About Cotswold Family Dentistry

Based on South Sharon Amity Road in the Providence Park area of Charlotte, North Carolina, Cotswold Family Dentistry is a dental practice serving the area. Pediatric dental care is built around treating children specifically — dentists with additional training in child development and behaviour management, and offices designed to make a first visit unintimidating. Guidance generally points to a child's first dental visit around age one or within six months of the first tooth.

Sedation dentistry uses inhaled, oral, or intravenous options to help patients relax through treatment, ranging from nitrous oxide for mild anxiety through to deeper sedation for longer or more involved procedures. It is commonly used for patients who have avoided the dentist for years due to fear.

A family dental practice sees a range of ages under one roof, which for most households means fewer separate appointments across different offices. It typically covers routine checkups and restorative treatment for both children and adults, with referrals out for anything requiring specialist training.

Oral surgery covers procedures beyond routine treatment — surgical extractions including impacted wisdom teeth, implant placement, and bone grafting among the more common ones. The distinguishing feature is generally that tissue is opened and closed as part of the procedure, rather than treated at the surface.

A sealant is a thin protective coating applied to the chewing surfaces of the back teeth, where the deep grooves collect plaque and food that brushing struggles to reach. It is most often applied to children's permanent molars shortly after they come through, though adults can benefit too.

Prosthetic dentistry is the branch concerned with replacing missing teeth and restoring damaged ones — dentures, bridges, crowns, and implant-supported restorations all sit within this area, chosen based on how much natural tooth and bone remain.

Comprehensive care generally means a practice can handle most of a patient's dental needs in-house — preventive, restorative, and often minor cosmetic or surgical treatment — reducing how often patients are referred elsewhere for routine work. I had an emergency dental situation and they were able to fit me in last minute and did an amazing job. The staff is so kind and welcoming, and I love that the chairs give you a view of the windows and trees outside.

11/10 experience! From beginning to end Gladys was very friendly and welcoming while checking in. Big shoutout to Ariel the hygienist and Dr. Callahan they’re both amazing! Ariel was very sweet and kind throughout my visit, after having a bad experience with my previous dental office I was quite nervous about my new patient appointment but everyone made me feel so welcomed and comfortable I will definitely recommend this office to anyone who is looking for a new dental office in the Cotswold area. Dr. Callahan was so sweet, I never had such an amazing dental experience I will definitely recommend coming here for all your dental needs!😊

My experience from start to finished was PHENOMENAL! Ariel is by far the BEST dental hygienist who I have ever been seen by. Rosalyn was also great and helpful with explaining my coverage and out-of-pocket expenses. Overall, amazing treatment and service from everyone. Highly recommend!

They have removed my hesitation and replaced it with friendly smiles! I cannot recommend them more highly!. If you need a dentist, Dr..Beckmann and Dr. Callahan should get a visit from you! 😁💎

I should start by saying this is one of a few reviews I've ever given for anything in my life. Hopefully it speaks to the weight of this that I've even bothered giving one. Going to the dentist is a terrifying and emotional affair for me, for a number of reasons. It is one of my greatest fears. For that reason, I avoided the dentist as much as I could for an embarrassingly long time. I convinced myself religious brushing and flossing would be sufficient. My teeth have begun to show the results and become a source of shame and great pain. I shared this with them and they made a concerted and successful effort to ease my mind and make sure I was as comfortable as the situation would allow. The word "care" gets thrown around casually in the dental and medical field. It's often forgotten that treatment involves actual care for the mental part too. There is no mistaking that these people care to the fullest extent. I'm extremely grateful for Cotswold Dentistry. I've got a long road to catch up, but I have no doubt that I'm in capable and caring hands.

Cotswold Family Dentistry is the best! The staff is wonderful and as a patient you will leave feeling listened to and cared for with compassion. Besides the warm and welcoming environment, they are the best dentists and hygienists my family has ever been to. They take their time and communicate well - and you will feel like the whole team knows you. I have 3 kids and they actually love going to their dentist!

I hadn’t been to the dentist in quite some time, but Cotswold Family Dentistry was completely non-judgmental about it. Everyone there was friendly and professional. Dr. Beckmann, Julie (the dental assistant), and my hygienist Chrissy were all gentle and took the time to thoroughly explain what they were doing. I never felt pressured to do any additional procedures, which I really appreciated. I was also lucky they had a cancellation and could get me in—and out—quickly. I highly recommend Cotswold Family Dentistry!
