Dr. Brian T. van Aelst Periodontal Associates

I had gone to the hygienist (Adrian) at the practice of Dr. Van Aelst several years ago until she left. When I recently called and left a message for information to set up an appointment, the office eventually called back and left a voicemail. I returned the call 3 different times over a couple of days with my number each time and did not receive a response, so I left that in a review. Then the office called. I tried to get an appointment for an exam, cleaning, and two extractions. The receptionist (Corin?) said she would see if Dr. Van Aelst could do that and that she would call me back. I removed my review since she had finally returned my call. Once again, I have not received a response, and it has been about a week since the call. She had informed me that they have been slow and that the hygienist is only there on Mondays and Fridays, so it seems they would have had time to let me know something by now. It is unfortunate that this has happened not just once, but twice.

I first reached out to Dr. Brian T. van Aelst a year ago. It has now been about a year and a half, and I wanted to wait before writing this review so I could speak to the long-term results, not just one procedure. I have lived with periodontal disease for many years and have nine implants. For a long time I dealt with gum bleeding, inflammation, and pain. Dr. van Aelst is an expert who is clearly passionate about treating periodontal disease. His approach is conservative. Instead of extracting more teeth, he recommended treating my gums and protecting what I still have. I had seen several other periodontists. Many were aggressive and wanted to pull unstable teeth and replace them with more implants. That did not bring my gum disease under control, and my condition got worse. About a year and a half, Dr. van Aelst performed gum maintenance surgery. The procedure addressed several teeth and gum areas and lasted about three hours. I will not forget how detailed and patient he was. That kind of work comes from real passion and a genuine desire to get the best possible result. During those three hours he took two or three short breaks. After each one he returned refreshed, with the same energy, focus, and care as at the beginning. I remember thinking he is the best kind of specialist: unusually dedicated, deeply knowledgeable, and extremely attentive to detail. He has the focus of someone who truly loves this work. This year, by accident, I bit down on a hard bone and completely broke two teeth. He placed two dental implants for me. The entire process was just as conscientious, meticulous, and thorough as it was last year. Just as important, he did not stop at surgery. He created a comprehensive treatment plan for me. A year later, the results have been excellent—better than anything I had experienced before. I trust him and look forward to continuing to work with him.

Great experience. Also very flexible with the pricing based on my situation. Definitely recommend coming here for tooth extraction or even just a simple clean. P.S i got back tooth…putting it under my pillow as we speak

Dr. Van Aelst and his staff were excellent in caring for my tooth extraction and implant. They answered my questions and concerns very thoroughly and in a manner that was understandable. I would certainly go back to them if I needed any more oral work done.

First time patient here. Super clean office! I was warmly welcomed by Nancy when I walked in. They used my X-rays from a dentist visit from 5 months ago so that saved me some money. I don't remember the lady's name that took my dental history but so was super cool. I was recommended to get scaling and root planing done on all 4 quadrants. I got it done the same day. I haven't met Dr. Van Aelst yet, which is okay because my gums feels some much better now. I look forward to seeing him on December for a follow up. Thank you! P.S. Dr. van Aelst and Berta did a spectacular job comforting our 10 year old daughter for a much needed gum graft. The procedure was of course a success, however, their bed side manners were above and beyond our expectations for every visit. They explained the entire process and what to expect for each stage of the healing process in great detail, as well as, answering all of our questions. Most importantly our 10 year old daughter was extremely comfortable throughout the entire process for each and every visit. Not to mention, the front office staff which provides a relaxing and calm atmosphere, thus setting the tone for each visit. Ultimately, Dr. van Aelst and his staff are first class all the way and we recommend his services without any hesitations!

I went to Dr. Brian T. Van Aelst due to gum recession. From the first phone call to his office to set an appointment I felt so welcomed. I was provided with details about what to expect from the staff as well as Dr. Van Aelst. The lines of communication were excellent, and when it was time for the procedure I was relaxed. The procedures went very well, as they had anticipated. My recovery time was short, and I felt well taken care of. There were several follow-up appointments and I always looked forward to interacting with the staff. I will recommend Dr. Van Aelst for periodontal work and I will definitely return if I ever need to.

Dr. Van Aelst preformed a root removal day of and worked quickly with my dentist and me to get me in on such short notice. He and his staff provided me with excellent service and are very accommodating. They helped calm my nerves and were very helpful with providing post op care instructions. They are very responsive over the phone and were able to provide me with comfort when my stitches started to come out earlier than I expected (B.T.W. google is wrong only took 3-4 days). I would recommend anyone to go to their office.
