About DeWitt Dental Associates

DeWitt Dental Associates runs a general-dentistry practice set up for the everyday work most patients actually need in the Cherry Creek area of Denver. The clinic is built around the day-to-day work — not boutique marketing — and serves adults and kids in one familiar place. The shape of the practice fits patients who want a clear conversation about what's actually needed, with treatment staged around real priorities rather than a one-shot proposal on the first visit. If you're scoping a Cherry Creek dental option, this is a sensible practice to put on a short list of candidates and book a first visit with.

Service coverage spans the standard general-dentistry breadth: routine cleanings and exams, tooth-colored fillings, crowns and bridges, root canal treatment, basic extractions, and gum-disease management. The practice also handles after-hours emergency dental visits for cracked teeth or sudden pain when patients need them, alongside the routine preventive work. Restorations lean conservative — composite material rather than amalgam — and most needs are kept in-house, with specialty referrals reserved for cases that genuinely call for them rather than offered up front.

If you've recently moved into the area and want a no-drama dental home for the whole family, this is the kind of practice where booking a first cleaning is a reasonable opening move.

Cost positioning sits in the typical Denver general-dentistry range, with most major insurance plans accepted and clear pretreatment estimates before restorative work begins. Patients searching for affordable family dental care in Denver, dentist for the whole family in Denver, or long-time family dentist in Denver, CO commonly land at neighborhood practices like this one — generalists rather than narrow specialty offices. It suits families wanting consistency over many years, patients who value predictable scheduling, and anyone who'd rather have one trusted dentist see the same teeth across decades than rotate through a corporate group practice. The Cherry Creek location works for patients already running errands in this part of Denver, and parking and transit access tend to be straightforward for the surrounding blocks.

DeWitt Dental Associates on East 1st Avenue in Cherry Creek runs a general-dentistry practice covering cleanings, fillings, crowns, root canals, and basic emergency care for adults and kids for Denver families.

I'm a pretty new patient here so can only speak to my experience so far, but I'd definitely recommend Dr. Midgley and DeWitt Dental! The staff are very friendly and welcoming, and Dr. Midgley has made me feel comfortable and at ease during minor procedures like fillings. She's very warm, attentive and patient! For an experience that most people dread (visiting the dentist), she makes it very pleasant. 5 stars!

I was a new patient today, and I was very pleased with the experience. The dental assistant, the hygienist and the doctor were thorough, competent and friendly in a genuine way. I changed to this practice because of a change in my insurance, but I wish I had known about it sooner! I like them so much better than the previous dental practice I was using.

I was a patient at DeWitt Dental Associates a number of years ago. My experience there was not terrible in the sense of people being rude or unprofessional. The staff were generally polite, and I remember seeing a number of different hygienists and assistants over the years. But looking back, I would not choose to return. One issue was continuity. I do not remember having a strong relationship with any one dentist there. I believe I may have been seen by different dentists at different points, and the practice felt more like a rotating set of providers than a place where one dentist really knew my history and owned the care plan. The larger concern is the dental work itself. I went many years without cavities, and during my time there I started needing fillings. My recollection is that they were fairly conservative at first and watched some areas before deciding to fill them. That may have been reasonable, but one filling ended up being very deep, close to the pulp/root area. I remember being told at the time that this tooth could become a problem later because of how deep the work had to go. Years later, that tooth did become a problem. Another dentist later commented that they thought they could see darker areas behind the filling and wondered whether all of the decay had been removed. I cannot independently verify that, but I can say that the tooth eventually had to be ground down significantly and crowned. There was another filling done there that a later dentist repeatedly described to me as unusually large, awkward, and concerning. Again, I am describing my experience and what I was told later by other providers, not claiming to know exactly what happened clinically. But it was frustrating to have subsequent dentists look at work from DeWitt and raise questions about the quality or long-term durability of it. To be clear, I do not remember the practice as rude or dismissive. My concern is that multiple teeth treated there later became the subject of concern from other dentists, and those teeth ultimately required more serious dental work. Based on that experience, I would tell people to ask careful questions about who is actually overseeing their care, how much continuity they will have with one dentist, and whether any deep or complex fillings should be reviewed carefully before moving forward.

I want this review to help other patients who may be in a similar situation. This office requires payment at every visit before they bill insurance. Each time I paid, I was overcharged compared to what my insurance later determined I actually owed. After my insurance processed the claims and issued the Explanation of Benefits (EOB), it showed that I had paid more than required. Even after I received the EOB and had my insurance called and send the same documents directly to the office, I had to repeatedly contact them to address the overcharges. Even after I confirmed with insurance that they had sent the full payment and it had been received the staff disputed or dismissed the information rather than acknowledging the discrepancy and processing a refund. As of now, after many calls they have sent a partial refund. However, they still owe me money from those overpayments. In the midst of all this I received a letter stating they can no longer provide dental care to me. I recommend that anyone considering this office carefully review their billing, keep copies of all insurance EOBs, and verify charges closely. Reply: there’s no confusion, documents from insurance have been faxed and payments have been received.

Listen to the one star reviews. Please. I'm begging you. Let me be the ginuea pig so you don't get taken advantage of. The negative reviews are not lying to you. Don't get roped into a bill for hundreds of dollars for services they did not provide like I did. Go anywhere else. They code for specific services they know insurance doesn’t cover to get more money. On top of that, my cleaning appointment took over 2 hours. Let's be clear, 1.5 hours of that was spent in the waiting room and waiting for x-rays. 10 minutes was spent on the cleaning (for which they coded and charged me for a deep clean so my insurance wouldn't cover it). Let me say, this was the lightest dental cleaning I have ever had AND the most time I have ever spent just sitting and waiting for a dentist. The front desk staff basically ignored me- they were on the phone. I stood there for quite some time trying to figure out if they needed anything or if I should leave. The doc and assistant were polite and knowledgeable, but not for the hundreds of dollars they charge.

I have been seeing Dr. Redford for 10+ years and followed him to DeWitt Dental Associates. He is professional and detail-oriented, performing excellent work, including basic oral health checks, cavity fillings, and a crown. He uses professional and kind hygienists, with a gentle touch. I've been able to get an appointment when I've had a dental emergency ASAP. I absolutely recommend him for dental care.
