About Dental Smiles Chelmsford

Based on Rectory Lane in Chelmsford, England, Dental Smiles Chelmsford is a dental practice serving the area. A dental implant replaces a missing tooth at the root, not just the crown — a small titanium post is placed in the jaw bone and, once it has integrated over a period of months, a replacement tooth is attached to it. It is generally the most durable option for a single missing tooth or several.

Clear aligners straighten teeth through a series of custom, removable trays, each worn for one to two weeks before moving to the next in the sequence. They suit mild to moderate crowding and spacing well, and are worn roughly twenty to twenty-two hours a day for treatment to stay on schedule.

Traditional braces use brackets and wires to gradually move teeth into alignment, handling complex bite corrections and significant crowding more predictably than removable alternatives. Treatment commonly runs one to three years, with a retainer worn afterward to hold the result.

A veneer is a thin custom shell bonded to the front of a tooth to change its shape, length, or colour, most often used to address chips, gaps, or discoloration that whitening alone cannot fix. Traditional veneers require a small amount of enamel to be removed, which makes the change permanent.

Cosmetic dentistry covers treatment aimed primarily at appearance — whitening, veneers, bonding, and reshaping among the more common options — for patients who are less concerned with a problem that hurts than with how their smile looks day to day. The right combination depends on what specifically you would like to change.

Emergency dental care covers sudden problems that will not wait for a routine appointment — severe pain, a knocked-out or fractured tooth, swelling, or a lost filling that leaves a tooth exposed. Same-day or urgent appointments are the point of an emergency service, rather than the standard multi-week booking window. Dear Dental Smiles, As usual the girls on reception were very helpful and cheekily pleasant. Martinka is back from maternity leave and she is by far my favourite Hygenist. Always kind and gentle a really nice person. Nermine my dentist is also a very pleasant personality and a skilled dentist. I really enjoy my regular appointments with these two skilful ladies. Kind regards Colin Bunting.

I started my journey with Dental smiles in 2022 after loosing a tooth and my world literally came crashing! Immediately they sorted me out with my temporary tooth then I embarked on my journey with Dr Sharpe! Dr Sharpe and his able Gorgeous Dental Assistant Karen have been nothing short of a blessing! THE most pleasant duo! Long story short from a missing front tooth to now fully kitted with my Implant tooth, veneers and composite bonding I literally feel brand new and can’t stop smiling!!!! The receptionists have been great allllll through journey too! One thing I will say this whole journey was not cheap! But when I needed to take a break for financial reasons I did and they never bugged me once I did it in my own stride and they were soooo understanding for this I’m so grateful! To my most handsome Dr Sharpe! And the Gorgeous Karen you both have my heart! Thank you for this beautiful journey 🥹 thank you for always listening to my wedding and social life escapades! I will definitely miss that room and my appointments! 🥹You both are real MVPsssss!!!! Thank you Thank you Thank youuuuuu!!!!! I can’t stop smiling now! They, as a healthcare provider, suggested I come in while sick, putting everyone at risk. We had consecutive dentist appointments booked for myself, my wife, and my son. On the morning of the appointment I woke up feeling sick, so I called the clinic to explain that I could not come in. My wife and son are already going in. Understand there is a 48h policy, but I offered two very reasonable options due to unforeseen circumstances. Either we reschedule my appointment, or my wife could take my slot since she is already a patient there and is on a treatment plan that includes future fillings anyway. They refused both. They said they could not transfer my deposit to my wife and that I would simply lose the money. I then asked if they were seriously suggesting I should come in while sick and coughing. Their response was that the dentist is protected, so if I felt well enough I could still come. Hearing that from a healthcare provider was shocking. Patient health and basic infection control clearly were not a priority. It felt like they cared far more about keeping my deposit than acting responsibly or showing any flexibility. Because of this, I will not be continuing my treatment with this clinic. I would avoid this place if you care about your health.

The people I encounter first when attending Dental Smiles are the Receptionists who are always welcoming and helpful. My Dentist Dr Nermine Abdelsaid & Hygienists Martika and more recently Javaria adopt a professional and caring stance, listen to what I have to say and give helpful advice. I don’t feel rushed, and therefore I feel comfortable and relaxed when undergoing procedures. Their Assistants are also friendly and competent. Catherine Wright
