About Dental Images of OKC, Dr. Kevin L. Layton, DDS
Dental Images of OKC, Dr. Kevin L. Layton, DDS operates on Northwest Expressway in the Central Oklahoma City area of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Wisdom teeth are removed when they are impacted, repeatedly infected, decayed, or damaging the tooth in front, since they arrive last and often into a jaw with no room left. Not every wisdom tooth needs to come out — one that erupts cleanly and can be kept clean is often left alone.
Gum disease treatment ranges from a deeper professional cleaning for early inflammation through to more involved periodontal care once bone around the teeth has started to be affected. Bleeding gums are usually the earliest sign, and the early stage is reversible with proper cleaning and better daily plaque control.
Oral surgery covers procedures beyond routine treatment — surgical extractions including impacted wisdom teeth, implant placement, and bone grafting among the more common ones. The distinguishing feature is generally that tissue is opened and closed as part of the procedure, rather than treated at the surface.
Periodontics is the specialty focused on the gums and the bone supporting the teeth, handling more advanced gum disease, related surgical treatment, and — in many practices — dental implant placement, which sits naturally alongside that training.
Prosthetic dentistry is the branch concerned with replacing missing teeth and restoring damaged ones — dentures, bridges, crowns, and implant-supported restorations all sit within this area, chosen based on how much natural tooth and bone remain.
Comprehensive care generally means a practice can handle most of a patient's dental needs in-house — preventive, restorative, and often minor cosmetic or surgical treatment — reducing how often patients are referred elsewhere for routine work.
A filling repairs a tooth after decay has been cleaned out, most often using tooth-coloured composite resin that is shaped and bonded to blend with the surrounding tooth. It is usually completed in a single appointment and is one of the most routine restorative procedures in dentistry. You can reach Dental Images of OKC, Dr. Kevin L. Visited this place back in 2019. Don't know why I am receiving bill for the past month. My WORST experience at a dental clinic! Honestly would not have bothered to drop a review but thanks for the reminder with the bill out of no where. Took about an hour just to have scans done because they had I think an intern or someone very unexperienced left alone with me. It was very painful how she had placed the mouth brace for the scans into my mouth, and because she was not sure of how to do it, she replaced it into my mouth several times continuing placing it in the most uncomfortable placement. For some reason I decided I would not leave after that once Dr. Layton checked and found that I needed some filling. Told me I could do it same day and I said sure. He had the same intern help him with the filling while the experienced hygienist stood there and told her she was doing something wrong. I think as a first time patient there and first time being to the dentist in a few years (they knew of this since I told them coming in) they should have asked if it was okay to have the unexperienced person there. But they never asked me that nor was I aware of what was going on until the hygienist mentioned to me later. Dr. Layton was forcefully showing the intern with where she needed to keep and place things. She was not confident in what she was doing which obviously frustrated Dr. Layton that he was BEATING my face! I just thought ok, its been a while since I've been to the dentist, things are fine. Insurance covered the scan, I payed what I owed. Moved on. Next day at work, all my co-workers mentioned how BRUISED and SWOLLEN my face was. The bruising lasted for about a week. I now go to a dental clinic recommended to me by HR. It is way better than this place. I had to have another filling on the other side of my face. I did not swell or bruise from my current dentist. He does a great job unlike what was done for me at Dr. Layton's office. DO NOT GO HERE.
Dr. Layton has been my dentist for more than15 years. I had very crooked teeth and too many of them. I was scared to have teeth removed that were healthy. He explained everything that he was planning to do simply. I never thought my smile could be so beautiful. Also he never let me feel any pain. Comfortable atmosphere. The best dentist I have ever had.
Very friendly and at home like environment, the front desk clerk was very professional kind, patient. The Dental assistant instantly made me feel welcomed and comfortable. Customer service and patient care is a obvious priority. I'm happy to have made the choice to give Dental Images a try.
I had a really good experience with Dr. K and staff. They took really good care of me(I'm afraid of dentist office visits all my life). Got in really quick and out minimal pain. Dr knows how to do his thing will be going back for more visits in the future.
I had never left a dentist so happy before. I had a recent bridge put in from another dentist that I've had some concerns with and I was really looking for another professional opinion, so based on reviews from Google I called Dental Images up, explained the situation and she got me booked. From the receptionist (Stephanie), to the tech (Niaysha - so sorry if I misspelled!) to Dr. Layton, they were all very caring, compassionate about me as a person not a number, and made sure I felt as if my questions were answered. Even as I left they all said goodbye to me. My current dentist's office does not feel like this at all. I really appreciate these guys for helping me like they did. Very professional, knowledgeable, and caring. Definitely will be back at some point and will refer others to you!
