About Gill Family Dentistry

Gill Family Dentistry is a general dentistry practice on West Base Line Street in the Mount Vernon area of San Bernardino, offering routine and restorative family dental care for patients across the surrounding neighborhoods. As a general practice, it's built around ongoing family relationships rather than one-off, single-procedure visits. The Mount Vernon corridor has long been one of San Bernardino's established residential areas, and a general practice along its main street fits that neighborhood pattern well, serving families who've lived there for years.

Patients researching a family dental practice on Base Line Street, or general dentistry near me in the Mount Vernon area, will find cleanings, exams, fillings, crowns, root canals, and basic extractions handled in-house as part of a broader general-dentistry program. That in-house range covers most of what comes up across a family's dental care in a given year, from a child's routine cleaning to a parent's crown or filling, without needing a separate referral for common restorative work that comes up over the course of a normal year.

If you're in the Mount Vernon area of San Bernardino and want a family dentist close to home along Base Line Street, Gill Family Dentistry is worth a first visit.

Cost for dental treatment depends on the specific procedure, so it's worth asking directly what a given visit or treatment plan runs rather than assuming a flat rate. For San Bernardino families weighing where to anchor their long-term dental care, or anyone searching for a dentist for the whole family in this part of the city, Gill Family Dentistry's neighborhood location and general-dentistry scope make it a reasonable option to add to that shortlist before settling on a regular provider for the whole household, whether the priority is routine prevention or catching up on delayed care that's been put off for a while.

Frequently Asked Questions

Where is Gill Family Dentistry located in San Bernardino?
Gill Family Dentistry is on West Base Line Street in the Mount Vernon area of San Bernardino, California (92411).
What days is Gill Family Dentistry open?
Gill Family Dentistry is open Monday through Saturday. Contact the practice through this page to confirm current appointment times before travelling.
What services does Gill Family Dentistry offer?
Listed services at Gill Family Dentistry include Cosmetic Dentistry, Root Canal Treatment, Emergency Dentistry, Dental Crowns and Dental Bridges. The full list is shown on this page.
What should I do if a tooth gets knocked out?
Pick the tooth up by the crown rather than the root, rinse it gently without scrubbing, and try to place it back in the socket. If that is not possible, keep it in milk and get to a dentist quickly — the chances of saving it drop sharply after the first hour.
When do you actually need a crown instead of a filling?
A crown is used when too much of the tooth is missing for a filling to hold reliably — after a large fracture, extensive decay, or root canal treatment. The crown covers the whole tooth and takes the biting force off the weakened structure.
How long does it take to get a dental crown?
The traditional route is two appointments a couple of weeks apart, with a temporary crown in between while the permanent one is made in a laboratory. Some practices have equipment that mills a crown on site in a single visit.

I’ve been coming to Dr. Gills office for years and can say they are all amazing. The doctors are very professional, I got a tour of the office- it’s equipped with really impressive , modern technology and latest machines. I had my extractions and bridge done with Dr. Chung , who is incredibly thorough and skilled, the extractions were smooth and painless! Dr. Gill and treatment coordinator took their time explaining the process to me and made sure I felt comfortable. I was also impressed with the microscope they use to do treatment- it really shows their attention to detail , very high quality service, thank you doctors and staff!!🙏🏿🙏🏿

