About Dr. Stephen P. Fetzik, DMD
Dr. Stephen P. Fetzik, DMD provides dental care on North Maize Road in Wichita, Kansas. At the core of a general dental practice is preventive and restorative care: checkups, professional cleanings, fillings, and screening for decay and gum disease before either becomes a bigger problem. It is the kind of appointment most people need on a routine schedule rather than only when something hurts.
Day-to-day oral health still comes down to the basics between visits — brushing twice daily with fluoride toothpaste, cleaning between the teeth, and limiting how often sugary food and drink appear through the day matters more than the total amount eaten at once. Regular professional care is what catches whatever those habits do not.
Digital X-rays are a routine part of dental care because they show what a visual exam alone cannot — decay forming between teeth, bone loss below the gumline, and how developing adult teeth are positioned in children. They use a low radiation dose and are taken on a schedule matched to individual risk rather than at every single visit.
Left untreated, small dental problems tend not to stay small. A minor cavity that would have been a straightforward filling can progress to needing root canal treatment and a crown, and early gum inflammation that would have reversed with a good cleaning can progress toward bone loss around the teeth. Catching things early is generally the difference in both effort and cost.
Continuity matters in dental care — seeing the same practice over time means your history, X-rays, and any patterns in your oral health are already on file, rather than starting from scratch at each visit. That familiarity is part of what a regular dental home offers beyond any single appointment.
Dental anxiety is common, and most practices are used to working with nervous patients — through clear explanations of what is about to happen, a slower pace where needed, and sedation options for patients who want them. Avoiding the dentist out of anxiety tends to make eventual treatment more involved, not less. This page has the practice's contact details and full service list. I don’t leave reviews unless something truly needs to be said. I would never want another new mother to leave this office feeling the way I did — judged, dismissed, and unsupported. We came in for a consultation about my son’s lip tie and I left that appointment feeling like a terrible mother. I was told my baby was “tight” and given a list of things that were supposedly wrong with him, rather than being supported or educated in a compassionate way. I chose to give grace and moved forward with scheduling the procedure. When we returned, the front office staff were rude and visibly annoyed when I simply asked for a trash can to throw away my child’s diaper. During the procedure my baby spit up — something babies do — and the response afterward felt unprofessional and disrespectful. A staff member came back in, changed her jacket in a way that showed clear disgust, and made comments about him throwing up and biting her. I later learned she is the office manager, yet she presented herself as if she were acting in a clinical role. New motherhood is already overwhelming. Parents should feel supported, not shamed. No one seeking help for their baby should walk away feeling like they failed. Do your research before choosing care here.
I've been really happy with the expert care I’ve experienced at Fetzik Dentistry. The entire team is friendly, professional, and makes you feel at ease from the moment you walk in. A special thank you to my hygienist, Carrie — she's thorough, gentle, and always takes the time to explain what she’s doing. I especially appreciate her and Dr. Fetzik’s holistic recommendations and how they take a whole-body approach to oral health. It’s clear they genuinely care about their patients' well-being.
Great experience with Kat assessing our daughter’s lip tie. We traveled from out of state based on good recommendations for this office. Kat is very kind, professional and thorough! The office is a very clean, welcoming and a comfortable setting as well, making our experience even better!
Great dentist and all the people that work there are as great
Absolutely love this dentist. I began coming here because I was told I had a tongue tie by my previous dentist (who I had a bad experience with and left). I was referred here by a friend due to their work on her infant’s tongue tie. I had that procedure back in August and Carrie did an amazing job with the body work and prep leading up to the release. Then she had great follow up after. I healed beautifully and have noticeable improvements in all kinds of ways (I mumble less, have no more sensitivity in my gums, I don’t have tension in my neck and shoulders like I did, etc). Truly incredible. I’d recommend it to anyone. I have now had 2 cleanings done here since then and they’ve been so kind and gentle with my previous trauma at my last dentist. So I really appreciate that. ALSO they offer holistic and full body solutions to your dental needs which align with my lifestyle of wanting to keep things Natural. Anyways, absolutely love Carrie and the staff here
I wish I could give 10 stars! They were great with both of my kids with tongue ties! I took my son to another place and after two revisions he was still having trouble nursing. I brought him here and the first try they got it all! Then when I was told my daughter had one too I took her right to them. The staff is very friendly and Katrina is great! Highly recommend to anyone that has kids that need their tongue ties revised. Don’t go just anywhere! Come here!
