About Dr. Jeffrey Bayme : Cosmetic Family Dentist

The Medcom Street address places Dr. Jeffrey Bayme inside Trident Professional Park, the ring of medical offices wrapped around Trident Medical Center off Rivers Avenue in the 29406 stretch of North Charleston. In practical terms that means signposted parking, a building people already know how to find, and a simple approach from Northwoods, Ladson, Goose Creek, the Highway 78 corridor toward Summerville and the upper end of I-26. If you already see specialists in that complex, you can stack appointments into one trip rather than making two. From south of the Neck, meaning downtown, James Island or Folly Beach, this is closer to a twenty-five minute drive up the interstate, and the Saturday morning session is usually what makes it worth planning around.

Dr. Bayme has taught as a clinical instructor at the MUSC College of Dental Medicine since 1985, and the practice leans toward esthetic and restorative work: crowns and bridges, veneers, dentures and partials, implants, whitening, tooth-colored fillings and bonding, alongside routine checkups and periodontal cleanings. Veneers are the case type that draws most of the questions. A veneer is a thin ceramic shell bonded to the front of a tooth after a small amount of enamel is reduced, usually a fraction of a millimeter, so that the finished tooth sits flush rather than bulked forward. A wax-up or a chairside mock-up previews the shape before anything permanent is cut. Two limits deserve saying out loud: the enamel reduction is not reversible, so choosing veneers means committing to having veneers maintained for life, and porcelain does not respond to whitening gel. Whatever shade the ceramic is made in is the shade it stays, which is why whitening, if you want it, belongs before the veneers are fabricated rather than after.

Between the preparation visit and the fit sits a laboratory stage of roughly two weeks, spent in temporaries that are cemented lightly on purpose so they lift off cleanly. They chip more easily than the finished ceramic and they are not the shape you are buying. Judge the result at the try-in, in daylight, with your lips relaxed, before anything is bonded for good.

Scheduling is broader than most single-dentist offices in the area. Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday run 8am to 6pm, Monday and Friday are shorter, and Saturday covers 8am to noon. That weekend window is the practical answer for patients who cannot take time out of a work day.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are Saturday appointments available?
Yes. The office opens Saturday mornings from 8am until noon, and that is the slot most working patients end up using. Midweek runs long as well, with Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday open 8am to 6pm, while Monday and Friday finish earlier. If you are driving up from downtown or James Island, the Saturday window avoids both the I-26 commute and the Rivers Avenue crawl.
Will veneers whiten later if my smile gets stained?
No. Porcelain does not respond to whitening gel the way natural enamel does, so the shade chosen when the veneers are made is the shade you keep. That is why whitening, if you want it, is done before the veneers are fabricated rather than afterwards. Natural teeth sitting beside or behind the veneers can still darken over the years, which is the usual reason people notice a mismatch later on.
Where exactly is the office on Medcom Street?
It sits in Trident Professional Park, the cluster of medical offices around Trident Medical Center off Rivers Avenue in the 29406 part of North Charleston. If you already visit specialists in that complex, the address will be familiar and the parking straightforward. From Northwoods, Ladson or Goose Creek it is a short hop. From downtown Charleston, plan on roughly twenty-five minutes up I-26.

This is by far the best dentistry practice I’ve ever experienced; and one of the top overall medical practices I’ve seen. This is that rare place that has an outstanding and empathetic dentist with an incredible staff. Just one example? Imagine having work done in the morning and the dentist calling you to see how you were doing that evening. This happened multiple times over the years.

Dr. Bayme and his staff are first class in every way. Cannot say enough good things about the best dentist and dental practice I have ever encountered. Recommend without reservations.

The moment we walk into Dr. Bayme’s office, all the staff are a pleasure to see. We genuinely believe that Dr. Bayme and his entire team are capable of training others in this profession to run a successful business. We truly admire this, and they are the “Chick-fil-A” of the dentistry industry. It is ALWAYS their “pleasure” to serve you!! We highly recommend Dr Bayme: Cosmetic Family Dentist. This team quite deserves to be the #1 Dentist in Charleston. Thank you, “Bayme-A-Team” we appreciate you all. D & A Weathers (smiling patients for over 8 years and counting)

I’ve been going to see Dr. Bayme for several years now and I can say both the Dr. and his staff are incredibly compassionate, understanding, and accommodating in my experience. Ive seen so many dentists over the years, but very few of them care about your health over their bottom line. Dr. Bayme (and his great team) are the ones that care. Whether you’ve never had dental issues, or (if you’re like me) you’ve had plenty, Dr.Bayme is the one to see.

Dr Bayme & his staff are very kind & caring & professional! He is definitely the gentle dentist & very reassuring that he is providing the best possible care. So far he has removed 2 old fillings. He replaced one filling with composite & the other tooth he is hoping to preserve with a crown as it has numerous cracks. I highly recommend Dr Bayme & his staff as the care they have provided is truly outstanding!

Needed an emergency consult. His office took my call on a Saturday, found a way to work me in, did a great job explaining costs and considerations. Next level customer care. The Dr and Assistant were sooooooooo nice and honest in their assessment….even letting me know that I could wait and get back to my regular dentist if I wanted(I was visiting the area). I chose to let Dr B repair the tooth and let me just say……his work, level of warmth and engagement during the procedure, and follow-up afterward are something we don’t see enough of these days. Great guy with a wonderful staff that makes for the overall best experience possible!!!! I wish I could take this office back to Charlotte with me.
