Escott Orthodontics

DON"T be fooled by the reviews, they were bought from Martin Orthodontics. I spent $6000 and 2 years being treated by Christopher Escott. I am now in daily pain and have to spend an additional 2 years with another orthodontist fixing the issues caused by Escott Orthodontics. I am also having to file a formal complaint with the Board of Dentistry and a HIPPA correction. Escott and his staff, especially Kathy Hatfield, have done everything they can to shield the practice from the responsibility of the results from Escott's treatment. They’ve proven they’re comfortable prioritizing deniability over patient health. BIASED ADVICE AND OPINIONS: Keep searching for an orthodontist now so you’re not searching for a lawyer later. There are plenty of accomplished orthodontist out there. This one is ethically hollow. Escott’s entire business is buying or merging with successful orthodontic practices of accomplished orthodontists who are retiring / selling their practice. Then Escott passes off their prior success as his own. If you do choose Escott be careful. If something seems wrong it probably is and in my experience he is not your friend in that scenario. On a completely unrelated note.. if somebody uses their parents’ money and connections to buy up orthodontic practices during opportunistic moments, that doesn’t make them a good orthodontist. Hypothetical example: If a young orthodontist was given an established practice with over 300 positive Google reviews in the wake of COVID from an accomplished, recently divorced, and retiring orthodontist. Being gifted a business doesn’t endow you with the required skills to run that business. STORY MODE: I signed on with Dr Martin and was never informed of his retirement and my treatment being transferred to Escott until I asked why Martin never does my appointments. First red flag. But my teeth were just a little crooked and minor overbite so I figured anyone could fix it. Halfway through the treatment with Escott I started experiencing jaw popping when I would chew and pain and swelling behind my ears and down my neck. I reported the symptoms and what I perceived to be the cause of this pain to Escott who started by denying that they even moved my teeth in the way I was describing. Once I proved my teeth were moved exactly how I was describing using Invisalign’s ClinCheck program, Escott started denying that orthodontics could possibly be the cause of all of my new symptoms. He referred me to a TMJ specialist. The TMJ specialists said “This is a muscular issue caused by orthodontics, you need to see an orthodontist to get this fixed.”. Given this information, Escott continued to deny any wrong doing. In the same breath Escott said “I’m not a jaw expert, but orthodontics wouldn’t cause these symptoms”…. I told him and his office that I need a second opinion, and that I will need my HIPPA records sent asap. They took the entire federally allotted 30 days to give me my HIPPA records which were laughably constructed to create a false narrative that I voluntarily elected to end my treatment. They claimed that I verbally expressed wanting to end treatment and that I signed a document stating my intention to transfer. They tried to use these false claims to unilaterally end my treatment in an email. The email informed me that my 30 day emergency care window is now over, they are no longer obligated to help me, and I am no longer a patient. When I pushed back against their provable lies, Escott and his office were forced to recant their claims. They obviously could not produce any signed document. However I could produce an email they sent to me the day after the conversation in question that read "During our phone conversation yesterday evening, you mentioned that you would like to continue treatment while you explore care with a TMD specialist.” This is just a fraction of the 2 year hell I experienced with Escott Orthodontics. I could go on with a dozen more examples like this and worse about my experience with Christopher Escott. Don't be fooled. GOOD LUCK!

I was going to Dr Maritin ( he is gone and there is a new doctor at the practice) and loved him but then I has loss in my family, a divorce and was forced to move. I had paid them in full already but when I asked for any money back for services not rendered they refused! I paid them thousands of dollars and they only provided maybe half my care. I gave 2 stars 🌟 because of the care I was given under dr Martin. NOT OK!

Gabriella was amazing! She took her time to explain each step, she was so gentle and kind to my daughter who was super nervous. Dr. Davis was great and thorough. Teeth look great! Very happy with everything.

The orthodontist & staff are very knowledgeable & caring. You will be very happy you chose them for your orthodontic care. This team is the best!

My son and I started our orthodontic treatment together a little over 2 years ago, and today we finished together too! both our braces came off! Yay! 🎉 I wanted to give a huge shoutout to the entire team at Escott Orthodontics (formerly Martin Orthodontics). Everyone there has always been amazing, friendly, professional, and caring throughout the entire process. My whole family has gone there over the years, and they never disappoint. They also offer great financing options, which made the process so much easier for our family. A special thank you to Doctor, Hanna, Alitza, Elisa, and Leo for being so attentive today and making us feel extra special while celebrating the completion of our treatment! If you are looking for a great orthodontist, this is absolutely the place to go. Highly recommend!

Megan is amazing! Braces off today and she made the process super pleasant. Very professional. Answered all of our questions and made sure we were comfortable with the retainer and information. Elisa made the retainer in office while we waited. Amazing. 🤩

Had my braces removed today at Escott Orthodontics and I’m so happy with my experience! Dr. Davis has been amazing throughout my treatment — knowledgeable, patient, and always made me feel confident in the process. Megan removed my braces and was so gentle and efficient, and Elisa made my retainer beautifully — it fits perfectly. Such a great team all around. Highly recommend!

I just started my treatment and everything has been fantastic so far. My consultation was handled by Emely, she was very kind and went into great detail over my treatment and the options that were available to me. Dr. Davis also took his time to inform me, what options would be the best for my case and asked multiple times if I had any questions. Once I decided that I wanted to proceed, they started the process of putting on my braces in the same day, which I did not expect. My teeth were cleaned and the brackets were placed by Leo, he had a bright personality that put me at ease and did everything without me feeling any discomfort whatsoever. I highly reccomend this practice.
