About Dr. Cooper and Associates

Dr. Cooper and Associates is located at the Lower Level, 1625 K Street Northwest in Washington DC's 20006 zip code — a lower-level suite in a K Street professional building in the Farragut Square district. K Street at the 1600 block runs through the heart of DC's lobbying and professional services corridor, one of the most intensely commercial stretches of street in the capital. A lower-level (LL) suite often signals a practice that traded street-level visibility for affordability or larger floor space in the same building.

The Dr. Cooper and Associates name combines a named-dentist identity with an associates structure, indicating a small group practice built around a lead practitioner with additional providers under the same clinical organization. This structure provides patients with the personal provider relationship associated with a named dentist while offering the scheduling flexibility that associates bring when the primary dentist is unavailable.

General dental care at this practice covers comprehensive oral examinations, professional cleanings, restorative treatments, diagnostic imaging, and management of the dental conditions that the downtown DC professional patient base presents. K Street's professional population accesses dental care during business hours, and a lower-level suite in a K Street building serves the same patient base as street-level practices in the same corridor.

The lower level at 1625 K Street NW is accessible from the Farragut North Metro station and the K Street corridor, with parking in surrounding commercial structures. For downtown DC patients who want a named-dentist group practice with a K Street address and the personal relationship of a Cooper Associates practice, this LL suite at 1625 K Street provides accessible care in the Farragut Square district.

I would highly recommend Dr. Cooper. He's a phenomenal dentist. In addition, Marissa, is an incredible dental hygienist. I've been going to them for a number of years. And the front desk staff is very nice and competent at helping you figure out your coverage and answering whatever questions you may have. I feel this is the best dental practice in DC. They offer outstanding care.

No one likes going to the dentist, that is of course if you have to go to Dr. Cooper and Associates. I actually look forward to my visits, Dr. Cooper is always straight up with me and my decision to have any suggested work done is on me and no one else. I've had referrals for outside work which has also been amazing. So even the other professionals that his practice has to work with are also true to their profession. Lastly, Tran is the best. We talk about so many things during my visit and she knows my family and remembers everything that I share with her. It's the best and I always refer anyone I know who needs dental care to this office. Such a fabulous team of people!

From jump the office comes across as very professional, but my interactions end up being disorganized, misleading, and a waste of my time. As much as I want to enjoy coming here there are always issues. Whether it is surprise billing, receiving services I didn’t know there would be an additional charge for, to even baited and switched into getting Invisalign, I want to share my experience. I’ve also referred two other people who shared the issues with surprise billing and being convinced they needed Invisalign, against their true desire. There are also additional views on YELP, under Cooper & Associates. Issue 1: I requested a replacement retainer, the old school kind with a wire in the front. I never stopped wearing my retainer it just cracked a bit, so my teeth didn’t shift. Was told he didn’t do that kind but would give me a clear retainer. It was a nightmare, the few months I thought I would have the trays ended up being 2+ years of appointments. The Invisalign messed up my bite completely, and to this day has never been the same. I had jaw pain and went through multiple rounds of Invisalign to correct what I never truly asked for. Also now I’m stuck having to pay $500-600 every time I need new trays and have to swap the trays every 6-12 months. Had I know this I would have never gotten Invisalign. (Oh wait, I never want it, I was told this would be a retainer solution. It’s not, it made things worse. I went from needing to wear a retainer to maybe three times a week to now if I don’t wear it after two days putting the Invisalign on will be tight. It’s beyond miserable.) Issue 2: I was receiving a vague bill for almost two years for a service I was talked into receiving and then also paid for at the time of my appointment. I look on my credit card bill, lo and behold the $600 payment is there. I reach MULTIPLE times via call and emails and they could never reply with details on what the bill is for Issue 3: I booked a single appointment for a cleaning, and it was booked out three weeks out with the understanding I’d see the dentist and get the cleaning the same day. I take off and planned my schedule around that. A few days before, I get a voicemail saying they need to reschedule. When I call back, I’m suddenly told the appointment has to be split into two visits because I can’t have both the visit with the doctor and cleaning on the same day—which directly contradicts what I was told when booking. Then they claim I was never scheduled for both in one visit, which makes no sense given the rescheduling call. Now they can’t get me in for another three weeks—seven weeks total since I first reached out—after I already took time off and planned my week around this. So back to square 1 left with no appointments. I found a few new dentist offices I want to try but I’m so traumatized by what happened with my Invisalign I’m worried about it them not sending over my correct records. (I also reached out and asked what I need to do to get my records transferred over and no reply.)

Dr. Coopers team really is the best! Can’t really explain it but I really look forward to chatting with the front desk staff. They’re the kindest ladies and really helpful with appointments. I also just trust everyone here with my teeth. After a long decade of working on my teeth I just feel so grateful to be in the hands of Dr. Cooper & associates. Everyone’s amazing.
