About Gentle Dental Tempe

Gentle Dental Tempe provides dental care on South McClintock Drive in Tempe, Arizona. Implants are considered by many dentists the most durable way to replace a missing tooth, since the titanium post fuses with the jaw bone over several months and then supports a crown that functions much like a natural tooth. Enough healthy bone is the main prerequisite, and a graft can build that up first if needed.

Clear aligners straighten teeth through a series of custom, removable trays, each worn for one to two weeks before moving to the next in the sequence. They suit mild to moderate crowding and spacing well, and are worn roughly twenty to twenty-two hours a day for treatment to stay on schedule.

A veneer is a thin custom shell bonded to the front of a tooth to change its shape, length, or colour, most often used to address chips, gaps, or discoloration that whitening alone cannot fix. Traditional veneers require a small amount of enamel to be removed, which makes the change permanent.

Cosmetic dentistry covers treatment aimed primarily at appearance — whitening, veneers, bonding, and reshaping among the more common options — for patients who are less concerned with a problem that hurts than with how their smile looks day to day. The right combination depends on what specifically you would like to change.

Emergency dental care covers sudden problems that will not wait for a routine appointment — severe pain, a knocked-out or fractured tooth, swelling, or a lost filling that leaves a tooth exposed. Same-day or urgent appointments are the point of an emergency service, rather than the standard multi-week booking window.

A crown covers an entire damaged tooth — used when too much structure is missing for a filling to hold reliably, whether from a large fracture, extensive decay, or after root canal treatment. It restores both the shape and the biting strength of the tooth underneath. I’ve been going to various Gentle Dental locations for years now. Always had good experience, Dr. Baddam is awesome! She’s quick, doesn’t mess around, and gets the job done!

Make sure you know what your insurance covers because they won’t. Every time I go they try to overcharge me. The office staff is incompetent and lazy. Angelica is the worst. She always gives me attitude. She told me I could contact my insurance company to find out my coverage because it’s not her job. Today she checked me in and didn’t tell the dentist I was there. After 20 minutes, the dentist asked if I showed up. I’m not going back.

1 star – Would not recommend to anyone. I came in for a routine teeth cleaning. My treatment plan only listed cleaning and a filling — no mention of X-rays they went ahead and performed a full-mouth X-ray without informing me it was a separate, billable procedure. I only found out when I received an unexpected $88 bill afterward. When I raised this with the office, instead of taking any accountability, they told me it was MY responsibility to verify my own insurance benefits. Deflecting blame onto the patient for a charge they never disclosed is simply unacceptable. That experience alone was enough for me to decide not to return for my filling. I went to their office on Monday, signed the records transfer form in person, and provided my new clinic's email address. Five days later, I called to follow up — only to be told there was no record of my request in their system. My signed form had simply vanished. This is by far the most disorganized, least transparent dental office I have ever visited. Hidden fees, zero communication, and zero accountability. Save yourself the headache — look elsewhere.

Gentle Dental did solid work overall, but the experience felt massively overcomplicated and unnecessarily expensive for what should have been a straightforward cleaning and checkup. For a simple halfway checkup, I ended up needing two separate visits, saw three different dentists, and interacted with four or five technicians. It honestly felt like a bazooka being used to kill a mosquito. A competent dentist and one technician should be more than enough to handle X-rays, a professional cleaning, and identify any real concerns. What made the experience worse was the constant upselling. I was repeatedly pushed toward additional services and told I should come in three times a year instead of the standard two. It gave the impression that maximizing billing was prioritized over practical patient care. Even though they accepted my insurance, I still had out-of-pocket costs, while other dental offices I’ve been to covered routine visits 100% without turning the appointment into a multi-person production line. The actual dental work was good, which is why I’m not leaving a harsh review. But the overall system felt overly corporate, overstaffed, and financially aggressive. To top it off, one of the technicians even asked where I worked because she said she hated working there. That alone said a lot about the environment behind the scenes.

I chose Gentle Dental after a very friendly interaction with Antoinette, a front office staff and after my husband raved about them. During the initial appointment I had a thorough examination and I was able to have an in person consultation with each of the specialists that would be working on my teeth. I found that so reassuring. I found the treatment plan that was developed innovative and a different approach than the pull and implant school of thought. The front office was very helpful setting up appointments for me that worked with my schedule. Again, I was treated so well by that staff and her friendliness was very reassuring..

I am writing to express my sincere thanks for the excellent care I received during my recent gum surgery. Everything went incredibly smoothly. I truly appreciate Dr Goldfarb listening to my concerns about pain and taking such great care to ensure I was comfortable throughout the entire procedure. It also meant a lot to me that he followed up afterwards to make sure there were no problems during my recovery. I very much appreciated the professionalism which made this a positive experience rather than a negative one.
