Downtown Dental Center is a general dental practice located at 333 Washington Street, Suite 341, in the Downtown Crossing area of Boston, Massachusetts. The practice occupies a suite in one of the city’s most active retail and business corridors, serving patients from the surrounding downtown neighborhoods and the broader Boston metro area.
General dentistry at this location covers the core services needed for routine oral health. Preventive appointments—comprehensive examinations, X-rays, and professional cleanings—allow the dental team to monitor the condition of teeth and gums regularly and address emerging issues before they progress. Consistent preventive care is among the most important factors in maintaining oral health over the long term and limiting the need for more extensive restorative work.
Restorative general dentistry procedures, including fillings and other standard treatments, are available for patients whose examinations reveal dental decay or damage. The practice is structured to serve patients who need a reliable general dentist in the downtown Boston area, within easy reach of major transit connections. Patients should request written cost estimates before committing to any proposed treatment.
Downtown Crossing is one of the most active pedestrian zones in Boston, and a dental practice in this location is convenient for patients who pass through the area on their commute or who work nearby. The ability to schedule appointments close to a transit hub reduces the friction of getting to and from dental care, particularly for patients coming from different parts of the metro area.
Washington Street at Downtown Crossing is one of Boston’s most connected transit nodes, served by Downtown Crossing station on the Red and Orange Lines. The location is also within easy walking distance of Park Street (Red and Green Lines) and State Street (Orange and Blue Lines), making this dental office accessible from virtually every part of the city and many surrounding communities.

I love Dr. Zavarro! He’s a great guy and very thorough. I felt very cared and he treated my concerns with utmost respect.
WORST FRONT DESK STAFF EVER!
I love this place! So professional but at the same time you feel like family. Very welcoming, comfortable and fantastic work!
Dr. Zavaro has been my dentist for the past 2 years now, and every experience I've had with him has been wonderful. I have many persisting dental issues that he has taken care of for me, most notably a root canal and a crown. Any questions I had have been answered by either him or a member of his friendly staff. Any time I've told him I felt pain while he was drilling he stopped to give me more novocaine. Outwardly, Dr. Z might seem cold and harsh, but that's just him focusing on his work. He's a nice, kind man who truly cares about the well being of his patients. I travel from my current location in Ohio, just to have dental work done by him. I would, and have recommended his services to my family and friends because of the wonderful job he has done on my teeth.
I have been to many dentists before, but this place is one of a kind. Professional, and knowledgeable doctor. I am very satisfied with my teeth after seeing Dr. Zavaro. Great family doctor. Thank you Dr. Zavaro
This place is rather pretentious and overpriced. First, one star off because they tried to tell me I needed $10K in gum grafts immediately within 20 minutes of my arrival (even though I had some just 1 year prior with a different periodontist). My gums are fine. Maybe not perfect, but not bad enough to warrant such alarm. I've visited dentists regularly every 6 months since I was a child and have no cavities, so I feel this alarm was merely mercenary. Another star off because they claimed I would be covered immediately for a portion of that procedure even though my insurance clearly states I need to be covered for a year before having any periodontic work done. Maybe spend more time on training competent staff than on fancy front tables? A third star off for the poor quality of the xrays. I ended up transferring to a different dentist with higher reviews. When they received the xrays, they were mystified by the poor quality. They were nearly all missing the root part of the tooth - only the most important part to see on an xray. They couldn't take new ones because my insurance wouldn't have paid for them. For the price, these xrays should have been top notch. All I remember from the xray process was the lady jamming a sharp cardboard tray into my mouth so that I left with multiple scraps inside my mouth. Unpleasant to say the least. So while this place is slick and fancy, I think you can find better and more patient-centered service elsewhere.
