About East Austin Dental
East Austin Dental is a general practice on East 5th Street in the East Austin neighborhood of 78702, focused on the everyday care most patients need across years of regular visits — preventive cleanings, exams, and the small restorative work that keeps small issues from becoming bigger ones. The practice runs standard weekday hours from 8 AM to 4 PM, Monday through Friday, which works for patients who can fit dental appointments into a typical workday rather than needing late-evening or Saturday slots.
For everyday care, the practice handles general dentistry — exams, cleanings, fillings, and the routine maintenance that builds the foundation for any longer-term dental plan. Implant dentistry is a notable service for the practice, with dental implants placed and restored in-house for patients who need a single tooth replaced or larger reconstructive work. Emergency dental care has its own scheduling slot, so a sudden cracked or painful tooth can usually get same-day attention rather than having to wait several days for a regular appointment.
If you want a small East Austin practice for routine general care plus the option of implant work without a referral elsewhere, this fits.
The practice is accessible from the central east-side corridor — Holly, Govalle, and the broader 78702 zip — and works for patients who prefer a small-practice setting over a multi-doctor chain. Cost-wise, the practice keeps the conversation about insurance and out-of-pocket costs straightforward, with implant treatment plans walked through before any major work begins so there are no surprises afterward. Searches that bring patients here include general dentist near East 5th Austin, dental implants in 78702, emergency dentist in East Austin, family dentist near Holly, and a small-practice general dentist on the east side. The practice suits patients who want continuity with a single team and a no-frills approach to general dentistry plus the bigger restorative option when needed.

I’ve been seeing Dr. Adrian Bernal at East Austin Dental for about eight years, and I can’t recommend him and his team enough. Most recently, I had an unexpected dental emergency involving a salivary gland infection. Dr. Bernal was able to get me in quickly, thoroughly evaluate the issue, and help relieve the pressure by draining the infected gland. What could have been a stressful experience was handled with professionalism, skill, and genuine care. Throughout the years, Dr. Bernal has always taken the time to explain things clearly, answer questions, and make me feel comfortable in the chair. His entire team is friendly, welcoming, and consistently provides excellent care. If you’re looking for a dentist who is knowledgeable, compassionate, and truly looks out for his patients, I highly recommend Dr. Bernal and the team at East Austin Dental!
I cannot recommend East Austin Dental highly enough, especially for patients with complex dental histories. I came to the practice as a challenging case, having previously undergone extensive craniofacial and jaw surgery along with two separate rounds of braces. After my surgery, I began seeing Dr. Potter. While my bite was technically adequate at the time, he had the expertise to suggest that seeing an orthodontist for further refinement was still worthwhile. My jaw surgeon agreed with his assessment, and I am incredibly glad I followed his advice. The minor improvements made to my bite and the overall aesthetics of my teeth have truly made a world of difference. The quality of care extends to the entire team, as the hygienists are always exceptionally kind and do a thorough, professional job with cleanings. Beyond the clinical excellence, the office is modern, clean, and conveniently located. They are incredibly efficient with email communication, and it is a relief to find a practice where you don’t have to wait on hold for hours on the phone. For anyone in a similar situation, I also highly recommend Dr. Tim Brunson for orthodontics. Between his work and the team at East Austin Dental, I couldn’t be happier with the results.
Dr Potter has been my dentist for a few years now and he and the staff at East Austin Dental are fantastic. I actually look forward to the 6 month cleanings. Dr Potter has replaced 3 old fillings with impressive skill. One was likely to require a crown but he was able to save the tooth. No pain, super fast and they feel and look great. Thanks Dr Potter and East Austin Dental. You all are the BEST!
Went in to get a cleaning and get fitted for trays (I have clenching issues) and I got held up at work and they were EXTREMELY kind and understanding and even saw me anyways when I got there a little late, way better attitude then I was expecting considering I was late and being an inconvenience. They were even nice enough to make sure I was comfortable while getting scanned for my dental trays. I know my insurance isnt very good, but for the quality of my cleaning and how kind everyone was the price was more than worth it. Front desk, assistants, hygienists and doctors are all 10/10
I have been going here for about 2 years now. I've always been so scared to go to the dentist until I found this place. The staff is all very friendly and so welcoming. I recommend it completely.
GO TO DR. BERNAL! He is so good at what he does. He is such a great trustworthy dentist. He did crowns on my two front teeth and let these pictures speak for how amazing of a job he did. The two crowns match perfectly with my other teeth and I am constantly getting complimented on my teeth. No one can even tell they are crowns. I forget sometimes too :) ! Dr. Bernal made sure they were the perfect match before finalizing his work and I APPRECIATE him so much for this. GO TO HIM. TRUST ME.
