About Family Dental

Family Dental sits on Two Notch Road in Columbia as a general practice built to cover most of what comes up in a mouth, not just one narrow specialty. The office treats routine cleanings alongside more involved work like crowns, bridges, and root canals, plus the kind of same-day problem -- a cracked tooth, sudden swelling -- that can't wait for next month's opening. That combination means a simple filling that turns out to need more doesn't send you elsewhere, and an emergency doesn't mean searching for a dentist who's never seen your chart.

The service list splits between upkeep and repair. Cleanings and gum disease treatment catch problems early; fillings and tooth decay treatment step in once a cavity has formed. When a filling won't hold, a crown covers the tooth entirely, and a bridge fills a gap by anchoring a false tooth to the teeth beside it. Root canals remove infected tissue from inside a tooth to save it rather than pull it, and extractions cover the cases where saving it isn't realistic. Teeth whitening handles the cosmetic end, and because a child's first filling and a parent's root canal happen under the same roof, most of what a family needs doesn't require a second office.

If you've been putting off a cavity because you're dreading a specialist referral, this is a practice built to handle the filling, the crown it might need, and everything in between without passing you along.

Cost for any of this depends on what's actually happening in your mouth -- a cleaning and a root canal aren't going to land on the same bill, and a crown's price shifts with the tooth and material involved. That's worth asking about directly rather than guessing from a price list, since these services span a lot of ground, from a routine check to a same-day visit for a cracked tooth. Family Dental suits someone who wants one office to call regardless of what's wrong -- a stain they want lightened, gums that have started bothering them, or a tooth that's been hurting since last week.

Family Dental on Two Notch Road in Columbia, South Carolina offers general dentistry -- cleanings, fillings, crowns, bridges, root canals, extractions, and teeth whitening -- plus same-day emergency visits, suited to patients who want routine and urgent care under one roof.

I am extremely disappointed with the care I received from Dr. Rooster. I was seen for an evaluation regarding teeth that needed to be extracted. At the time of my appointment, I was experiencing pain and was advised that there did not appear to be any infection. Unfortunately, I was unable to get an extraction appointment quickly and had to travel out of state due to a death in my family. While away, my condition worsened significantly. I developed severe, excruciating pain along with swelling in my face and around my ear. Concerned that an infection had developed, I contacted Dr. Rooster’s office, explained my circumstances, and requested an antibiotic prescription. Despite having recently been evaluated and despite the worsening symptoms I described, I was told that no prescription could be provided because I had not been seen within the previous 48 hours. What is most frustrating is that I initially sought treatment because I was already experiencing pain. Given how rapidly my condition progressed, it leaves me questioning whether the issue was fully addressed during my original visit. Being out of state, dealing with a family loss, and then being left to manage severe pain and swelling without assistance was an incredibly stressful experience. I understand that providers must follow policies, but I expected more compassion, support, and guidance under these circumstances. Unfortunately, my experience left me feeling unheard and unsupported when I needed help the most.

I am a new patient to this office. I walked in, the front staff was so helpful and friendly! (I couldn't remember the 3 young ladies name) but shout out to them. The back staff took great care of me. Shout out to the X-ray tech, Dr. Rossita and her Assistant for treating me with such care.

Made an appointment for 1130 got there early was not seen at all waited over an hour just to be told that I wouldn’t be able to be seen because the dentist had a procedure that went over the expected time after being told multiple times that I would be called back shortly. The older lady at the desk was rude and was not helpful in the slightest one of the younger women at the desk was very helpful and very apologetic and sincere, most likely will not be coming back to this establishment as not only my time was wasted, but my gas others were being taken back Who Had come in after me. On top of that, they almost lost my license. Would not recommend this establishment to anyone very unprofessional if you only have two dentist and know that a patient is going to take longer than expected. They should definitely let others know as this is a waste of my time completely unacceptable if I could give zero stars, I would.

The waiting room is nice and comfortable with TV on the other side I could hear it but, I couldn't see it from where I was sitting the front desk people was very kind EXCEPT for one girl on the right side. She was out of line asking me was I finished with the paper work. And call my name causing people to look right at ME I wasn't expecting to be ask that question it's like she was rushing me to filed out the paperwork .knowing me I should have put her in place but I held my cool but in all the Dentists and the Nurse were GREAT and I'll be BACK. Thanks
