Dr. Trevor Allen, DDS

I had a great experience with Dr. Trevor Allen, he was very knowledgeable and professional, and he gave me good guidance and helped put my mind at ease about a complicated dental health situation I am dealing with. I have not had surgery yet so I cannot speak to that but based on my experience so far, I would definitely recommend him and the AZ Max staff to anyone in need of an oral surgeon. Update on 7/10/26: I have since returned to Dr. Allen and still feel very confident with his care, knowledge and professionalism. I always leave feeling heard and never rushed and feel that I am getting the best care from him and his staff.

Dr Allen is a great doctor. I can tell he takes his job seriously and is very thorough in his preparation for surgery. I have felt very nervous for my upcoming surgery and he has helped me to feel comfortable. He is easy going and friendly and answered all my questions despite some being ridiculous.

I'm a 72 year old male who never had any wisdom teeth removed as a child or young adult. They never bothered me, so their removal was never considered. Dr Allen was referred to me by my regular dentist for the removal of an impacted lower left wisdom tooth that was discovered during a routine cleaning. During my initial surgery to remove the impacted wisdom tooth, anesthesia was required and paid for up front but was later reimbursed after my Delta Dental insurance was billed and the bill paid. Everything seemed well for approximately 6 weeks post-surgery, then a tooth-ache type pain and swelling developed in my lower left jaw while I was in Mexico on Vacation. Fortunately, I was able to get an immediate appointment with a friend's trusted dentist and after a full set of x-rays were taken, it was discovered that the surgery area was heavily infected, and it was also revealed that Dr Estrada the Mexico dentist (32 years experienced) felt that during my previous surgery at AZmax, Dr Allen had removed too much bone surrounding the impacted tooth and small bone fragments along with sharp edges were left in the jawbone surgery area that irritated the tissue causing it to become infected. I was given a memory chip containing all the x-rays taken and they were shown and explained to me by Dr Estrada, which showed the issues he discovered. Due to these issues I had to undergo a second surgery by Dr Estrada in Mexico where he cleaned out the previous surgery area along with removing the sharp edges left on the lower jawbone. After notifying an employee at AZMax about my issues I was told it was most probably due to my age. I'll ask my regular dentist about this during my next cleaning visit. When I mentioned that Dr Estrada also felt that too much of my jawbone was unnecessarily removed during the original surgery, I was told that she would certainly discuss that issue with Dr Allen. I have had no further follow-up since that phone call.

DR Allen explained very well what needed to be done, and the staff was very helpful during the process and scheduling of appointment.

Dr. Allen has been excellent throughout my dental implant journey. He performed a bone graft procedure for me, and the entire experience was smooth and comfortable. He took the time to explain everything clearly, answered all my questions, and made me feel confident in my treatment plan. His staff has also been friendly, professional, and helpful at every visit. I'm now preparing for my dental implants and have complete trust in Dr. Allen and his team. I highly recommend Dr. Allen to anyone needing oral surgery or dental implant procedures. My initial consultation with Dr. Trevor Allen was scheduled to discuss a dental procedure that would involve the extraction of a compromised tooth. He and his dental assistants, and office staff put me at ease immediately, and that continued throughout my appointment. Dr. Allen described the process involved for my tooth extraction in a very understandable, informative and kindly manner; which I much appreciated. When I left, with my surgery date scheduled, I felt fully informed as to what to expect for preparation and for the day of surgery. It is apparent that they strive to create a very caring environment for their patients. I would recommend Dr. Trevor Allen and AZ Max to my family and friends anytime.

Had a very pleasant experience from start to finish. AZ max came highly recommended. The front desk staff was very thorough in getting me a quote and making sure insurance was in-network. Since they have multiple locations, I was able to have the procedure done close to my house. The staff was very professional and made me comfortable before the procedure and in recovery. Dr. Allen answered all my questions during the consultation and made me feel like I was in good hands for the first surgery I'd ever had. You only get one shot at removing your wisdom teeth, but if I had to do it again, I'd recommend AZ Max.
