About Dental Health and Wellness Boston

Dental Health and Wellness Boston is a dental practice on State Street in the Downtown area of Boston, Massachusetts. A dental implant replaces a missing tooth at the root, not just the crown — a small titanium post is placed in the jaw bone and, once it has integrated over a period of months, a replacement tooth is attached to it. It is generally the most durable option for a single missing tooth or several.

A veneer is a thin custom shell bonded to the front of a tooth to change its shape, length, or colour, most often used to address chips, gaps, or discoloration that whitening alone cannot fix. Traditional veneers require a small amount of enamel to be removed, which makes the change permanent.

Cosmetic dentistry covers treatment aimed primarily at appearance — whitening, veneers, bonding, and reshaping among the more common options — for patients who are less concerned with a problem that hurts than with how their smile looks day to day. The right combination depends on what specifically you would like to change.

Root canal treatment removes infected or inflamed tissue from inside a tooth, cleans and seals the space, and allows the natural tooth to be kept rather than extracted. Its reputation for being painful is largely outdated — carried out under local anaesthetic, it typically relieves pain rather than causing it.

A crown covers an entire damaged tooth — used when too much structure is missing for a filling to hold reliably, whether from a large fracture, extensive decay, or after root canal treatment. It restores both the shape and the biting strength of the tooth underneath.

Dentists commonly treat mild to moderate obstructive sleep apnea with a custom oral appliance that repositions the jaw to keep the airway open overnight, often used by patients who cannot tolerate a CPAP machine. A sleep study is generally the starting point for diagnosis. Best dental in Boston 😬

Drop Smith has been my dentist for over 25 years. That alone should speak volumes about her work. Meticulous in every aspect and always provides all the necessary details of the work to be provided. Her staff mirror her work ethics, and it is always a pleasure to interact with them.

I have been coming here for a few years now. I am VERY scared of dental work. I will start crying if I hear i need a root canal. I will ask the same questions eighty times, I will misunderstand things through sheer delusional hope, I will go against medical advice until my teeth are literally falling out of my head. Dr budd never pressures me, the patience of his entire team is really incredible. I don't have dental insurance so I used to bounce around the cheap chain places and the difference in service and competency is quite stark. My old dentist i swear used to see like 3 patients at once. He would numb me and say " k brb!!!!" And then leave me for like 60 minutes and by the time he came back the novacaine had already started to wear off and he had to reinject me. This would happen all the time. With Dr budd he has his full attention on me so even though no one loves being at the dentist it is as short as possible. I rarely have to wait. Plus they have a tv in the room which is really helpful to take my mind off the fact that there is a literally drill in my mouth. I will never be ok at the dentist but I am the most ok here.

I've been going to Dental Health and Wellness for many years. Dr. Jill Smith is very patient and has a calming environment. After my dental cleaning today, I spoke with Dr. Budd about one of my teeth. He was able to add some bonding, so it would be in line with my other teeth. He did a remarkable job....I am very pleased with the results. I highly recommend this dental practice

I saw Dr. Jill Smith for an emergency front tooth chip repair/bonding and such a phenomenal experience from start to finish. She so kindly answered my message over the weekend while on vacation and calmed my nerves that she could definitely help once she returned on Monday. The front desk staff was very kind and accomodating in getting me in right away. The hygienist was adorable and very thorough. Dr. Jill is extremely detail oriented and efficient. My front tooth has had bonding on/off for the last 15 years and after Dr. Jill's repair- it has seriously never looked better!! I'm so thrilled with my results and overall experience here.
