About Corner Dentistry
Corner Dentistry operates on South 6th Street in the Bella Vista area of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. At the core of a general dental practice is preventive and restorative care: checkups, professional cleanings, fillings, and screening for decay and gum disease before either becomes a bigger problem. It is the kind of appointment most people need on a routine schedule rather than only when something hurts.
Routine attendance, roughly every six months for most people, is what actually keeps small problems small. A lot of decay and gum disease develops without any pain in its early stages, which is why regular checkups matter even when nothing seems to be wrong, rather than only booking an appointment once something hurts.
A first appointment at a new practice typically covers a full examination, a review of your dental and medical history, and a professional cleaning, with X-rays if you do not have recent ones. It is also a reasonable time to raise any longer-term concerns, cosmetic or otherwise, so they can be factored into a plan going forward.
Day-to-day oral health still comes down to the basics between visits — brushing twice daily with fluoride toothpaste, cleaning between the teeth, and limiting how often sugary food and drink appear through the day matters more than the total amount eaten at once. Regular professional care is what catches whatever those habits do not.
Digital X-rays are a routine part of dental care because they show what a visual exam alone cannot — decay forming between teeth, bone loss below the gumline, and how developing adult teeth are positioned in children. They use a low radiation dose and are taken on a schedule matched to individual risk rather than at every single visit.
Left untreated, small dental problems tend not to stay small. A minor cavity that would have been a straightforward filling can progress to needing root canal treatment and a crown, and early gum inflammation that would have reversed with a good cleaning can progress toward bone loss around the teeth. Catching things early is generally the difference in both effort and cost. You can reach Corner Dentistry through this page to ask a question, check current availability, or request an appointment.

I've been going to Corner Dentistry for about six years, since about late 2019 and have been extremely happy with both their work and their approach. I typically see Dr. Katz. Both he and Dr. Conception take a conservative approach to care in that they don't push for taking measures in an anticipatory fashion, before they are needed. I appreciate this. The appointments never seem rushed and they always are willing to take the time to talk over what's going on, what should be done, what can wait and what's coming. In other words, I feel very informed to allow me to make a good decision without pressure. Pain management has been excellent and taking a few additional minutes for the painkiller to take hold is never a problem, and is encouraged. The actual work has thus far been excellent and I've no followup problems whatsoever. Another thing that I find to be a good sign and indicator of their ethos is that they always treat the staff with respect and kindness. I've seen some dentists over the years who are not good to their staff and that is a red line for me. So, all in all, a great practice that I'm pleased to have found. The practice is located on the northwest corner of 6th and Bainbridge, with the entry on Bainbridge. There is typically ample free (for 2 hours) parking in the neighborhood during the daytime hours. Evening hours, it is difficult to park. You probably know this already, but make sure that you check that your insurance (if you have some) includes this practice.
Dr Katz saw me today as a “desperate” walk in. I was worried about an abscess and a holiday weekend was coming up. He and his staff were quick and efficient with great bedside manner.
My husband and I started going to Corner Dentistry a few years back and have been so happy with our experience with both dentists and staff here. Their services are in high demand but they always have time for us. My dental work has been top notch. I know people don't “love” their dentists, but if all dentists were like them, I bet people would feel differently!
Great experience there today. They put your X-Rays up on a screen and go through them with you tooth by tooth to tell you what looks good, what you should keep an eye on, and what needs attention. My appointment started on time, they were quick, the facility was comfortable, and everyone was very friendly. As we come through the end of the pandemic dentists in general are booked pretty solid with people who are catching up on cleanings and dental work, so go ahead and get scheduled. They can put you on a list to receive a text if there's an unexpected early opening.
Dr. Katz and Dr. Concepion have been our family's dentists for about a year. They and their staff are friendly, sensitive to patients' concerns and professional. Their online scheduling makes it easy to confirm appointments and get reminders. Their app also solicits feedback about each visit experience. We've not only had dental check-ups and cleanings done . Our family has had more complicated dental work handled expertly. I had to have a botched root canal from a previous dentist fixed, and a new crown made. Note: because they are a small practice, you may not be able to get in for routine work on short notice. Plan ahead.
