About Elite Dental & Wellness (Formerly Elite Smiles)

Based on South Power Road in Mesa, Arizona, Elite Dental & Wellness (Formerly Elite Smiles) is a dental practice serving the area. Holistic, or biological, dentistry applies standard dental diagnosis and treatment within an approach that emphasises material choice and conservative treatment, considering oral health as connected to the body more broadly rather than treating the mouth in isolation.

A first appointment at a new practice typically covers a full examination, a review of your dental and medical history, and a professional cleaning, with X-rays if you do not have recent ones. It is also a reasonable time to raise any longer-term concerns, cosmetic or otherwise, so they can be factored into a plan going forward.

Day-to-day oral health still comes down to the basics between visits — brushing twice daily with fluoride toothpaste, cleaning between the teeth, and limiting how often sugary food and drink appear through the day matters more than the total amount eaten at once. Regular professional care is what catches whatever those habits do not.

Digital X-rays are a routine part of dental care because they show what a visual exam alone cannot — decay forming between teeth, bone loss below the gumline, and how developing adult teeth are positioned in children. They use a low radiation dose and are taken on a schedule matched to individual risk rather than at every single visit.

Left untreated, small dental problems tend not to stay small. A minor cavity that would have been a straightforward filling can progress to needing root canal treatment and a crown, and early gum inflammation that would have reversed with a good cleaning can progress toward bone loss around the teeth. Catching things early is generally the difference in both effort and cost.

Continuity matters in dental care — seeing the same practice over time means your history, X-rays, and any patterns in your oral health are already on file, rather than starting from scratch at each visit. That familiarity is part of what a regular dental home offers beyond any single appointment. This page has the practice's contact details and full service list. Are holistic dentists still trained in regular dentistry?
Yes. A holistic practice is a licensed dental practice that has chosen a particular philosophy around materials and conservative treatment — it is not a separate qualification, and standard diagnosis and treatment still apply.
Is biological or holistic dentistry more expensive?
It can be, since ceramic and composite materials and more conservative techniques sometimes cost more than the cheapest alternative. Pricing varies by practice, so it is worth asking directly rather than assuming.
How often should I have a dental check-up?
Every six months suits most people. If you have gum disease or a history of decay a dentist may suggest coming more often. The point of regular visits is mostly to catch problems while they are still small and cheap to treat.

Dr. Schreeve and the hygienist are fantastic. I do not appreciate the abruptness and communication with the person at the front desk, however, Katie called and resolved my issue. She was kind, understanding, and honestly I am relieved because I really love this office and the dental staff.

I don't know where to begin. I have been to so many dentists over my life and none have been so forthcoming about what to do to impact my health. I came to Elite a complete mouth mess and have now had multiple procedures done and finally feel like there is a light at the end of the tunnel. Dr. Desanti is so knowledgeable, comforting, and professional its hard not to feel comfortable and safe. The support staff (clinical and office) are always so friendly, kind, and knowledgeable. Both my wife and I feel like part of their family now and I no longer dread the final work that needs to be done. No upsells or unnecessary recommendations. If you want real oral health, this is the best place to go! We have learned so much about the root causes and underlying issues and a biologic dentist is the only way for us.

I used too love this office. They recently moved locations and the seats in the lobby are so small. Too small for me and I had stand. It was pretty humiliating to try and sit in a chair that was too small in a lobby full of people. I did speak to an office manager but they didn’t seem to care. We loved the hygienists and Drs. It’s too bad they moved offices and changed their front chairs.

Always pleasant staff, helpful and kind Dentists(I've seen 2 so far), fairly easy to get an appointment and my appointments have resulted in good outcomes, and they've fulfilled or exceeded my expectations.

A dentist you can trust! Finding a good, trustworthy dentist that is also natural minded is really hard nowadays, the happier I am to have found Dr. Shreeve and his team, they are so wonderful and truly care about their patients. My whole family goes here.

Best dentist and staff I’ve ever been too. Their approach to health and wellness beyond just the oral aspect is what sets them apart. Im new to this office and had a cleaning and exam, and it was so much more thorough and helpful than the usual exams, especially the breathing and passageway exam. The results explained why I have had persistent sleep and oral issues as a mouth breather. Just impressed by their approach and care. Well done👏

After taking my two kids to their routine checkup at a typical pediatric dentist office and being told both needed extensive filling of cavities (including a baby root canal and metal crowns) and recommended general anesthesia for my youngest and nitrous oxide for my oldest, I felt incredibly anxious and distraught. This is the most dental work I've ever had to consider for anyone, including myself. I did extensive research into typical dentistry practices and found lots of scary information about the use of general anesthesia and nitrous oxide in children, the negative implications of metal crowns, among many other things. Unfortunately, these are very typical treatments for children with the type of work needed done. I wasn't sure I'd be able to find a good dentist who not only had a holistic approach but who could also work well with children AND could do the work without general anesthesia or gas. But thankfully, some friends of mine recommended Elite Smiles and Dr. Shreeve to me, and I'm so glad they did. Dr. Shreeve did a thorough examination of their teeth, and even though he had pretty much the same conclusions in terms of the amount of decay in my children's teeth as the other dentist, his approach was much more conservative and holistic. He filled my children's teeth without the use of any metal crowns, only resin fillings. And when he got to the really troublesome tooth on my oldest child, he decided it didn't need a baby root canal after all, and instead treated it with ozone and filled it. I was very impressed with Dr. Shreeves' ability to work with young children, communicate with them compassionately, and fill their teeth without the use of GA or laughing gas. He does his best to hide the sharp tools from the children's view, make them feel comfortable, and he seems to have mastered the ability to administer local anesthetic with very little to no pain involved. My 4 year old got 2 fillings and said it wasn't painful AT ALL. Prior to their treatments, he also communicated with me by text to address my questions and concerns, and he offered to give me a call if needed to discuss further. I think Dr. Shreeve is a very skilled and caring dentist, and other dentists would do well to learn from him how to use the least invasive and most holistic methods possible, especially for the little ones in their care. If you have children who need a lot of dental work done, and the idea of giving young children general anesthesia gives you anxiety, Dr. Shreeve may be the dentist for you.

Very grateful to have found Elite Smiles! My wife found them through Google Maps so it's only appropriate for us to pay it forward! My family just began seeing Dr. Porter and staff. We really appreciate the holistic approach and feel like we're in good hands. Staff from the front office to the hygienists, to the dentist have been pleasant and professional. This is a well run holistic focused dentist office.
