About Denton Smiles Dentistry
Denton Smiles Dentistry operates on South Interstate 35 in Denton, Texas. Cosmetic treatment is generally the least invasive branch of dentistry, built around changing how teeth look rather than fixing something broken. Whitening and bonding sit at the lighter end; veneers and reshaping involve more planning. Most cosmetic dental insurance excludes this kind of work, since it is elective rather than medically necessary.
General dentistry covers the routine and restorative care most people need most often — examinations, cleanings, fillings, and preventive checks that catch problems while they are still small and inexpensive to treat. Regular attendance, roughly every six months for most patients, is what makes that early-catch approach actually work.
Day-to-day oral health still comes down to the basics between visits — brushing twice daily with fluoride toothpaste, cleaning between the teeth, and limiting how often sugary food and drink appear through the day matters more than the total amount eaten at once. Regular professional care is what catches whatever those habits do not.
Digital X-rays are a routine part of dental care because they show what a visual exam alone cannot — decay forming between teeth, bone loss below the gumline, and how developing adult teeth are positioned in children. They use a low radiation dose and are taken on a schedule matched to individual risk rather than at every single visit.
Left untreated, small dental problems tend not to stay small. A minor cavity that would have been a straightforward filling can progress to needing root canal treatment and a crown, and early gum inflammation that would have reversed with a good cleaning can progress toward bone loss around the teeth. Catching things early is generally the difference in both effort and cost.
Continuity matters in dental care — seeing the same practice over time means your history, X-rays, and any patterns in your oral health are already on file, rather than starting from scratch at each visit. That familiarity is part of what a regular dental home offers beyond any single appointment. Denton Smiles actually makes me SMILE!!! They are very professional yet make you feel very comfortable!! Dr. Cobb is my personal dentist and I think he is awesome!!! What I find refreshing about him is that he listens in order to really understand my dental issues. He is very personable and down to earth, has no pretense about him!! I recently had a full upper implant procedure done and I am extremely pleased with the results!!! The entire process was the BEST!! Based on my experience I can highly recommend Dr. Cobb and Denton Smiles dentistry!!!
Despite good detail dental work, I stopped coming to this facility years ago because AFTER paying my bill in full of $5000. (Crown work) according to their “dental treatment plan” they said I owed an additional amount. I found it odd because I had paid everything already out of pocket. Fast forward, recently my new dentist was out on maternity leave. I was at a time crunch. Therefore, i returned to Denton Smiles and saw Dr. Tran again. They supplied me with a complete and detailed “treatment plan” including x-rays. Again it was several thousand dollars. I’m a senior citizen living on a small fixed retirement pension, but am serious and responsible about paying my debts even if I use credit cards. Again this time I paid punctually 2 large payments over a few thousand. Again, after a month of having paid my bill (treatment plan”) and dental work was completed, mysteriously i was billed an additional $200. dollars. Now every week i receive a harassing text of owing $200. I have called, I politely emailed and texted. But no answer or response. I requested a meeting with their accounts manager to show them a copy of their treatment plan and the payments I made that paid it in full. No response not even out of courtesy! Total I paid this practice $10,000 ! All to Denton Smiles. Their behavior can put responsible paying patients with good credit into a debt collection agency that ruins their credit! CAUTION: This facility does not keep their word nor respects their own treatment plans and bills they provide to patients. Even when you pay in full out of pocket and clarify insurance doesn’t cover it (which they already know) they’ll look for a reason to bill you a month or two AFTER you’ve already paid your bill in full. These are deceptive practices squeezing additional money out of responsible patients and worse ruining one’s good credit. Months later, I am still waiting for the appointment to settle the matter. Respectfully but terribly annoyed
My husband & I have been going here for our checkups for about 9 years & it's always a pleasant experience. We just started bringing our kids here too. The staff is always good at explaining what's going on & everyone is friendly.
Amazing place with great people who really care. Would recommend to all. You won’t be disappointed with them.
I brought my brother-in-law in for his 3 month cleaning that was included with the annual plan we paid for at his exam and cleaning 3 months ago. Morgan, the hygienist, did a super job and handled my family member with personable, professional, proficient care. We are grateful for the annual plan, in part because it keeps us coming in for the routine care that’s needed. Thanks Denton Smiles!
I would give 5 stars, but I’ve been here a few times and it seems as though their schedule is tight and things were rushed compared to times before. I say this because my X-rays were put in another patient’s folder because I think they were moving too fast. So things were a bit rushed, very short & sweet. If you like that—fantastic! But it’s nice to feel like you’re more than just another cleaning/patient. Hygienist is very good at her job—no pain whatsoever. Doctor is very nice, but saw her for maybe a full minute. Overall, I truly have no complaints other than I was in and out so quick. Take that as you will! Came back here to give you guys 5 stars ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I have been seeing Dr. Cobb for my Invisalign and everything has been great so far! At my most recent appointment I had to bring my 2 year old son. The staff really went above and beyond to entertain him while I had some work done. Amazing people and practice.
I had a great experience. I will definitely continue to use them. I have never been to a dentist that takes the time to go over what needs to be done. They took the time to measure my gums and over all health of my teeth. The eased my anxiety of going to the dentist. I was embarrassed of the condition of my teeth. Everyone that was there was great. Very happy with my experience.
I have been twice now. The first new patient exam and my first deep cleaning & 2 fillings. Dr. Tran was so sweet & really helped ease my nerves about receiving the procedure. Her assistant (I did not catch her name) also did some distracting techniques while receiving the shots which made the entire experience so much better. I transitioned to the hygienist afterwards, I needed a little more numbing once I started my deep cleaning & she did not hesitate to get me feeling comfortable. She was able to complete the cleaning in a little over an hour & answered a bunch of questions about home care afterwards. Overall I have been happy with this office so far.
The staff were great from the moment I walked in until the time I left. I had two teeth pulled within 10–15 minutes, and the process was quick and smooth. I’m leaving very happy—my mouth is numb of course, but I’m extremely satisfied with the outcome and the care I received. Highly recommend! Hugeeee shoutout to the team for taking care of me 🩷
