About Fourth Avenue Dental Clinic
Based on West 4th Avenue in the Kitsilano area of Vancouver, British Columbia, Fourth Avenue Dental Clinic is a dental practice serving the area. General dentistry covers the routine and restorative care most people need most often — examinations, cleanings, fillings, and preventive checks that catch problems while they are still small and inexpensive to treat. Regular attendance, roughly every six months for most patients, is what makes that early-catch approach actually work.
Digital X-rays are a routine part of dental care because they show what a visual exam alone cannot — decay forming between teeth, bone loss below the gumline, and how developing adult teeth are positioned in children. They use a low radiation dose and are taken on a schedule matched to individual risk rather than at every single visit.
Left untreated, small dental problems tend not to stay small. A minor cavity that would have been a straightforward filling can progress to needing root canal treatment and a crown, and early gum inflammation that would have reversed with a good cleaning can progress toward bone loss around the teeth. Catching things early is generally the difference in both effort and cost.
Continuity matters in dental care — seeing the same practice over time means your history, X-rays, and any patterns in your oral health are already on file, rather than starting from scratch at each visit. That familiarity is part of what a regular dental home offers beyond any single appointment.
Dental anxiety is common, and most practices are used to working with nervous patients — through clear explanations of what is about to happen, a slower pace where needed, and sedation options for patients who want them. Avoiding the dentist out of anxiety tends to make eventual treatment more involved, not less.
Children benefit from starting dental visits early, generally by their first birthday or within six months of the first tooth coming through, mainly so they become familiar with the setting before any treatment is actually needed. Establishing that routine early tends to make ongoing checkups far less stressful for both child and parent. This page has the practice's contact details and full service list. Iv been going here simce 2022 when I moved here they are the best around won’t go anywhere else ever
Hygenist is very thorough and was able to readily change techniques while cleaning my cold-sensitive teeth.
Doctor Nishan is very professional and approachable. Great location and friendly staff.
My first appointment and first experience walking into Fourth Avenue Dental I was pleasantly greeted by receptionist and assistants. First appearance of a well staffed modern and clean dental clinic. I filled out my first-time patient form and was immediately directed to the Dental treatment area and seated. Modern and state of the art equipment made xrays fast and convenient. Very thankful for the supreme service rendered and proper procedures practiced.
Very friendly staff and the service is great, would highly recommend going here for all your dental needs.
Where do I start? Given them my business for 2 years hoping for an improvement but it only got worse. 1) Appointment booking times are merely a suggestion, it's a walk-in with extra steps. 2) You will be charged a late fee if you are late, but all my appointments were delayed by 20 minutes on average. 3) No communication with cancelled bookings or delayed order delivery (retainers). 4) They will upsell you, by far the pushiest I've experienced in MetroVan. 5) They know your insurance won't allow you to do new patient exams until 2 years later, so they burn through customer base.
I was so pleased with the care I received at Fourth Avenue Dental! Everyone- the dental hygienist, dentist and MOA- friendly, and kind. The hygienist and dentist were very gentle and accommodating of my sensitivities and discomfort. They gave lots of information about each step of the process and shared lots of helpful tips for tooth and gum care. I will definitely happily return to Fourth Ave for my dental care.
I don’t normally take the time to write reviews, but this experience truly deserved one. My wife and I have been going through a difficult time financially, and this dental clinic showed a level of care and understanding that went far beyond what we expected. They made the payment process manageable for us and didn’t charge for X-rays, examinations, or checkups, which most dentists would charge for the first examination How they manage their business honestly made a huge difference during a stressful period in our lives. What stood out even more was how they treated my wife, who deals with anxiety around surgeries (anything health related) and primarily speaks Spanish. They made the effort to have a spanish speaking dentist communicate with her, helping calm her down and clearly explain everything. That level of consideration and patience meant a lot to both of us. Dr. Nishant and his assistant Ravinder were exceptional. Both were professional, patient, and genuinely caring. They took their time and made sure everything was done properly, without rushing or cutting corners. It’s rare to find a clinic that combines professionalism with real compassion for people’s situations. I’m incredibly grateful for the way they treated us and would highly recommend them to anyone looking for honest, high quality dental care.
I had a very disappointing experience at this clinic. I went in for a tooth filling and asked three separate times—both the doctor and the receptionist—whether my insurance would fully cover the procedure. Each time, I was told it was covered and that I wouldn’t have to pay anything. The doctor even confirmed that he had already checked my insurance. However, immediately after the appointment, I was informed that my insurance only covered 80%, and I was required to pay the remaining 20% out of pocket. I had no choice but to pay at that moment. Also, shocking thing is the total cost for two fillings was $947, which is extremely high. If coverage was not 100%, this should have been clearly explained before starting the treatment. After raising my concern, the receptionist promised that the doctor would contact me, but I never received any call back. This shows a lack of accountability and poor communication. I will never return to this clinic and do not recommend it.
I was referred to this dental clinic by a friend and went in for a cleaning. The total cost came to $600, which I already found extremely high for a basic cleaning. After reviewing my invoice, I noticed a $46 charge for individual oral hygiene instructions (15 minutes) but I never received any such guidance. On top of that, the cleaning was not even completed in one visit, and they asked me to come back again just to finish the cleaning. Charging such a high amount without completing the full service is very disappointing. Adding charges for services that were not provided feels unnecessary and misleading. Please check your invoices carefully if you visit this clinic, as extra charges may be added without proper explanation. Overall, I’m very unhappy with the pricing, and incomplete service.
