A modern, computerised and air-conditioned surgery with restful colour combinations and plants to soften the otherwise clinical cleanliness which is essential in any surgery We use a digital x-ray system which reduces the radiation compared to a conventional analog x-ray machine and only use white filling materials. Maarten Tonsbeek graduated from the dental school in Utrecht in the Netherlands in 1986 and came to England immediately after his graduation. He took over the Dental Care Centre in 1989. This is one of the more interesting sides of modern dentistry because we can now create a brighter smile without doing invasive procedures like crowns or veneers. Your teeth function in a fairly difficult environment: severe temperature changes, bacterial attack from the plaque and lots of strongly discolouring food substances which can leave their marks after many years of service. These yellowing food stains are called chromagens and if you drink tea, coffee, red wine and especially smoke, there are ample opportunities for these chomagens to be absorbed by the enamel. These stains can now be removed by using oxidising gels like carbamide peroxide. This penetrates the enamel and oxidises the stains.

I had an unexpected dental emergency while staying nearby, and I’m so grateful to Debbie and Dr. Stephanie for their kindness and care. They went out of their way to accommodate me with a same-day appointment, which was such a relief at a very stressful time. As I’m not a UK resident, I especially appreciated how welcoming, compassionate, and attentive they were throughout the whole experience. Their professionalism and genuine care made a difficult situation so much easier and I was able to enjoy the remainder of my stay in this quaint city.

Had root canal yesterday with Dr Tom Hennebry. The plan was to then start the process of having a crown fitted. After the R/C Dr Tom talked me through why a crown was not really necessary at this stage and that he could build the tooth back up with a filling. Basically halving my bill! Dr Tom told me that this is the route he would take on his own teeth- a filling not a crown. (what better recommendation is that!) Dentistry- skilfully executed and painless (just the expected pinches from the initial anesthetic injections- to be expected) Would highly recommend Dr Tom.

It has been a year since my first visit to Dental Care. On that time I have been impressed by Steph and Anne’s superb dentistry practice. They have transformed my badly neglected denture into a healthy nice one. Definitely Dental Care was the right choice. Craig, Debby, Alice all great professionals, always there to help.

I’ve been going to Dental Care Centre for 6 years now and Maarten and his team have been fantastic. He has done a lot of work on my teeth and it’s been excellent every time. Everyone is very friendly and accommodating. Lynn in reception is friendly, reassuring and compassionate. Would definitely recommend this dental practice.
