About Dr Garrett Pediatric Dentistry

Dr. Garrett Pediatric Dentistry is at suite 180, 8241 Bruceville Road in Sacramento's Valley Hi and North Laguna neighbourhood — a residential area in south Sacramento accessible from the Bruceville Road corridor connecting Valley Hi to the Elk Grove and South Sacramento communities. Dr. Garrett Lee, DDS operates as the solo paediatric dental practitioner at this address.

Dr. Garrett Lee completed two years of additional post-doctoral training in a hospital-based paediatric dental residency — the standard pathway to paediatric dentistry board certification. Hospital-based paediatric residencies train dentists in the full scope of paediatric dental care including care for medically compromised children, patients with physical or cognitive disabilities, and children who require general anaesthesia for dental procedures. The hospital setting provides clinical exposure to medically complex cases that office-based paediatric practice encounters less often, and the residency-trained perspective is evident in the practice's stated expertise in medically compromised and special needs paediatric patients.

Special needs dental care in a paediatric setting requires specific adaptations: behaviour management modifications for patients with autism spectrum disorders, communication adjustments for patients with language delays or hearing impairment, physical positioning accommodations for patients with mobility limitations, and pharmacological management for patients who cannot cooperate with standard chairside dental care. A paediatric dentist with hospital residency training in special needs care is significantly better prepared for these clinical presentations than a general dentist offering children's dentistry as part of a broader general practice.

As a solo practitioner, Dr. Garrett Lee provides care at a personal level that differs structurally from corporate paediatric group practices with multiple rotating providers. The child-specific clinical environment, appointment pacing, and the practitioner's direct knowledge of each patient's history and behaviour patterns across years of care reflect the clinical continuity that solo practice provides.

For Valley Hi, South Sacramento, and Elk Grove families whose children need a paediatric dental specialist — particularly those with medically compromised conditions, special needs, or children who have had difficulty with standard general practice dental care — Dr. Garrett's Bruceville Road address provides residency-trained paediatric care in the south Sacramento community.

“As a solo practitioner I will be able to provide care on a more personal level for each family when compared to a large corporate practice with several offices.” Dr Garrett Lee completed two years of additional training in a hospital based residency, and has expertise in caring for patients who are medically compromised or have special needs.

Dr. Garrett is a phenomenal pediatric dentist! He is caring, gentle, compassionate, and genuinely loves working with children. You can feel his kindness and dedication from the moment you walk into the office. My son is now 15 years old, and we first brought him to Dr. Garrett when he was just 1 year old. Over the past 14 years, Dr. Garrett has remained the same kind-hearted, patient, and trustworthy professional we met on that very first visit. He has a wonderful way of making children feel comfortable and at ease, which is such a gift in pediatric dentistry. We love Dr. Garrett and are incredibly grateful for the exceptional care he has provided our family and highly recommend him to anyone looking for a pediatric dentist!

Dr Garret is an awesome dentist for kids and his staff always make my little girl super comfortable. She was so proud to go in the big girl chair this time and we were very grateful the hygienist explained every step before and during to her to help her stay calm. I always recommend Dr Garret to everyone who asks for the best kids dentist!

We were referred to Dr. Garrett’s pediatric dental office after our child’s regular dentist could not complete her fillings due to anxiety and recommended a specialist. What we experienced instead was disorganization, mixed communication, and a total lack of patience or compassion toward a scared child. January 8th – Intake Appointment We arrived for our intake and were roomed, then asked to leave the room because the doctor was still with another patient. We waited over an hour. Before leaving, we scheduled the treatment appointment for January 22nd. I received a text confirming 9:00 AM, but the business card they gave me said 9:30 AM. That should have been corrected then — it wasn’t. January 22nd – Turned Away I arrived believing our appointment was at 9:30, based on the card they wrote. I was told I was “30 minutes late” and was turned away without any attempt to accommodate the mix-up. The tone from the front desk immediately changed once they realized who I was. I was told to reschedule and left feeling embarrassed and dismissed. January 28th – Denied Treatment Again My husband brought our daughter in for the rescheduled appointment. They gave him a protocol sheet that referred to nitrous oxide as “magic air,” yet when it was time, they called it “laughing gas.” Our daughter had never seen a mask before and became scared and started crying. Instead of showing patience, explaining gently, or helping her feel safe, they gave up immediately. At 9:05 AM, five minutes after the appointment started they asked her to leave. No reassurance. No calming. No effort. This is a pediatric dental office that claims to specialize in anxious children, yet they showed zero tolerance for normal fear. A minor was denied treatment after multiple visits, wasted time, and emotional stress — all because this office is poorly run and lacks basic compassion. We will never return, and I strongly caution other parents, especially those with anxious children.
