I sought a second opinion with Dr. Mellas and had an excellent experience. The periodontal assistant and Dr. Mellas listened attentively to my concerns, reviewed my records, examined my gums, and offered an alternative and more reasonable treatment plan than what I had. They showed a commitment to patient education by explaining the bacterial process underlying gum disease and how I could prevent further damage by home care (including a WaterPik, which no other provider ever recommended to me but should have) and 3-month professional cleanings. I felt heard and well cared for, and I will return!
