About Cranston Pediatric Dentistry

Based on Phenix Avenue in Cranston, Rhode Island, Cranston Pediatric Dentistry is a dental practice serving the area. Pediatric dental care is built around treating children specifically — dentists with additional training in child development and behaviour management, and offices designed to make a first visit unintimidating. Guidance generally points to a child's first dental visit around age one or within six months of the first tooth.

A first appointment at a new practice typically covers a full examination, a review of your dental and medical history, and a professional cleaning, with X-rays if you do not have recent ones. It is also a reasonable time to raise any longer-term concerns, cosmetic or otherwise, so they can be factored into a plan going forward.

Day-to-day oral health still comes down to the basics between visits — brushing twice daily with fluoride toothpaste, cleaning between the teeth, and limiting how often sugary food and drink appear through the day matters more than the total amount eaten at once. Regular professional care is what catches whatever those habits do not.

Digital X-rays are a routine part of dental care because they show what a visual exam alone cannot — decay forming between teeth, bone loss below the gumline, and how developing adult teeth are positioned in children. They use a low radiation dose and are taken on a schedule matched to individual risk rather than at every single visit.

Left untreated, small dental problems tend not to stay small. A minor cavity that would have been a straightforward filling can progress to needing root canal treatment and a crown, and early gum inflammation that would have reversed with a good cleaning can progress toward bone loss around the teeth. Catching things early is generally the difference in both effort and cost. I did not find Dr. Omar to be understanding of how to work with my autistic toddler. We left this practice.

My daughter has been a patient for the last 5yrs she's on the Spectrum and hates everything dental but over time with extra visits and the great care and patience given by Dr. Omar she has done amazing even if I moved out of RI I'd drive back for Dr. Omar for all her dental needs!

As a kid that hated the dentist, I’m so happy my children love it here. Especially my 3 year old, she’s always so excited to go to the “dentists house”. As a parent i feel like our goal is to give them a better childhood than what we had. Making sure they were comfortable and felt safe at their dentist office was my top priority (right after ensuring that they were receiving the best service possible). This place manages to do both. Couldn’t recommend them enough!

My daughter has severe anxiety about the dentist. The staff made my daughter so relaxed and comfortable. It was an amazing experience. We are glad we finally found a dentist perfect for her!

I have been coming here for the last couple of years for my 3 children. Ashlee is amazing! Receptionist’s are super nice. The place is always clean. Between the 3 kids I often lose track of appointments lol… they are always on top of it with the reminders which is great! Highly recommend!!

I absolutely love this dentist. It’s open, clean and cheerful looking. The staff are all amazing from the front desk to the dental hygienists and dentist, everyone is kind and has so much patience. My teen and toddler go here and we have never had an issue. Wait time: barely any! we’re usually seen right away or with 5 mins.
