I’ve been seeing Dr. Youngblood for years and actually followed him from his previous practice because I trust him that much. He’s always kind, thorough, and makes every visit feel comfortable. My dental hygienist, Mariana, was great too. She was friendly, efficient, and took the time to explain everything she was doing and answer my questions, which I really appreciated. Everyone at the office was welcoming, and the whole appointment went smoothly. I’m really happy with the care I received and would definitely recommend this office!

My family and I were patients at this office for a short time after moving to the area. Initially, we had a very positive experience thanks to a warm and friendly middle aged female receptionist who made us feel welcome. Unfortunately, after she left, the atmosphere changed noticeably. During later visits, I repeatedly overheard staff members speaking negatively about patients within earshot of others in the office. That made me uncomfortable and didn’t feel professional or respectful. As for the dental care itself, Dr. Ostovar was polite and personable. However, I had serious concerns about the treatment recommendations. At my first visit, I was told I had multiple cavities. After reviewing the written estimate they provided, it listed a total of 12 cavities with a cost of well over $2,000, in addition, I was strongly advised to undergo a deep cleaning (scaling and root planing) that would cost about another $1,000 This came as a surprise, since I had been seen by another dentist just six months prior and had no cavities and no gum issues. I proceeded with a few fillings but decided to get a second opinion before continuing further treatment. At a different dental office, they performed a full-mouth X-ray series (18 images) to thoroughly evaluate my teeth. Based on that exam, I was told that I had no cavities and did not need a deep cleaning—only a routine cleaning. Because of this significant difference in diagnosis, I would encourage others to consider getting a second opinion before agreeing to extensive or costly dental work here. Overall, while some staff members were kind, my experience raised concerns about professionalism and the consistency of treatment recommendations.

Everyone I've met here has been welcoming, friendly and professional. Marina the hygienist is one of the kindest people I have met in a long time. I usually have anxiety during dental procedures but she put me right at ease. I actually enjoyed myself today! I highly recommend East Wind Dental Care.

I've been to many dentists and dental hygienists in the greater Portland area. This location has the best dentist and dental hygienist I've found. I've been going to them for years now and it's a positive experience every time. I've needed a few crown replacements and the team approaches it like a work of art. You wouldn't even know it's a crown. It just looks like a natural tooth. I'm impressed every time. Their hygienist also goes the extra mile every time. They know what my main issues are with my teeth and give me personalized advice and support to help keep me healthy and happy. The best part of both is that I also experience next to no pain. They take extremely good care of me. I appreciate their reliable and excellent care.

Doctor is really nice and cares about you. He’s really good while working on your teeth. I have never felt any pain during any cleanings/root canal. His jokes are really funny too. Never felt any pain during appointments and the staff are really friendly for any accommodations. I have been a patient for more than 5 years and has always be treated excellent. 100% recommend it

You can tell the staff truly takes pride in creating a comfortable and thoughtful patient experience. I started coming here during the postpartum period, which can bring a lot of unexpected changes — including changes in oral health — and the team has been thorough, attentive, and supportive throughout multiple visits. The hygienists and dentists take their time, explain things clearly, and make sure you feel cared for every step of the way. The office itself is clean, calm, and very well run. I’m grateful to have found a practice that combines strong clinical care with kindness and professionalism. Highly recommend!
