Wouldn’t recommend at all

I would like to share my excellent experience with Dr. Louis Gavin and the medical team at the hospital, which was one of the best treatments I have ever received. For years, I had been suffering from temporomandibular joint (TMJ) problems and an inability to fully open my mouth, which significantly impacted my daily life. From my first visit to Dr. Louis, I noticed his deep understanding of my condition. He conducted a thorough assessment, explained the initial diagnosis, and then ordered an MRI to confirm it. After the MRI results came back, the report perfectly matched the initial diagnosis, which greatly increased my confidence in his expertise. He then developed a comprehensive treatment plan that included jaw surgery, simple jaw exercises, PRP injections, and five physical therapy sessions. Just two weeks after the surgery, I began to feel a significant improvement, exactly as Dr. Gavin had told me before treatment. At my post-operative check-up, he provided me with new exercises to help increase my jaw opening range and strengthen my muscles. With continued adherence to the exercises and physical therapy, my condition improved dramatically, reaching nearly 90%. A month later, the doctor ordered a CT scan to confirm the results, and to my pleasant surprise, the scan showed that all my jaw joint and cartilage problems had completely resolved. Today, I feel that the pain I endured for so many years has vanished entirely, a truly indescribable feeling. My treatment journey with Dr. Lewis continues, as I am currently undergoing treatment for my lower jaw using a mandibular brace worn while sleeping to realign it. I hope this will also help improve my sleep problems. I extend my sincere gratitude to Dr. Lewis for his professionalism, expertise, and patient care. I also thank all the medical staff at the hospital for their excellent treatment and care. I confidently recommend Dr. Lewis Gavin to anyone suffering from temporomandibular joint or jaw problems.

I have never had a doctor telling me i have a jaw infection from far distance as he did not even examine me nor check my ears or jaw. Sitting opposite me behind his desk and asking questions only, i could have done that with AI and probably got at least an idea of what i had and certainly would have been a lot cheaper!!! Not a good experience, did not expect that kind of commercial visit.

