About DTLA Dental & Implant

DTLA Dental & Implant is at suite 213, 333 Alameda Street in the Little Tokyo neighbourhood of Downtown Los Angeles — a location in the city's historic Japanese-American district at the eastern edge of downtown between the Civic Center and the Arts District. Little Tokyo's commercial and residential revitalisation as part of the broader Downtown LA growth has made this corridor active with residents from the surrounding downtown residential towers and the creative community of the Arts District to the east.

Dr. Joon Ho Choe holds both a DDS and an MS — the post-doctoral master's designation indicating graduate-level clinical or research training beyond the standard dental school curriculum. In dentistry, the MS credential following a DDS typically reflects advanced study in implantology, oral sciences, or a specialty discipline, indicating clinical depth that general dental training alone does not provide. For comprehensive implant treatment planning and complex restorative cases, the academic training background behind the dual credential is clinically relevant to what the practitioner can assess and plan.

Dental implants are a central stated focus at this downtown LA address. The DTLA patient population spans younger professionals in the surrounding residential towers, Civic Center and Financial District workers, and longer-term downtown community members with varying dental histories. Implant cases in this context range from single-tooth replacement in younger patients to multi-tooth reconstruction in patients who have deferred replacement decisions across years while managing downtown rental costs.

Orthodontics and braces alongside Invisalign cover the full alignment correction range — complex fixed-appliance cases through adult aligner therapy. In a downtown LA practice, adult patients with work schedule constraints often prefer Invisalign's flexibility over fixed braces that require more frequent in-office adjustment appointments. Dentures alongside implants cover the full prosthetic range for patients who are not implant candidates or prefer conventional removable solutions.

Cosmetic dentistry including veneers and dental crowns complete the clinical scope. For DTLA, Little Tokyo, and Arts District patients who want an implant-focused practice with DDS, MS clinical leadership within walking distance of the downtown residential and Civic Center professional community, the Alameda Street suite 213 address provides that combination in the Little Tokyo neighbourhood.

DTLA Dental & Implant is a general and implant practice in the Little Tokyo neighborhood of Downtown Los Angeles, providing dental implants, cosmetic dentistry, dentures, crowns, and general care with a focus on accessibility for the growing downtown community.

From the moment I walked in, the staff made me feel welcome and comfortable. The dentist was professional, gentle, and very informative about my treatment options. The clinic is clean and well-equipped. Everything was handled smoothly and efficiently. I’m very happy with the results.

This is kind of shameful to admit but I hadn't gone to the dentist in 20 years. My family just never really stressed that much of an importance on dental care I guess. Thankfully I got to DTLA Dental on time because they told me that all 4 of my wisdom teeth had severe cavities in them and needed to be extracted. And I know what you're thinking, so many dental places recommend wisdom teeth extraction to make money but not here. They were recommending me other Oral Surgeons to go to because they just really wanted me to get it taken care of. Unfortunately I'm stupid and lazy and did not get it taken care of so the doctor took it into her own hands and after I visited for another cleaning, was like "ima just do these top two myself since you still haven't gone to the OS". It was gross. Took the poor doctor 20+ minutes to extract one tooth because my wisdom tooth was rotted and decayed so much that it kept chipping away and breaking into pieces. I saw the tooth that was pulled out afterwards and not even joking, it looked like a shark tooth with how pointy and jagged and broken apart it looked. ew. Anyways, tl;dr, everybody is incredibly nice. The doctor goes above and beyond for her patients. The dental assistants are also all so kind and shoutout to the person manning the front desk who took care of me from the moment I stepped in.

Like many others, I dread going to the dentist, but sometimes you can’t avoid it. I needed a dental implant and Dr.Cho did an amazing job. Her office has advanced technology that helps make the dental implant a lot smoother and faster. They take a painless image of your teeth (not that painful hard film that slices into your gums), send this off to a lab, and the lab creates all the necessary tools to help guide the implant process. Truly amazing. The cherry on top is her amazing staff - Grace and Karla have played a huge role in reassuring me and alleviating all my concerns, helping me schedule appointments with ease, ensuring I’m comfortable… I’m embarrassed to admit Grace recognizes my name/number now because of all my anxious calls/texts. Despite this, they all remain friendly and both are SO knowledgeable. Truly amazing staff. I had been going to this dental office for years because I lived walking distance, but I continue coming here even though I moved and now live an hour away. Parking is easy, they validate parking in the structure. Oh and bonus for taking Delta dental insurance because I’ve heard from multiple dentist friends that they’re awful. So grateful to have found a dentist office I like and trust!!

This is our favorite dentist and dental office! Dr. Cho is wonderful and every person who works here is super professional and pleasant. They do quality work, have all the modern equipment and technology, great communication and transparency, very affordable, and the office is super clean and pretty. No one tried to sell me a bunch of things I don't need, no pressure to buy Invisalign etc... and they were able to see almost our whole family the very next day! They have great parking with free validation at the Tokyo Galleria and even a Daiso right next door! This is our favorite dentist in all of California now. Thank you Dr. Cho and team!

Dr. Cho is the best doctor I've ever been to. She's been very patient with me. She explains every procedure she's going to perform and how she'll do it. She has assistants who speak both English and Spanish, which is another advantage in her office's bilingual assistance. My family has also been to her, and everything has gone well. My family is very happy with the results.
