About Endodontic Associates

Based on Memorial Circle in the Northwest Oklahoma City area of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Endodontic Associates is a dental practice serving the area. Root canal treatment removes infected or inflamed tissue from inside a tooth, cleans and seals the space, and allows the natural tooth to be kept rather than extracted. Its reputation for being painful is largely outdated — carried out under local anaesthetic, it typically relieves pain rather than causing it.

Endodontic treatment concerns the nerve and pulp inside the tooth, most commonly through root canal treatment and retreatment of a previously treated tooth. Endodontists take on the more complex cases, including teeth with unusual root anatomy or a root canal that did not fully resolve.

Digital X-rays are a routine part of dental care because they show what a visual exam alone cannot — decay forming between teeth, bone loss below the gumline, and how developing adult teeth are positioned in children. They use a low radiation dose and are taken on a schedule matched to individual risk rather than at every single visit.

Left untreated, small dental problems tend not to stay small. A minor cavity that would have been a straightforward filling can progress to needing root canal treatment and a crown, and early gum inflammation that would have reversed with a good cleaning can progress toward bone loss around the teeth. Catching things early is generally the difference in both effort and cost.

Continuity matters in dental care — seeing the same practice over time means your history, X-rays, and any patterns in your oral health are already on file, rather than starting from scratch at each visit. That familiarity is part of what a regular dental home offers beyond any single appointment.

Dental anxiety is common, and most practices are used to working with nervous patients — through clear explanations of what is about to happen, a slower pace where needed, and sedation options for patients who want them. Avoiding the dentist out of anxiety tends to make eventual treatment more involved, not less. This page has the practice's contact details and full service list. Frequently Asked Questions

Where is Endodontic Associates located in Oklahoma City?
Endodontic Associates is on Memorial Circle in the Northwest Oklahoma City area of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma (73142).
What services does Endodontic Associates offer?
Listed services at Endodontic Associates include Root Canal Treatment and Endodontics. The full list is shown on this page.
When would I be referred to an endodontist instead of treated by my regular dentist?
Many general dentists perform straightforward root canals themselves. A referral is more likely for a tooth with complex root anatomy, a previous root canal that has failed, or persistent pain that is difficult to diagnose.
Is a root canal from an endodontist different from one done by a general dentist?
The procedure is the same in principle. An endodontist has additional specialist training and typically uses more advanced imaging, which is why they often take on the more difficult cases.
How many appointments does root canal treatment take?
It can sometimes be completed in one visit, though more complex teeth with several canals may need two. Which applies depends on the tooth involved and whether there is active infection to settle first.
Is a root canal as painful as people say?
The reputation is largely outdated. The procedure is carried out under local anaesthetic and is usually no more uncomfortable than having a filling. The severe pain people associate with root canals is generally the infection beforehand, which the treatment relieves.

Great experience from start to finish. This was my first root canal, and I was pretty nervous, but Dr. Schultz explained everything clearly and helped me feel at ease the whole time. Dakota, the tech, was professional, efficient, and very understanding—handling the exam, scans, explanation, and the entire procedure in about an hour. Completely painless and incredibly smooth. Highly recommend!

Dentist and nurses were excellent. The lady that checked me out was very nice. The front desk is extremely rude and not helpful at all.

I had to have 2 root canals in the same appointment and Dr. Duke and her assistant were fantastic. The only pain was from the numbing shots to the gums and that was no big deal to me. Two thumbs up!

I had my first root canal with Dr. Hilton and it was painless! I was so scared leading up to my appointment I even cried in the waiting room (bad anxiety). The assistants made sure I was completely relaxed with laughing gas and made sure I was completely numb. I had a blanket, my boyfriend was able to be in the room with me and they talked through everything they were doing. After my procedure I didn’t have any pain besides a little soreness. I would recommend anyone getting a root canal or any procedure done with this office.

I had a very good experience from start to finish. Dr. Hilton was very knowledgeable and really breaks down his analysis in a comprehensive way. I felt very confident in his diagnosis and the root canal was fast and pain free. The staff were all very professional and kind.
