About Family Dental Care of Indiana

Based on Westwood Boulevard in Columbus, Indiana, Family Dental Care of Indiana is a dental practice serving the area. A dental implant replaces a missing tooth at the root, not just the crown — a small titanium post is placed in the jaw bone and, once it has integrated over a period of months, a replacement tooth is attached to it. It is generally the most durable option for a single missing tooth or several.

Cosmetic treatment is generally the least invasive branch of dentistry, built around changing how teeth look rather than fixing something broken. Whitening and bonding sit at the lighter end; veneers and reshaping involve more planning. Most cosmetic dental insurance excludes this kind of work, since it is elective rather than medically necessary.

Root canal treatment removes infected or inflamed tissue from inside a tooth, cleans and seals the space, and allows the natural tooth to be kept rather than extracted. Its reputation for being painful is largely outdated — carried out under local anaesthetic, it typically relieves pain rather than causing it.

A crown covers an entire damaged tooth — used when too much structure is missing for a filling to hold reliably, whether from a large fracture, extensive decay, or after root canal treatment. It restores both the shape and the biting strength of the tooth underneath.

A bridge replaces one or more missing teeth by anchoring a false tooth to crowns placed on the teeth either side of the gap, creating a fixed replacement rather than a removable one. It is a longstanding alternative to an implant, particularly when the neighbouring teeth already need crowns.

Pediatric dental care is built around treating children specifically — dentists with additional training in child development and behaviour management, and offices designed to make a first visit unintimidating. Guidance generally points to a child's first dental visit around age one or within six months of the first tooth. Dr. Carter and her staff are absolutely the best. Never in my life had the actual dentist perform my teeth cleanings and exams. How cool is that??She breaks it all down, explains things clearly, and doesn’t sell you a darn thing you do not need. The facility is modern and absolutely spotless and just feels welcoming. Diana at the front always makes sure you won’t miss your appointment and is so friendly. They always ask how I’m doing, how my family is, and doesn’t just try to empty my bank account by endlessly offering Invisalign, monthly teeth whitenings, or subscriptions to Dental Monthly Magazine! Thank you guys for being a great business in Columbus and taking care of your patients.

Dr. Carter and her entire staff are amazing at what they do. Dr. Beth Carter has surrounded herself with helpful and caring individuals that work hard to understand each patient's need. Shannon, the hygienist, is kind and always remembers what flavor of fluoride and polishing paste we prefer. Diana is a kind receptionist who helps us remember our appointments. All are great with kids and even nervous ones at that. Thank you Dr. Beth and staff!

I absolutely love this dentist! She is amazing. She makes you feel comfortable. She loves keeping you educated...she knows her stuff! Her hygienists are extremely sweet. They all do an amazing job. The office staff are always great about keeping up with appointment reminders and checking in on me. They are extremely organized too. I was scared to go to the dentist but after coming here...that fear disappeared. They treat you like family and genuinly care about you. I highly recommend them.