After struggling with disequilibrium, tinnitus, and temporalis/masseter/neck/shoulder pain for an extended period of around 1 year, I approach Dr Luis Gavin in February of 2026. Following an assessment, it was suggested that Temporomandibular Joint Disorder ("TMD") could be a likely cause. As a first attempt, we together for a conservative approach, utilising botox into the masseter, and a fitted mouth guard. We trialled this for three months, to assess any benefits. Sadly, it did not have the desired affect. Prior to assessing further options, we decided to confirm without doubt the diagnosis. Utilising an OPD x-ray, and an MRI scan, the results were clear, showing structural pathology that was unlikely to be resolved via conservative methods such as physio, botox, guards etc. (TMJ capsulitis, degenerative roughened articular surfaces, altered anterior disc position, jaw deviation, resulting in a dignosis of chronic TMD). Dr Luis and I assessed the results together, and opted for a minor minimally invasivally surgical procedure; anthrocentesis and anthroscopic corrections. Three days post surgery, I can already feel the benefits of relaxed muscles in the region, a jaw that does not deviate, and a reduction in tinnitus and disequilbrium. I look forward to following up with Dr Luis to continue rehabiliation and working together to ensure that the changes stick, and keeping future issues at bay. I highly recommend Dr Luis. I had an excellent experience with Dr. Luiz Gavin and his team throughout my TMJ surgery. From the initial detailed examination and MRI review through to the follow-up consultations, Dr. Gavin explained everything thoroughly and made sure I understood the diagnosis, proposed treatment and what to expect from the operation. Before surgery, he walked me through the procedure and planned outcome, ensuring I felt informed and comfortable. On the day of the operation, all pre-operative checks were completed professionally, and the anaesthetic consultant clearly explained that part of the process. Dr. Gavin and the surgical team also reviewed the plan with me again before the procedure, so I always knew what was happening. The operation team were excellent, and the nurses provided attentive and friendly care throughout my stay. The hospital facilities, room and food were all of a very high standard, making the overall experience as comfortable as possible. The post-operative care has also been excellent, with clear guidance and planned follow-up sessions to monitor my recovery. Although it is still early and I am waiting for the swelling to fully subside, my initial impression is that there has already been a significant improvement. I am very grateful to Dr. Gavin, the surgical team, nurses and hospital staff for the professionalism, care and reassurance they provided from start to finish. I had a TMJ procedure with Dr. Luis Gavin, and I couldn’t be happier with the results. Before the surgery, I had constant jaw clicking, pain, and there were times when it was difficult to open my mouth. Whenever I opened my mouth, my jaw would shift to the left, which was both uncomfortable and concerning. I also experienced frequent headaches and neck pain. After the procedure, I’ve noticed a significant improvement. My mouth now opens straight and centered instead of shifting to the left. The jaw clicking is completely gone, and my headaches have become much less frequent. The improvement in both my comfort and jaw function has made a big difference in my daily life. I had TMJ surgery with Dr Luis Gavin at Gargash Hospital in Dubai yesterday and wanted to share my experience so far. I had been searching for a TMJ specialist in Dubai for quite some time. My symptoms included tinnitus/ringing in both ears, a constant feeling of pressure and fullness in my ears, jaw and Eustachian tubes, as well as a misaligned bite. The symptoms became quite debilitating. I went through several investigations with different specialists, including ENT and neurology, with three MRI scans of the brain that ruled out any neurological causes, as well as physiotherapy, but none of them were able to identify the cause of the symptoms. Dr Luis suggested that the issue might be related to the temporomandibular joint (TMJ) and sent me for a TMJ-specific MRI. The scan showed clear dysfunction in both TMJ joints, including disc displacement and early arthritic changes, which finally gave a clear explanation for what had been going on. Once my insurance approval came through, the process moved very quickly. I was able to have the procedure done within two weeks at Gargash Hospital. The surgery was a minimally invasive TMJ procedure performed under general anaesthesia. Everything about the experience was extremely professional, exactly what you would expect from a top hospital in Dubai. From the first consultation through to the surgery itself, I always felt safe and well looked after. Dr Luis explained afterwards that the condition of both joints was actually worse than expected, and the procedure required more extensive work than originally anticipated. Despite that, everything went smoothly. I stayed one night in the hospital in a private room, which was very comfortable. The nursing staff were excellent, checking in regularly, making sure pain relief was managed properly, and generally making sure I was comfortable and supported throughout the night. It is still very early, but even one day after surgery I can already feel some improvement, especially with the feeling of pressure and fullness which had been one of the most uncomfortable symptoms. It is too early to draw conclusions about the tinnitus, but it already seems to have completely reduced in my left ear and somewhat in my right. Of course it is far too soon to know the final result, but the early signs are encouraging. I also want to mention Dr Luis’s assistant Lara, who was fantastic throughout the whole process. She helped coordinate everything, answered questions quickly, and made the whole experience much easier. TMJ problems can be a hidden cause of issues like tinnitus, ear pressure, and bite problems. The procedure itself is safe and straightforward when performed by the right specialist, and the experience at Gargash Hospital has been excellent so far. My journey with Dr Louise Gavin started back in 2015, when I was going through major headaches, ear pains, jaw stiffness and etc. I have selected major Dr consultants to check on the issues I was going through. I was getting some pain killers, sinus treatments , noise and ear cleaning and stuff like this. After a while , a very nice physician advised me to see Dr Luise , he mentioned the possibility of jaw problems. …. Make the story short , I never ever forget the night I arrived in the Clinic , in tears of excessive pain. He calmed me and asked me for 20 mins to follow some neck and jaw exercises. It was such a relieve , as I felt something happening….. fiat consultations, followed by full examinations , x- rays and equally important he took his time to educate me about the issues. I have a small jaw with crowded teeth , he removed two of my wisdom teeth, and I continued treatments , night guards etc. During and after COVID I dropped my routine , check up etc. ( not good at all ) then I got drawn in the work , stressful life scenarios , until last November I felt I really can’t take the sever constant headache and ear pains anymore. Again , I met with Dr Gavin, a full 360 x rays , and then he showed the full x- ray film and explained what really is happening to my jaw. Finally I decided to go through the procedures , on February 25, 2025. In very honest words , I have been in a very good caring hands , his excellent knowledgeable long time experiences, understand each individual cases, also his very professional team they all made it a smooth , comfortable experience for me. I am recovering at home , I still receive his checking on me messages. I will start my physio soon , followed by new dental night guard. I had a locked jaw that was long back, unknowingly it started my tinnitus. I’ve been suffering from tinnitus for almost 14 years now, hearing loss, vertigo and have been to lots of EENT’s. I never realized only when I had consultation with that my left jaw has long been dislocated thus affecting my hearing and hissing sounds which grow louder and annoying as the days go by.