I had a very bad experience at this dental office and would not recommend it. From the beginning, there were red flags. During my first visit, Dr.Gill came into room didn't introduce himself, NO CHAIR SIDE MANNER, attempted to examine my mouth without gloves, which immediately made me uncomfortable and concerned about cleanliness and safety. The office itself did not feel clean, and the overall environment was unprofessional. Dr.Gill was rough during treatment, impatient, and spoke in a rude manner, not only to me, but also to his staff. You could clearly tell the staff seemed uneasy and were walking on eggshells around him. The structure of the office was also confusing. The hygienist appeared to be handling multiple roles, including treatment planning and billing, which didn't feel organized or reassuring. I had two crowns done, and within a week, both broke while eating normal food (I am not a grinder). When I returned to have one addressed, the appointment lasted nearly three hours, even though the tooth had already been prepared. The doctor repeatedly adjusted the tooth and aggressively worked arounds m gums, which left them very irritated. I was then told it was somehow my fault. The process for the crown was also concerning. The scam/impression was never properly completed and left with a temporary crown that I have had since October 2025 because I no longer feel comfortable returning to this office. Overall, this experience felt unsafe, unprofessional, and poorly managed. I would strongly advise others to seek care elsewhere.

Upon signing in, they gave my fiancé three blank documents, one of them being a blank financial agreement and a “consent”. They said they need signatures on these before going to the back. He signed under the agreement that it’ll be filled out after our visit. Not only did it take 1 hour for X-rays and a cleaning, Mandeep (Mandy) Gill quoted my fiance a large amount for a “bunch of work that he needed done” because he had 2 cavities, needed extensive root canals, and a bridge or implants because one tooth could not be saved. On top of that, we told her that we had some concerns because we are looking to buy a house and cannot have any new inquiries. She tried convincing us by saying we would only pay $200 (common sales tactic) a month and we won’t need the full five years that the care credit offers. We decided to ask for only the estimate, she then went on to get aggressive and started asking what my fiance plans to do with his teeth because he has a lot going on that is urgent. She went on to say just how urgent and we told her again we wanted to think about it. She then went on to say our insurance is about to renew and we will miss out on the benefits. She said she can max out our benefits on one side of his mouth and come back later. Again, we told her we’d wait and she went to “draft the estimate” that we were just reviewing. She came back 10 minutes later from her seat at the reception desk (not an office) and came back to our discussion about buying a home and said we can just put the credit on mine since the house will only be under my finances name. She went on to lie to my fiance saying even if he was to pull out the loan, it won’t show up on his credit report until mid May. We hesitated because now it just became awkward. She then went on to emphasize how she will be waiving their insurance fees that are normally double the cost and she “doesn’t have to do that” but she will. She tried to persuade us into having SOME work done with “in house plans” (financing) where only some will be due now and the rest later. She tried to scare my fiance telling him since he put off coming to the dentist for so long, more time is just going to make it worse and eventually his whole mouth will swell and put him in the ER. She states that her doctor that will do the work only comes once a month and uses machines from Japan, and other countries (to be honest I zoned out because I already knew it was a sales push) At this point, we declined everything and just asked for the estimate. She began asking if my fiance was allergic to any medication and told him that she’s going to put in a prescription for pain medication that is optional. Since my fiance had no pain and never claimed to have pain, I intervened and respectfully declined the prescription to be sent off to CVS. She got defensive and told me that they don’t make money off prescriptions and it’s her legal obligation etc etc. At the end, we asked once again, for the finalized estimates to which she said she can have tomorrow or if we give her 15-20 minutes she can have it done today. When my fiance came back to get the estimates 15 mins later, she didn’t even speak to him upon his greeting and farewell. She didn’t get what she wanted by manipulating some young adults. Would not recommend. We were there from 2:45 to 5 pm. On top of that, the estimates say there is a $1000 cancellation fee if you decide to cancel treatment. In the state of California, you are allowed 3 days right to cancel and 5 days if you’re a senior. Don’t be taken advantage of. Steer CLEAR. And don’t bother following up Miss Gill.

Our experience at Dr.Gills Family Dentistry has been mostly good. The staff is all very friendly and the dental service itself is good (we’ve not had many problems with our dental work done). The only reason why I give it four stars instead of five is because there have been times where due to lack of effective communication, we’ve had to reschedule our appointments or we’re left a little confused about what to expect next in treatment plan. I would say to ask as many questions as you have and be sure to follow up with them often and you should be good ! :)
