Genesis Oral Surgery and Implantology is a board-certified oral and maxillofacial surgery practice led by Dr. Antoine Johnson. The scope is the full specialty range rather than a narrow implant menu: wisdom tooth removal and surgical extractions, dental implant placement and bone grafting, orthognathic jaw corrective surgery, TMJ surgery, management of facial trauma, and biopsy and treatment of oral pathology. Teeth-in-a-Day full-arch cases and sleep apnea treatment are also offered. The office is set up for intravenous sedation and outpatient general anesthesia, with staff trained to assist and patients monitored continuously during and after the procedure, which is why a sedation appointment means fasting beforehand, an escort home and a day cleared afterward.
The practice occupies Suite 308 at 8860 Columbia 100 Parkway, on the west side of Columbia off Route 108 near the Ellicott City line, and an easy drive from Clarksville, Dorsey's Search and the Centennial area. Weekday hours begin at 8:30am and run to 5pm Monday through Thursday, finishing at 3pm on Friday, with no weekend clinic. Post-operative problems over a weekend are handled by phone through the emergency line rather than by walking in, so ask at discharge exactly which number to call and what counts as urgent.
Two expectations worth setting before treatment. An oral surgeon places the implant but generally does not make the crown that goes on it. The restorative half returns to your general dentist, and the total cost is split between two offices, so collect both estimates. And recovery from third molar surgery genuinely varies. Most people are functional in three or four days, some need a full week, and lower impacted teeth are usually the sorer side. Plan for the middle case, not the best one.

Diamond your assistant was amazing, she offered me a blanket when I mentioned I was cold. She made sure I had all of the supplies and instructions to take care of myself at home. Dr. Johnson and his staff are amazing! Great customer service and excellent care. Both of my kids (20 yo and 14 yo) recently had their wisdom teeth removed and it was a great experience. Dr. Johnson and his staff explained the procedure in full detail and answered all questions. In my opinion his front desk staff has some of the best customer service, very friendly and accommodating. Dr Johnson and his staff are absolutely amazing! From check-in to the actual procedure, everyone is welcoming and knowledgeable.
