About Dently: Cosmetic Dentistry in Williamsburg

Dently is a cosmetic-focused dental practice on North 8th Street in Williamsburg — the framing matters because most of the work here is aesthetic rather than routine. Patients arrive primarily for veneers, whitening, smile-design consultations, and cosmetic restorative cases where appearance is the driver. Routine general dentistry — cleanings and basic fillings — is on the menu, but the office's center of gravity is the cosmetic side rather than the day-to-day general-practice rhythm.

For cavity-related cases specifically, the team handles tooth-colored composite fillings with attention to color-matching for visible teeth, replacement fillings when older work has compromised aesthetics, and the cosmetic-grade restorative work that goes beyond functional repair into appearance optimization. Beyond fillings, services include in-office and at-home whitening, porcelain veneers for visible-tooth transformation, aesthetic crowns, smile makeovers, and basic general care like cleanings. The cosmetic emphasis means visible-tooth work gets planned with appearance considerations from the start rather than added on after.

If your front teeth need work that combines structural repair with cosmetic improvement, a practice that anchors its identity in aesthetics tends to plan that combined-project work better than offices where cosmetics is a secondary service.

Patients searching for dentist accepting new patients in Brooklyn, NY, family dentist in Brooklyn, or general dentistry in Brooklyn, NY who land here should know the practice is cosmetic-leaning rather than a first-stop general dentist for routine recall care — though basic general dentistry is available alongside the cosmetic services. The cosmetic consultation typically combines visual assessment, photographs, smile-design discussion, and a phased treatment plan. For Williamsburg patients planning aesthetic work that may include some routine restorative steps along the way, this North 8th Street cosmetic practice is the appropriate type of office for that combined project. Bringing prior X-rays and treatment records from a previous dentist usually saves a redundant imaging round at the new-patient exam and gives the team baseline context to compare against current findings.

From the front desk, to the dental assistants, to the my dentist Dr. Patel, I feel like I’m in the best hands when I come to Dently. I highly recommend the subscription dental plan if you don’t have insurance.

Would give zero stars if I could. I have not had a good experience here. I was left alone for a long time in the middle of my appointment with really uncomfortable gear keeping my mouth open with no explanation or information on when the dentist would be back. The dentist also seemed to very unsure about which cavities he should fill, and kept changing his mind about which to do, even changed his plan again day of when I went back for a filling. Did not inspire confidence. When I had to take x rays they shuttled me back and forth into the other room 3 times because they kept taking photos of the wrong spot in my mouth. Once they forgot to put the protective vest on my body during the x ray and I had to remind them. Very disorganized, not communicative, would not recommend. ***EDIT: This isn’t a mistake like they are claiming, I was not there this week. I will reach out to confirm details since I did not use my full name here obviously. Many months later they also sent all my information to a debt collector without reaching out to me first for a large payment that was never mentioned in any appointments beforehand and still did not make sense to me what it was for. Terrible place don’t go here!**

1. They said I had a cavity “starting” and that needed to be filled. And that my bite was all wrong and I need Invisalign. I went to another dentist for a second opinion (our family dentist), he said there are no cavities and my bite is fine. 2. When I called to cancel my second cleaning appointment that I had made the first time I went there, no one picked up at the office 5 times (I called on different days, different times, working hours). I also left several voice mails and no one followed up on them either.

I have been going to Dently dental for a couple years now and had a great experience. They’ve always been transparent about the cost and the quality of service was great. However most recently (Nov) I visited for a regular cleaning and was told there was nothing to pay at the front desk (as usual, cleaning is covered by my insurance). A week later I got a $700+ charge in the mail; it turns out my provider had gone out of network and they did not tell me of this change before they hit me retroactively with this out of pocket charge. Edited for updates — Dently reached out to let me know that this claim was due to an administrative error; my provider’s in-network status was not processed fully by the time of my visit. They clarified that I would not owe the amount that my insurance claim stated and that my visit would still be 100% covered as per my regular plan. I really appreciate this correction and their flexibility around accommodating insurance/network related mishaps. I’ve been happy about the quality of their service for the last two years so I was pretty confused and upset by the hefty retroactive charge for my preventative cleaning; I’m glad it was a misunderstanding/unintentional miscommunication and that I can continue to go to Dently in the future knowing these types of issues will be resolved easily Edit: yeah so Dently randomly backed out on their email to me and sent me a barrage of aggressive texts threatening to send my balance to collections. I had to block them because they would not stop harassing me from all fronts, multiple texts and calls per day and after checking w my insurance, I’ve confirmed that they are trying to get me to pay online an amt the insurance sent them via a check addressed to them. Why Dently suspects I would keep a check addressed to another person baffles me as well as their unprofessional ALL CAPS threats towards me over text after their seemingly caring messages publicly on Google reviews etc. I would NOT trust them — after years of going to them they essentially took a regular cleaning which is 100% covered by insurance and are trying to charge me hundreds of dollars for it. They really bought my trust for a while only to have it become an opportunity for them to threaten and extort me. There are plenty of dental offices nearby that have great services and are consistently reliable for insurance. I’ve never had this issue in the past where for a regular cleaning which is 100% covered, a dental clinic continually harasses me for money they haven’t been able to get from my insurance. I would simply not risk the headache of their front desk and administration for all the accounting errors and the customer having to take the financial fall for that. You can be an old customer that’s been going for years like me to have things switch up in an instant.

Dr. Patel is truly one of the best dentists I’ve ever been to. She takes her time explaining everything in detail, making sure you feel comfortable and fully understand your treatment. On top of that, her staff is amazing, they walked me through my insurance step by step, which made the whole experience stress-free. 10/10. NO CAP
