My son had gotten my wisdom teeth taken out here and the process was smooth and quick. Overall, no complaints on our behalf regarding the wisdom teeth extraction. However, on the other hand there came difficulty with contact with the staff. It was beyond difficult to get a hold of the staff as they never seem to pick up the phone. My son had complications with the antibiotics he was prescribed and we had to wait for an email response that could've been addressed in a quicker manner over the phone.
fast, efficient service. their phone line is always busy though…
I had a very disappointing experience with this office regarding my wisdom teeth removal insurance request. I visited the office a few weeks ago and was told they would submit the request to my insurance and that I should wait about three weeks. During that time, I followed up multiple times and was repeatedly told that the request had already been submitted, even though the office could not provide a clear proof that anything had actually been sent. I later called my insurance company directly, and they told me they had never received any request from this office. After I informed the office of this, they said they would resend it before closing. I checked with my insurance again the next day, and insurance still had no record of receiving anything. This caused unnecessary delay in my treatment and wasted several weeks of my time. The most concerning part was the lack of clear communication and the inability to provide proof of submission while repeatedly telling me it had been submitted. For patients in New York who experience similar issues with a dentist or dental office, complaints about professional misconduct can be filed with the New York State Education Department Office of Professional Discipline, also known as NYSED OPD (download complaint form through their website). NYC 311 can also direct patients to the appropriate complaint process. Update: Based on my conversation with your office this morning, they now stated that the insurance request was submitted on 05/26 and said they would send me a screenshot showing that it was sent. However, this is still confusing because when I previously followed up about a week ago, one assistant told me she could not see any record of the submission, while I was still told that the request had been sent, your office stated that the assistant who told me she could not see any record of the submission was newly hired. I understand that new staff may still be learning office procedures. However, that does not resolve my concern. Until now, my insurance company has told me they have no record of receiving the request. I am willing to resolve this professionally, but the issue remains the same: conflicting information, lack of clear documentation, and delay in treatment. BTW, I really appreciate your super fast reply on my google review, I hope the actual insurance issue can be handled just as quickly and clearly. UPDATE: Thank you for your super fast Google review response. I understand that insurance authorization can involve third-party systems and processing timelines. However, my concern is that I was repeatedly told the request had been submitted, while my insurance told me they had no record of receiving it. I was also given conflicting information by the office, including being told that one assistant could not see any record of the submission, and later being told that the assistant was newly hired. I understand that new staff may make mistakes. However, from a patient’s perspective, the office is still responsible for providing accurate status updates, clear records, and giving proof of submission when needed. Blaming third-party system or new staff doesn't resolve the issue. The issue remains that there was conflicting communication, lack of clear documentation at the time. In addition, I want to clarify that it is not that I do not want to contact your office directly. I had to call the office more than 40 times also send emails before I was finally able to reach someone. When the call was answered, I was told that the office only has one assistant answering calls and that the office is busy, that does not excuse the lack of communication, the difficulty reaching the office, or the conflicting information. From my experience, leaving a Google review seemed to be the fastest way to get a response from your office. I do appreciate the prompt response here, but I wish the same level of communication and urgency had been provided through the normal patient communication channels before this issue became public.
I avoided this wisdom tooth extraction surgery for two years because I was afraid, but now I couldn't avoid it anymore. It's starting to affect the adjacent teeth, so I had to come here for consultation. I'm so grateful to Dr. Fan and his team for patiently answering my questions and allaying my concerns. Yesterday, I went home after the surgery and took the medication as prescribed. It's been 24 hours now, and I'm pleasantly surprised to find that I feel absolutely no pain! If I had known it would be this easy, I should have had the surgery two years ago. Why wait until I'm older? I had two teeth extracted yesterday. I couldn't even feel the upper one being removed, but I could feel some swelling in the lower one, and there's a small lump on the edge of my jaw. I'll continue with cold compresses for another day. Thank you, this is fantastic! 👍
It was very fast, the treatment was excellent, four wisdom teeth were extracted, and I was able to eat again in a week.
This dentist is great. I had my tooth removed with anesthesia and it was great. I did not feel anything and when I woke up from the procedure the staff had me sit for a while then walked me to the Uber and were so kind. An appointment was scheduled a week later, the Dr. looked at my gum and said it was looking good. Also, I had on a very bulky sweater on the day of the procedure so staff asked if I had a t-shirt or any shirt that I could put on. I said I didn't so they had extra an extra t-shirt for me to wear during the procedure, they were prepared for that; that's one of the things that stood out to me. I'll be going back.
I was scheduled to remove all 4 of my wisdom teeth by Dr. Li. He and his team were very nice and answered any questions I had during the process. To my surprise, there was no pain at all during the recovery! The follow-up was very quick and efficient as well. Highly recommend this office!
TLDR: Please get a second opinion if they tell you that you need to remove four additional teeth on top of your four wisdom teeth. I was referred to this clinic by a dentist that I no longer go to. During the initial assessment, I was told that because my wisdom teeth were close to my nerves, they would not proceed with the surgery unless I also agreed to remove the teeth directly in FRONT of each wisdom tooth so they could access and extract them. I was also quoted around $2k for the removals and anesthesia. I was shocked and overwhelmed by the idea of having 8 teeth removed at once. After taking some time to calm down, I got a second opinion from another clinic. They told me that my situation was actually a “common sight” in wisdom teeth surgery, and I believe the total cost ended up being less than $500. This led me to believe that they were either less experienced in handling varying jaw structures or were attempting to upcharge me significantly. I am not commenting on the clinic’s actual surgical capabilities, but rather speaking purely based on the diagnosis and financial quote I was given.
Highly recommend Dr. Li! He handled my difficult wisdom tooth extraction (very close to the sinus) with expertise. I had a painless recovery and healed in just a week. The follow-up visit was quick and professional. Great experience!
After weeks of discomfort and pain, I was referred to Flushing Oral Surgery & Dental office in Flushing, New York. The office is modern and clean, and the staff is wonderful. The surgeon made me feel comfortable and confident about having my wisdom tooth removed. The procedure took less than 15 minutes and went smoothly. Although I was warned about possible pain afterward, I only experienced mild discomfort. I’m very grateful to the surgeon and the entire staff for their kindness and excellent care.
