General dentistry and dentures in the East Village
Smyleee Rating
Very Good
East Village Dental Center is a general dentistry practice at 55 Loisaida Avenue (Avenue C) in the East Village and Alphabet City neighborhood of Manhattan. The practice has served patients living in this part of the lower east side of Manhattan for many years, offering general and restorative dental care to the local community.
General dental services at the practice include routine examinations, dental cleanings, and X-rays. The front desk team is noted for being helpful and for going out of their way to assist patients with medication coordination and scheduling logistics when issues arise. Spanish language assistance is available at the front desk, which is relevant for the neighborhood’s bilingual patient population.
Restorative services include denture fabrication and fitting for patients requiring full or partial dentures. Patients who need dentures should expect a multi-step process involving impressions, fitting visits, and an adjustment period after receiving the final appliance. Patients receiving dentures should be aware that new dentures typically require several weeks to adjust to, and that follow-up visits for adjustments and relines may be necessary to achieve a comfortable and functional fit. Asking in advance about the specific adjustment process and how the practice handles fit issues after delivery is advisable.
The practice operates in a neighborhood setting where the volume of patients can create a busy waiting area environment. Patients who prefer a quieter clinical setting may find it useful to ask about the least busy appointment times when booking. The clinical dentists at the practice vary; confirming which dentist will be seeing you, and whether they are in-network with your insurance plan if you are using a specialist, is worth doing at the time of scheduling.
Loisaida Avenue runs through Alphabet City, the eastern strip of the East Village between Avenues A and D. The L train at First Avenue and the F train at Second Avenue are the nearest subway stations. The M14 and M15 bus lines also serve this corridor. Patients from the East Village, the Lower East Side, and nearby Chinatown can reach the practice without significant travel time.

Best dental care in the city! Front desk staff was super friendly and scheduled me quickly. No pain during the cleaning. Suzanne was great!
Front desk is amazing and the doctor was great! The front desk was above and beyond helpfull with me! Spanish lady was like for 1 hour in the phone making sure I get my medication!! Great service
Confusion. Chaos. People whistling and yelling in the waiting room. The desk staff couldn't hear, let alone concentrate. They are as professional as they can be, under the circumstances. The dentist I saw was atrocious, wanted to do the dumbest, cheapest procedures. Well, it's my mouth, not hers, right? This was standard: not all their dentists take the same insurance. So if you want to see a specialist there, you need to make sure you're covered. But I'm not going back. Judge for yourself.
It's a great dentist and I have been living in this area for about 36 years and that always have been a place where I would go and get my teeth done or dentures also the nurses and the doctor the dentist does a great job I would recommend anyone to this dentist
I went there to have numerious extraction, upper teeth and to get dentures, first of all the front desk staff was great went there on 4 different occasions, the extraction were painless, that problem occurred when I received the upper denture which was to big and fitted poorly, no suction, keep slipping out my mouth felt like i had a hockey puck in my mouth. The attendant dentist informed me from day one that I have to adjust to the new dentures, it been almost 7 week, so im actually stuck with dentures that fit poorly.
