About Families First Health & Support Ctr

Families First Health & Support Ctr is a dental practice on Greenleaf Woods Drive in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. General dentistry covers the routine and restorative care most people need most often — examinations, cleanings, fillings, and preventive checks that catch problems while they are still small and inexpensive to treat. Regular attendance, roughly every six months for most patients, is what makes that early-catch approach actually work.

Digital X-rays are a routine part of dental care because they show what a visual exam alone cannot — decay forming between teeth, bone loss below the gumline, and how developing adult teeth are positioned in children. They use a low radiation dose and are taken on a schedule matched to individual risk rather than at every single visit.

Left untreated, small dental problems tend not to stay small. A minor cavity that would have been a straightforward filling can progress to needing root canal treatment and a crown, and early gum inflammation that would have reversed with a good cleaning can progress toward bone loss around the teeth. Catching things early is generally the difference in both effort and cost.

Continuity matters in dental care — seeing the same practice over time means your history, X-rays, and any patterns in your oral health are already on file, rather than starting from scratch at each visit. That familiarity is part of what a regular dental home offers beyond any single appointment.

Dental anxiety is common, and most practices are used to working with nervous patients — through clear explanations of what is about to happen, a slower pace where needed, and sedation options for patients who want them. Avoiding the dentist out of anxiety tends to make eventual treatment more involved, not less.

Children benefit from starting dental visits early, generally by their first birthday or within six months of the first tooth coming through, mainly so they become familiar with the setting before any treatment is actually needed. Establishing that routine early tends to make ongoing checkups far less stressful for both child and parent. This page has the practice's contact details and full service list. This location caters only to people who support the LGBTQ agenda. They have a "gay pride" flag, an American flag but no Christian flag. May God impose judgement on this location.

first off calling trying to use the automated service was completely useless. Once I got through apparently as a husband, I’m not authorized to make an appointment for my wife. it’s like no I only have her full personal information just cause I wanna make her a random appointment.

Was there for hubby's first appointment and got ready to leave. Doctor told him to make another appointment with the intake to apply for medicaid. When we got ready to leave, we went out to make the appointment, and the gate was closed, and all the receptionist were outside, gabbing away, you would think that they would wait until all patients were out of the building pretty unprofessional. As far as my husband's concerned, he don't know if he's ever go back there again. The appointment itself was a joke. They won't help people like they say they will. They just give you the runaround. When we left, he was so disappointed that he's just gonna do everything himself. And try to find a different doctor that place won't help you at all like they say they will. He's also expecting a crazy high bill that's messed up. They say that they're gonna help you with medications. His 4 medications was gonna be over three hundred dollars. 2 of them were cheaper at Walmart!!

Dr. Alvarado And Sam did an amazing job. They were very thorough and explained everything in detail to me. I travel a little farther just to be seen by Dr. Alvarado because she is just that good! She genuinely cares for her patients and she has a heart of gold!

Excellent care. A couple things that stand out: Richard does my cleanings and always takes the time to coach me on better brushing techniques, dental hygiene etc. My home routines (and my kid's) have gotten much better as a result. Also, Dr. Villett and her team put in a crown for me after I cracked a tooth. There were some issues with the lab that required multiple visits to get it fitted right, and they were super patient and went the extra mile to make sure the end result was perfect. Highly recommend.

This office is trash, I would give zero as a rating if I could. They say they send referrals and then a month later when I call to follow up because of course no referrals got sent the lady is incredibly rude and hangs up and now I have to waste more time by going in because clearly they can’t do their job right.

PA Allison Hansen is the best provider I’ve seen in a long time. She is compassionate and truly lets me take my care into my own hands by allowing me to move at my own pace. She’s understanding and really listens to her patients. I highly recommend her and am so grateful to have found such a wonderful provider.

Just called October 17th. Broke my neck 6 years ago and having pain in left shoulder neck and face with temporary facial paralysis they said they couldn’t get me in until December? Very serious symptoms and no appt until December. I have been a patient with them for over 10 years but now I’m done. Front desk staff was terrible.

No stars if I could. Let me begin by saying lack of communication or absence of communication is my first complaint. I have personally talked to the healthcare team left after hour messages and no one returns my calls. I was looking to have my prescriptions refilled only to find out I wasn't a patient any longer without any notification sent to me. I told them I was out of my blood pressure medicine and if they could please call in a week's worth that would give me time to sort this all out. But they did not work with me. I am now a week off my blood pressure medicine looking for a new provider. I would not trust my care with them at this juncture. My father died of congestive heart failure last year and my mom had a stroke the year before so my heart health is important to me. Communication and compassion is a must in the healthcare field and this is seriously lacking here. At the time of this writing I called again waiting for another reply which I have not received. Shocker! I strongly recommend people look elsewhere for healthcare in my opinion.
