About Dr. Ryaz Ansari, DDS
Based on Farmington Avenue in West Hartford, Connecticut, Dr. Ryaz Ansari, DDS is a dental practice serving the area. General dentistry covers the routine and restorative care most people need most often — examinations, cleanings, fillings, and preventive checks that catch problems while they are still small and inexpensive to treat. Regular attendance, roughly every six months for most patients, is what makes that early-catch approach actually work.
Continuity matters in dental care — seeing the same practice over time means your history, X-rays, and any patterns in your oral health are already on file, rather than starting from scratch at each visit. That familiarity is part of what a regular dental home offers beyond any single appointment.
Dental anxiety is common, and most practices are used to working with nervous patients — through clear explanations of what is about to happen, a slower pace where needed, and sedation options for patients who want them. Avoiding the dentist out of anxiety tends to make eventual treatment more involved, not less.
Children benefit from starting dental visits early, generally by their first birthday or within six months of the first tooth coming through, mainly so they become familiar with the setting before any treatment is actually needed. Establishing that routine early tends to make ongoing checkups far less stressful for both child and parent.
Payment and insurance arrangements vary by practice and by treatment, so it is worth asking directly what is covered and what options exist for anything that is not, rather than assuming either way. Getting that clarified before treatment starts avoids surprises once it is underway.
Beyond any single treatment, most dental visits start with an examination — checking for decay, reviewing the gums, and looking at existing fillings or crowns — often alongside X-rays where there is a reason to look between or beneath teeth. That groundwork is what a dentist uses to explain any findings and set out next steps before you leave. I must be an outlier in the scheme of reviews here. I needed to get two failed root canal teeth removed, the very last two molars on the upper left. The surgery itself went well and the anesthesiologist was great. Despite an Injection of the extended release pain medicine, I was in a 5/10 pain within a few hours after surgery. By the next day I developed massive ulcers on my gums that were incredibly painful. I called the office and left a message, no one responded. Saturday I called the on call doctor to ask for some viscous lidocaine and he said he doesn’t do that. The pain was so bad I sent photos to the office Monday. They had me come in, he gave me some topical numbing gel which helped but still not as good as the lidocaine wash would have. Later that night a stitch came loose and was hanging down. They were not dissolvable and it had only been five days. I called after hours and got a call back quickly to which he told me to cut the stitch and pull it out. The next morning I woke up with a bruise on my cheek from the bleeding. The pain continued and started to hurt my cheek bone, orbital socket and temple on the left side. I then noticed a bone spur poking out of my gum which k was red and painful ( I have since seen 3 more in different places). When I went to my 2 week follow up, my apt was 10:15, I didn’t get called in until 10:50. The assistant who went to remove the remaining stitch stabbed me right in the surgical area with the scissors. The doctor came in around 11:20, briefly looked at everything, said the body would round out the bone spur during healing (?) that with an implant I wouldn’t feel it, or if it’s still there they would smooth it out when doing the implant …. Just this morning a fairly large piece of bone had fallen out into my hand from the area where the stitch had come out early. I don’t know if it’s donor bone from the graft, or a piece of native bone that worked it’s way out… but either way I will not be returning to get the implant done.
I got my wisdom teeth removed with them a while ago and although I was scared, it was mostly a positive experience! Jackie was great and super helpful during the check in process! Dr Ansari was amazing during my wisdom teeth removal. He was very professional and made sure I was comfortable the whole time! I’m taking off one star because Taylor was very rude and had a bad attitude! She was extremely short tempered and whenever I’d ask her something she’d roll her eyes which is unprofessional for a surgical assistant.
Dr Ventura and the assistants were wonderful, very positive energy and comforting. My wisdom teeth procedure was quick and painless, I had minimal swelling and no pain afterwards. I’m very happy I chose to come here and I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for professional and proper care!
My daughter just got all 4 wisdom teeth removed and the staff were amazing! Dr. Ansari and the anesthesiologist explained everything to us both and yesenia, Jennifer and Jackie were very helpful! So thank you all very much, we even got a followup call a few hrs later to see how she was doing!
I was seen for a complicated wisdom teeth extraction. After seeing multiple oral surgeons, I finally found Dr.Ansari in West Hartford,ct. After he reviewed my complicated case he was able to perform the oral surgery. Not only did Dr.Ansari explain the whole procedure, but he made sure to review all options possible for a successful outcome. His staff were so well organized and so welcoming, it definitely help put my worries to ease. I would DEFINITELY recommend this for anyone looking to have dental work done.
