About Cooper Cosmetic & Family Dentistry

Park Circle is one of the few North Charleston neighborhoods people now drive toward rather than through, and Cooper Cosmetic & Family Dentistry sits inside it on Chateau Avenue, a couple of blocks off the East Montague Avenue restaurant strip and a short run from Riverfront Park and the old Navy Base. If you live in Park Circle, Olde North Charleston, Wando Woods or Liberty Hill, this is a five-minute appointment with no bridge and no downtown parking garage attached to it. It also suits people who commute along Rivers Avenue or hop on and off I-26 at Montague, since a mid-morning cleaning here does not cost you the whole afternoon. Coming from Mount Pleasant or James Island is a different calculation entirely, because you are crossing water to get here and there are closer chairs on your side of it.

This is a general and cosmetic office rather than a single-procedure boutique. Exams, cleanings, restorative work and cosmetic treatment sit under one roof, with Dr. Jessica Peele, Dr. Jessica Tabb and Dr. Sabrina Von Bargen sharing the schedule. Tooth-colored fillings are the everyday workhorse and worth understanding before you sit down. Once decayed tissue is removed, the remaining enamel and dentin are etched, a bonding agent is brushed in, and composite resin is packed in thin layers, each one hardened with a curing light before the next goes down. That layering is what lets a dentist rebuild an actual chewing surface instead of a flat plug, and it is why a composite filling takes longer in the chair than the silver ones your parents had. The honest limit: composite is technique-sensitive, it can pick up stain from coffee and sweet tea over a decade, and a filling that ends up covering most of a molar is usually a signal that a crown is the more durable answer.

Nervous patients are a stated focus here, and the team speaks Spanish as well as English, so treatment plans and costs can be discussed without a translator. Hours run Monday through Thursday from 8am to 5pm and Friday until 3pm, which favors flexible daytime schedules; there are no evening or weekend slots, so shift workers should book well ahead.

A general and cosmetic practice on Chateau Avenue in Park Circle, handling exams, cleanings, tooth-colored restorations and cosmetic work for North Charleston households. Three dentists share the schedule, Spanish is spoken alongside English, and the team makes a point of working slowly with people who find dental visits difficult. Weekday hours only, 8am to 5pm Monday through Thursday and closing at 3pm on Friday.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does it take to reach the Chateau Avenue office from downtown Charleston?
From the peninsula it is usually fifteen to twenty minutes up I-26 or Rivers Avenue, exiting toward Montague. The office sits on Chateau Avenue just off the East Montague strip in Park Circle, so you are heading into a residential neighborhood rather than a commercial plaza. Coming from Mount Pleasant, budget longer at rush hour, because you are crossing the Cooper River first and then working back inland.
Does anyone at the practice speak Spanish?
Yes. Spanish is spoken here alongside English, so you can book an appointment, talk through a treatment plan and ask about costs without needing to bring someone to translate for you. If Spanish is your preferred language, mention it when you call, so the front desk can schedule you at a time when the right team member is available to sit in on the conversation.
How long should a tooth-colored filling last?
Composite fillings commonly run eight to twelve years, though the real variable is size and position. A small filling on a front tooth, protected from heavy chewing, can outlast that comfortably. A large one rebuilding most of a molar absorbs the full force of your bite and tends to fail sooner, at which point a crown is usually the more durable replacement rather than another filling. Grinding and acidic drinks shorten the clock.

Everyone was incredibly kind and helpful. I have not been to the dentist in quite some time due to multiple personal/financial reasons. Needless to say, I was pretty nervous. Not one person in that place made me feel embarrassed for my delay in my own care. They took their time to explain their process, what to expect, and what we need to do moving forward. I am kicking myself for not remembering the amazing dental hygienist who took so much time making sure I was feeling comfortable and informed! She was so nice and we chatted about small town South Carolina. Dr. Tabb was also so personable, honest, and respectful! I am so grateful for their wonderful care and feel at ease knowing my future dental health is in their capable hands.

Our family loves Cooper Cosmetic Family Dentistry! I have four children ranging in age from 4-11 and from their first time we have had stellar appointments for everyone. It’s not often you find a provider who does amazing with adults and young children, but they do! If you have hesitations about going to the dentist I can’t recommend this place enough. Every person there is friendly, intentional, and competent with each interaction. Our family primarily does regular checkups and screenings, but my daughter has had a cosmetic procedure for a chipped tooth. The dentist took the time to explain it to her and check in to make sure she was doing okay. We look forward to using them for years to come!

The best! The best dentists I've ever used. I had to have two fillings. They caught the problem early so the fillings weren't deep. The cleanings are thorough. They have their own insurance policy that saves money. And they are fun!!

We brought our 14 month old son to visit Dr. Peele over at Cooper Cosmetic & Family Dentistry for his very first dentist appointment and we had the best experience possible! With so much uncertainty bringing a toddler anywhere, we were met with smiling and friendly staff that assisted us from the moment we stepped in the door. We felt comfortable and confident with the compassionate care we received from everyone at this dental office! At the end of the visit, our son even got to pick his own fun toy out of their toy treasure box! We can’t wait to continue coming to Cooper Dentistry and putting our trust in our son’s dental healthcare!
