About Dentistry on the Ponds

Dentistry on the Ponds is a dental practice on Pond Promenade in Chanhassen, Minnesota. A dental implant replaces a missing tooth at the root, not just the crown — a small titanium post is placed in the jaw bone and, once it has integrated over a period of months, a replacement tooth is attached to it. It is generally the most durable option for a single missing tooth or several.

A veneer is a thin custom shell bonded to the front of a tooth to change its shape, length, or colour, most often used to address chips, gaps, or discoloration that whitening alone cannot fix. Traditional veneers require a small amount of enamel to be removed, which makes the change permanent.

Root canal treatment removes infected or inflamed tissue from inside a tooth, cleans and seals the space, and allows the natural tooth to be kept rather than extracted. Its reputation for being painful is largely outdated — carried out under local anaesthetic, it typically relieves pain rather than causing it.

Emergency dental care covers sudden problems that will not wait for a routine appointment — severe pain, a knocked-out or fractured tooth, swelling, or a lost filling that leaves a tooth exposed. Same-day or urgent appointments are the point of an emergency service, rather than the standard multi-week booking window.

A crown covers an entire damaged tooth — used when too much structure is missing for a filling to hold reliably, whether from a large fracture, extensive decay, or after root canal treatment. It restores both the shape and the biting strength of the tooth underneath.

Dentures replace some or all of the natural teeth in a jaw with a removable appliance, custom-fitted to the mouth. A full denture replaces every tooth; a partial fills gaps where some natural teeth remain. Because the jaw bone reshapes over time, dentures typically need adjusting or remaking periodically. Clean, welcoming, and cozy atmosphere! My sister and I visited for the first time today, and we both had a wonderful experience from start to finish. We were warmly greeted by the friendly and helpful receptionist as soon as we walked in. My dental hygienist, Jeanine, was incredibly thorough and took the time to clearly explain dental treatment, making me feel comfortable and informed. Dr. Mehta was also very knowledgeable, attentive, and never made me feel rushed during my exam. The entire team was professional, kind, and genuinely cared about providing excellent patient care. I highly recommend this office and look forward to coming back!

My whole family has gone to Dentistry on the Ponds for years and have always had a great experience. Jeanine is a wonderful hygienist - we all love her (even my kids!)!! The staff are always welcoming and Dr. Mehta is a fabulous dentist. My experience getting a crown with him far exceeded my previous experience at a different practice.

I'm 48 and this is the BEST dental provider I've ever had. Dr. Mehta is wonderful!! WhenI I had bell's palsy, he got me in right away for a complimentary visit (I wasn't even a patient). He then followed up via phone texts two more times! He has such a kind and genuine soul. Also, the entire staff has been excellent to work with and made me and my family feel so welcomed and cared for. I trust their dental work procedures and that they care for the person more than the dollar. I highly recommend this place.

In 2025 I came rushing into this location due to a chipped tooth and was a bit nervous since I had never been here. I was treated with kindness and patience and have been with every appointment since. The entire team makes you feel welcome and remembered and do their absolute best at making each of your appointments a comfortable experience. I would recommend this dentistry to any and all friends and family of mine.

I have been going to Dentistry on the Ponds for a few years now and the atmosphere is unmatched! Everyone is super personable from Julie at the front desk (who always has a super positive attitude and always greets me with a smile) to Dr. Mehta and the rest of the staff in the back that make it a priority to ask about life and proactively ask if I have any questions or concerns about my teeth that they can help with. I recently cracked my tooth and Dr. Mehta and Monique had me fixed up and my smile back to normal in only about 20 minutes which is great when you have a busy schedule! They always do efficient work and even went out of their way to get me a night guard to help protect my teeth from grinding and getting damaged when I sleep. Dr. Mehta always has great advice when it comes to questions I have like which product is best to help with teeth whitening and how often I should do it for the best results. I have loved every visit at Dentistry on the Ponds and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a dentist in the area!
