About Coronation Dental Practice
Coronation Dental Practice provides dental care on Edinburgh Place in Cheltenham, England. Implants are considered by many dentists the most durable way to replace a missing tooth, since the titanium post fuses with the jaw bone over several months and then supports a crown that functions much like a natural tooth. Enough healthy bone is the main prerequisite, and a graft can build that up first if needed.
A veneer is a thin custom shell bonded to the front of a tooth to change its shape, length, or colour, most often used to address chips, gaps, or discoloration that whitening alone cannot fix. Traditional veneers require a small amount of enamel to be removed, which makes the change permanent.
Cosmetic treatment is generally the least invasive branch of dentistry, built around changing how teeth look rather than fixing something broken. Whitening and bonding sit at the lighter end; veneers and reshaping involve more planning. Most cosmetic dental insurance excludes this kind of work, since it is elective rather than medically necessary.
Root canal treatment removes infected or inflamed tissue from inside a tooth, cleans and seals the space, and allows the natural tooth to be kept rather than extracted. Its reputation for being painful is largely outdated — carried out under local anaesthetic, it typically relieves pain rather than causing it.
A crown covers an entire damaged tooth — used when too much structure is missing for a filling to hold reliably, whether from a large fracture, extensive decay, or after root canal treatment. It restores both the shape and the biting strength of the tooth underneath.
A bridge replaces one or more missing teeth by anchoring a false tooth to crowns placed on the teeth either side of the gap, creating a fixed replacement rather than a removable one. It is a longstanding alternative to an implant, particularly when the neighbouring teeth already need crowns. This is an excellent team who have looked after both me, and my extended family exceptionally well. Their care is second to none. They go above and beyond to help you especially when you're in pain. As an NHS patient, I can't thank them enough.
Sandy the dentist is absolutely amazing... BUT the receptionist has absolutely appalling customer service and reading from other reviews and experiences most people feel the same! She is rude on every occasion! Get her off your reception asap
Can't praise this place enough! I have a serious phobia of the dentist and the entire staff have been so kind and supportive. The dentist Sandy talked me through the treatment plan and assured me we'd take things at my pace, do some fillings then work up to extractions. I phoned this morning at 9am as my pain was unbearable and they got me in at 1040 and my tooth was out by 11. Sandy put me at ease through the whole experience and I can't thank her enough!
Lovely dentist. Always reassuring with my children and also myself. Most staff are pleasant and my dentist and dental assistant …whose name I cannot recall…but…are the best! A shame that the one receptionist lets the team down by being far too rude abrupt and clearly not caring enough to be working with customers. Hence not the full 5 stars. Aside that one bad apple, the other receptionists are wonderful!
Highly recommend this lovely practice! Been on the books with them for years and they have always been on hand to help when needed, I've been lucky enough to always get an appointment quickly when in need. Receptionist is always lovely, friendly and offering advice as well as keeping her professionalism. My dentist is always friendly and professional also and I have so far always received amaaazing treatment, even in tricky situations! In times where being registered with a dentist let alone getting an appointment can be so tricky recently, I am super grateful and thankful that I'm registered here! Highly recommend!
