About Dental Care Of Lafayette

Dental Care Of Lafayette operates on North 23rd Street in the Columbian Park area of Lafayette, Indiana. Implants are considered by many dentists the most durable way to replace a missing tooth, since the titanium post fuses with the jaw bone over several months and then supports a crown that functions much like a natural tooth. Enough healthy bone is the main prerequisite, and a graft can build that up first if needed.

Cosmetic dentistry covers treatment aimed primarily at appearance — whitening, veneers, bonding, and reshaping among the more common options — for patients who are less concerned with a problem that hurts than with how their smile looks day to day. The right combination depends on what specifically you would like to change.

Dentures replace some or all of the natural teeth in a jaw with a removable appliance, custom-fitted to the mouth. A full denture replaces every tooth; a partial fills gaps where some natural teeth remain. Because the jaw bone reshapes over time, dentures typically need adjusting or remaking periodically.

General dentistry covers the routine and restorative care most people need most often — examinations, cleanings, fillings, and preventive checks that catch problems while they are still small and inexpensive to treat. Regular attendance, roughly every six months for most patients, is what makes that early-catch approach actually work.

Day-to-day oral health still comes down to the basics between visits — brushing twice daily with fluoride toothpaste, cleaning between the teeth, and limiting how often sugary food and drink appear through the day matters more than the total amount eaten at once. Regular professional care is what catches whatever those habits do not.

Digital X-rays are a routine part of dental care because they show what a visual exam alone cannot — decay forming between teeth, bone loss below the gumline, and how developing adult teeth are positioned in children. They use a low radiation dose and are taken on a schedule matched to individual risk rather than at every single visit. My review of Dr. Sakel and Dental Care of Lafayette. I am a 73 year old man who didn't always practice good dental care and like many of you I was terrified to go to the dentist. That was until I started seeing Dr. Sakel approximately 8 years ago. Dr. Sakel along with his staff are all caring of the patient and their needs. They show compassion, frequently ask if you are okay, and are extremely thorough in any task they perform on your teeth and gums. I just wish I would have known about Dr. Sakel many years ago as I now do not have any problem with going to the dentist! Arrive as a patient and leave as a friend. Thank you Dr. Sakel and please extend my thanks to your staff.

My wife has had troubles with the way Dr. Sakel reattached her tooth to her implant. He used the wrong type of glue which was corrosive to the bone. In addition, the method he used made the tooth impossible to remove for treatment and repair. We will no longer be using Dental Care of Lafayette.

So thankful I switched to this office!! The dentist is very kind and thorough with explanation. The ladies in the office are just as phenomenal! They are out of network for my insurance so there's a little more out of pocket cost for procedures outside of regular cleaning and exams, but the ladies in the office are very informative on insurance coverage and what I'll pay well in advance!! I haven't even attempted to look for an "in network" dentist because I've honestly never been to a dentist office that makes me feel as comfortable as these guys do!! I highly recommend this office, especially if you have ridiculously high anxiety going to the dentist (I do). They really do make you feel at ease.

Fantastic dentist office! I had a routine cleaning done. Professional, quick, and kind, no pushing of any extra services and welcoming office space. I would highly recommend Dr. Sakel and the team at Dental Care of Lafayette to anyone in the Lafayette area looking for a dentist.

Dr. Sakel and his staff are incredibly courteous and professional. Dr. Sakel had performed a root canal. He did an excellent job, absolutely no discomfort or any pain the next day! I'm a customer for life!
