Cottingham Dental Practice

I have never met such a rude (un)professional man. So much so that even 6 years later I suffer flashbacks to how unpleasant he was. On my first visit to the practice (referred by my NHS dentist) he told me there was no point in him carrying out the implant procedure as I clearly didn’t look after my teeth in any way, shape or form. Thought that as it was my money it was rather up to me, and surely the fact that I was willing to scrimp and save to hand over what equated to 10% of my yearly salary to have the implant should have shown that I did care about my teeth. I returned to have the procedure carried out a few weeks later where he praised the radical improvement of my dental health even though I had made no changes whatsoever. He took the opportunity this time to criticise how my hands were covered in ink and comment that he would never let any of his staff to arrive at work looking like that. I would hope not, his staff are dental practitioners and not printer engineers, I had been at work all day so of course there was going to be some evidence of that, still no idea why he had to comment on this. The final blow he delivered was when I went for the appointment to pick the colour of the implant where I was told, “it doesn’t matter what colour you choose, it’s bound to match one of your teeth.” I should have reported him then and there, and I am still gutted I didn’t. Honestly, my teeth aren’t that bad, they’ve had 40 years regular NHS care, but even if they were, how is it OK to make these sorts of comments to his patients?

Excellent service, excellent care and excellent team. After care is second to none. I would highly recommend this practice.

Was Great service from start to finish explained everything in detail. Very understanding, genuinely cares, professional, Very clean, and all staff are welcoming. The waiting room is cosy and feels inviting, and reception is fast and efficient but still friendly and happy to chat. They are fantastic at what they do. I had 2 teeth out, been told by people that went to nhs it was painful, not at this one... they were very caring, injected, and felt nothing after that, Highly recommended.

I have had multiple visits to the dental clinic, and each time I have been thoroughly pleased with Rob's expertise. He has a unique way of making complex procedures seem simple. I had a particularly challenging tooth extraction that another dentist was hesitant to take on. Rob not only managed the extraction with ease but also utilized PRP for improved post-extraction healing. Everything went smoothly. Moreover, I am on their oral health scheme, and during my 6-monthly visit, a cavity was identified, which was promptly addressed with a filling procedure. I am incredibly satisfied and have already recommended it to several friends and family members.

I have recently had a root cancel, bridge, double crown and teeth whitening with Mr Nichols and I am delighted with the outcome. All the dental staff have been welcoming and reassuring and the process has been surprisingly painless and easy. Mr Nichols fully explained every procedure and any risks in advance and talked me through every process. And I am extremely happy with my results. I would thoroughly recommend this dental practice.

I was referred by own dentist to Rob and his team at Cottingham Dental Practice for dental implants as after forty years of having dental crowns capped & recapped - the roots were beyond further work being done and my remaining teeth were in poor condition. I was very apprehensive about starting the whole procedure but my fears were groundless as Rob thoroughly explained each step in my treatment plan and answered all my questions, which gave me confidence to commence the extensive treatment. Rob and his team are fabulous - very professional, constantly updating their skills, techniques and expertise to deliver a high standard of dental care. The surgery, treatment rooms and equipment are all impressively high tech and up to date My treatment started with bone grafts and by the end of treatment, eight upper jaw crowns had been replaced with dental implants and two teeth, also in my upper jaw, were crowned. I am delighted with my implants, having this dental work done has boosted my self confidence and I can smile with confidence again - they look great & several people have remarked how lucky I am to be in my 60's to still have my own natural teeth! Been coming to the surgery since 2016, I first came with an elderly lady and was extremely pleased the way Rob was so patient and gentle with her. I felt at ease in the surgery, the staff were very friendly and pleasant. I made an appointment for myself and received the same high standard of care. I have had 2 extensive dental implants done. Rob is very professional and a very skilled dental surgeon. His whole team are very friendly and helpful,I feel at ease every time I go. I would highly recommend this dental practice.
