About Fox Valley Dental Care Aurora

Having a periodontist in the building changes how a general practice handles tooth replacement. At Fox Valley Dental Care, Dr. Bob Dokhanchi and Dr. Aryn Pittman cover the general and restorative side while Dr. John Micaletti, DDS, MS, handles the periodontal and surgical work: gum therapy, bone and tissue grafting, sinus lifts, extractions and implant placement. For a patient that means the clinician who sets the post into the jaw and the clinician who designs the crown going on top are colleagues sharing one chart, not two offices mailing records back and forth. The practice sits in a small commercial building on West Indian Trail on Aurora's west side, with surface parking that makes an early appointment uncomplicated, and Spanish is spoken alongside English.

Before committing to an implant, understand that the timeline is set by biology rather than by the appointment book. Once a fixture is in the jaw it needs a stretch of undisturbed healing, generally three to six months, while the surrounding bone remodels onto the titanium. Disturb it too early with real chewing force and the body lays down soft fibrous tissue at the interface instead, which is the difference between an implant that lasts decades and one that has to come out. Only after that healing window does the final crown go on. If the tooth has been gone for years, the ridge underneath has usually narrowed, and a graft has to come first, adding months and cost. This is the main reason two implant quotes in Aurora can differ by thousands of dollars: one may include grafting and a sinus lift while the other does not. Ask exactly what a number covers before you compare it to anything else: surgical placement, the abutment, the crown, and the imaging are all separate line items in many treatment plans.

The restorative menu is broad. Crowns are milled in house for single-visit delivery, and the office also handles root canals, bridges, dentures, inlays and onlays, bonding, veneers, whitening, sealants, and orthodontics with either clear aligners or brackets. Digital radiographs and an intraoral scanner replace most of the putty impressions patients remember from a decade ago. Same-day slots are held for genuine emergencies: a fractured cusp, a swollen jaw, a crown that came loose the week before a trip.

Hours suit several kinds of schedule, with earlier starts Monday and Tuesday, a midday-to-evening Wednesday for people who cannot leave work in the morning, and shorter Thursday and Friday clinics. There is no weekend session, so patients who can only attend on a Saturday should plan accordingly.

Fox Valley Dental Care pairs general dentists Dr. Bob Dokhanchi and Dr. Aryn Pittman with in-house periodontist Dr. John Micaletti, so implant surgery and the crown that follows are planned by colleagues sharing one chart. The West Indian Trail office covers preventive care, same-visit milled crowns, root canals, dentures, veneers, clear aligners, grafting and extractions. Spanish is spoken and same-day slots are held for genuine emergencies. Weekdays only, with no Saturday clinic.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is there a periodontist at Fox Valley Dental Care, or is implant surgery referred out?
Dr. John Micaletti, DDS, MS, is a periodontist working within the practice, so gum treatment, bone and tissue grafting, sinus lifts and implant placement happen in the same office as the restorative work that follows. That keeps the surgical plan and the final crown design under a single chart instead of split between two practices. Complex medical histories may still prompt coordination with your physician before any surgical appointment is confirmed.
Why do implant quotes across Aurora vary so widely?
Because they cover different things. One figure may include only surgical placement of the post; another may bundle the abutment, the final crown, the scan, an extraction and bone grafting. Grafting causes the biggest swing, since a ridge that has narrowed after years without a tooth, or thin bone under the upper sinus, has to be rebuilt before placement. Ask each office for an itemised written plan, then compare line by line.
Can I book a weekend appointment here?
No. The office runs Monday through Friday, with longer days at the start of the week, a midday-to-evening Wednesday block for people who cannot get away in the morning, and shorter Thursday and Friday clinics. If weekend availability is essential, another Aurora practice will fit you better. During the working week, same-day appointments for genuine emergencies are offered when the schedule has room, so call early in the day.

Horrible...absolutely horrible. Just left in tears. Dr. Kim is rude and over talks you. Not compassionate. It's her way or nothing. Asked for my flipper to be as white as possible however it came back several shades darker or very yellow. I was told to come in and discuss it but was rudely told by Dr. Kim that even if they contact the lab they can't guarantee it will be anywhere close to what I originally selected. And she's mumbling the whole time because I originally opted to call the lab for corrections..and she had an attitude because I wanted to. $700.00 for something I won't ever where is crazy. Ultimately I walked out because Dr. Kim was unwilling to hear anything I said and was very angry I was unhappy with my teeth. Wish I had never gone. Dr. Bob used to be so great...

Dr Bob was a great dentist don't see him anymore. Never can get my children who are at college in. This is a very limited business hour location..no weekends, no Fridays, late start at 12n on Wednesday. I am sad I might have to find a new location just for my children because they can never get in when they are home for college. Really disappointing 😞 @ Dr Bob can't wait to see you in person so I can tell you how I felt about your phone call to me and the conversation, unfortunately I was at work and could not respond the way I needed to!!!!

I left the message on Saturday because in google it said they open Saturday they did not update that. Then i left message and no one called me Monday then i called them and guess what they are booked until April. I don't like there hours either. I am taking my business some where else. The person who answer the phone call at the front desk she was not polite at all.

We love Dr. Bob and how well he takes care of me and my family. Not only is he a great dentist with QUALITY work but his staff is wonderful and extremely helpful. Everyone at the office makes you feel comfortable since the moment you walk in and makes sure you understand everything that’s going on. I would highly recommend Dr. Bob to any family member/close friend because I trust him and his work! You’ll never not know what’s going on with every visit you have here. Thank you so much Dr. Bob!!!

We love Dr. Bob & his team. They are professional, thorough in their explanations, very kind and friendly. The office is beautiful, organized and very clean. My family and I have been coming here for a few years now for all of our dental care. Our hygienist Jordan is the sweetest and she is amazing with kids. I have nothing but great things to say about Dr. Bob and his wonderful staff. They are our dental family for life and I recommend them to everyone.
