About Dr. Margaret Giruc

Dr. Margaret Giruc is a dental practice on 12th Street Southeast in the Central Area area of Salem, Oregon. Gum disease treatment ranges from a deeper professional cleaning for early inflammation through to more involved periodontal care once bone around the teeth has started to be affected. Bleeding gums are usually the earliest sign, and the early stage is reversible with proper cleaning and better daily plaque control.

Digital X-rays are a routine part of dental care because they show what a visual exam alone cannot — decay forming between teeth, bone loss below the gumline, and how developing adult teeth are positioned in children. They use a low radiation dose and are taken on a schedule matched to individual risk rather than at every single visit.

Left untreated, small dental problems tend not to stay small. A minor cavity that would have been a straightforward filling can progress to needing root canal treatment and a crown, and early gum inflammation that would have reversed with a good cleaning can progress toward bone loss around the teeth. Catching things early is generally the difference in both effort and cost.

Continuity matters in dental care — seeing the same practice over time means your history, X-rays, and any patterns in your oral health are already on file, rather than starting from scratch at each visit. That familiarity is part of what a regular dental home offers beyond any single appointment.

Dental anxiety is common, and most practices are used to working with nervous patients — through clear explanations of what is about to happen, a slower pace where needed, and sedation options for patients who want them. Avoiding the dentist out of anxiety tends to make eventual treatment more involved, not less.

Children benefit from starting dental visits early, generally by their first birthday or within six months of the first tooth coming through, mainly so they become familiar with the setting before any treatment is actually needed. Establishing that routine early tends to make ongoing checkups far less stressful for both child and parent. This page has the practice's contact details and full service list. Frequently Asked Questions

Where is Dr. Margaret Giruc located in Salem?
Dr. Margaret Giruc is on 12th Street Southeast in the Central Area area of Salem, Oregon (97301).
What days is Dr. Margaret Giruc open?
Dr. Margaret Giruc is open Monday through Thursday. Contact the practice through this page to confirm current appointment times before travelling.
What services does Dr. Margaret Giruc offer?
Listed services at Dr. Margaret Giruc include Gum Disease Treatment. The full list is shown on this page.
Why do my gums bleed even though I brush twice a day?
Bleeding usually reflects where you are cleaning rather than how often. Plaque left along the gumline and between teeth causes inflammation there, which is exactly the area brushing alone tends to miss, so flossing or interdental brushes matter.
What are the early signs of gum disease?
Gums that bleed when brushing or flossing, redness and puffiness along the gumline, and persistent bad breath are the usual first indicators. Bleeding is the one most often dismissed, and it is the clearest early warning.
Is it normal for teeth to be sensitive to cold?
Mild, brief sensitivity is common and often relates to exposed root surfaces or worn enamel. Sensitivity that lingers after the cold is removed is more significant and worth having examined, as it can indicate the nerve is involved.

My semi-annual dental appointment and teeth cleaning today was excellent. Christy’s cleaning was thorough, and she explained her findings after checking my gums and cleaning my teeth. Dr. Giruc checked me afterwards and was available to answer any questions. Her practice uses up to date technology in every aspect. I highly recommend Dr. Giruc and her excellent hygienists and office staff.

I LUV coming to Dr Guric’s office. Everyone is always so friendly and welcoming. Dr Guric takes the time to explain what needs to be done and I know she is a highly respected dentist in our area. On another occasion I had a situation come up and, Dr Guric encountered some challenges given the situation with my shallow root system. She referred me onto my oral surgeon for which I was given his expert opinion. However, there was another issue that came up to where we had to revisit a bridge option. Dr. Guric came back to me and fully explained several options. At this point, I felt that I could make a well-informed decision. She is so knowledgeable, kind and understanding. Thank you for your time and candor Dr. Guric. It’s no wonder all your patients speak so highly of you! 💕

I have been looking for a great dentist and I found an excellent one with Dr. Guic. The facilities are very clean, I have been able to make appointments very quickly. The staff is very helpful and the assistants are wonderful. I highly recommend Dr. Guic. She will tell you exactly what she is going to do before each procedure before starting. She is very knowledgeable in her field and quickly does her work with exceptional skill. I am very lucky to have found her. Also, she is very reasonable for dental procedures. You can't go wrong in hiring her and the staff to take great care of you.

I avoided the dentist for a decade due to a lot of factors outside of my control and a general dislike of going to the dentist after tons of orthodontic work as a kid with less-compassionate care teams. Dr Giruc and her team got me through restoring my dental health with full transparency of my care, always happy to explain the process, my options, and strategizing when to schedule procedures for the best outcome with my insurance and out of pocket costs. The office is friendly, bright, and clean. I feel comfortable on my visits and no longer dread seeing the dentist, even if I know I’ll be getting a tougher procedure done.

I called first thing this morning with a suspected cavity, among other issues, and they were able to get me in within a couple hours of my call…as a new patient, which is unheard of! Shannon, Dental Assistant, was so incredibly kind and thorough. As someone with chronic health conditions, I appreciated how gentle and reassuring she was, explaining everything as she went. Dr Giruc came in to meet me and was absolutely wonderful! She took the time to understand my health issues as a whole, and I didn’t feel the least bit rushed. She assured me that all of my issues can be resolved, without even a hint of judgement. I’m looking forward to my cleaning with Kristi soon! I’ve always dreaded dental work (which is why I’m in this position), but after today’s experience, I know I’m in fantastic and capable hands! So, I’ll shout it from the rooftops, this office is 10/10! Highly recommend! Edited to add: I had my cleaning with Kristi last week, and she is FANTASTIC! Very thorough, but with a gentle touch. A great balance of praising my good habits, with friendly suggestions on what I can improve in my routine. You can tell everyone in this office really vibes well together. It shows in their patient care.

Dr. Giruc and her team are probably the best dentist office that I have ever experienced. Every time I go in for a check up, it feels like I am meeting up with old friends. Dr. Giruc is very professional and very thorough. I never leave her office feeling insecure about my dental health. Heather and Shay always have kinds words and share life stories that make me feel welcome, while also putting my mind at ease about the procedure I am having. I would recommend Dr. Giruc's office 10 out of 10 times!!

Everything is handled professionally. No waiting at the reception desk to check in. The receptionist is friendly and accommodating. The wait for the appointment was short. I arrived at the exact appointment time and was escorted to the exam room almost immediately. The technician was friendly and gentle while completing my cleaning. Dr. Giruc's exam and X-rays confirmed the need for additional interventions, which were scheduled in the exam room. Dr. Giruc was her usual charming, enthusiastic self, always friendly and kind. Before leaving the office, I was provided with a written estimate of costs after the insurance payment for the projected dental work.
