About Glendale Dental Smiles

Glendale Dental Smiles is a dental practice on West Thunderbird Road in Glendale, Arizona. Clear aligners straighten teeth through a series of custom, removable trays, each worn for one to two weeks before moving to the next in the sequence. They suit mild to moderate crowding and spacing well, and are worn roughly twenty to twenty-two hours a day for treatment to stay on schedule.

Continuity matters in dental care — seeing the same practice over time means your history, X-rays, and any patterns in your oral health are already on file, rather than starting from scratch at each visit. That familiarity is part of what a regular dental home offers beyond any single appointment.

Dental anxiety is common, and most practices are used to working with nervous patients — through clear explanations of what is about to happen, a slower pace where needed, and sedation options for patients who want them. Avoiding the dentist out of anxiety tends to make eventual treatment more involved, not less.

Children benefit from starting dental visits early, generally by their first birthday or within six months of the first tooth coming through, mainly so they become familiar with the setting before any treatment is actually needed. Establishing that routine early tends to make ongoing checkups far less stressful for both child and parent.

Payment and insurance arrangements vary by practice and by treatment, so it is worth asking directly what is covered and what options exist for anything that is not, rather than assuming either way. Getting that clarified before treatment starts avoids surprises once it is underway.

Beyond any single treatment, most dental visits start with an examination — checking for decay, reviewing the gums, and looking at existing fillings or crowns — often alongside X-rays where there is a reason to look between or beneath teeth. That groundwork is what a dentist uses to explain any findings and set out next steps before you leave. What days is Glendale Dental Smiles open?
Glendale Dental Smiles is open Monday through Friday. Contact the practice through this page to confirm current appointment times before travelling.
What services does Glendale Dental Smiles offer?

How many hours a day do I need to wear clear aligners?
Around twenty to twenty-two hours daily is the usual instruction — effectively all the time except when eating, drinking anything other than water, and cleaning your teeth. Treatment slows noticeably if that is not kept to.
Can clear aligners fix any orthodontic problem?
They handle mild to moderate crowding and spacing well. Complex bite corrections and large tooth movements are still often better suited to fixed braces, which is something an assessment will clarify.
How often should I have a dental check-up?
Every six months suits most people. If you have gum disease or a history of decay a dentist may suggest coming more often. The point of regular visits is mostly to catch problems while they are still small and cheap to treat.

I don’t write reviews often, but I feel a responsibility to warn people, especially anyone considering Invisalign - about what I experienced with Dr. Richard Feldhake. I paid for Invisalign in full upfront, and my trays never fit from the very first one. There were visible gaps that were never properly addressed. Rather than ordering corrective trays, which Invisalign allows, and which I later confirmed directly with the manufacturer and multiple other providers, he insisted on filing my teeth down repeatedly across appointments trying to force a fit that was never going to work. He would physically force the trays into my mouth. I was in constant pain from the trays digging into my gums. When I raised concerns, he became verbally aggressive and told me it was my fault. I was also told I would have to pay for an entirely new Invisalign treatment if I needed corrective trays, which is simply not true. The lowest point came during a cavity appointment. He grabbed my jaw forcefully, not for any clinical reason, but because he was frustrated I hadn’t turned my head to the angle he wanted. He then dropped his instrument and stormed out of the room. His assistant had to apologize for him, and finish the procedure while I sat there with a tear running down my face in shock. I was completely vulnerable in that chair, and he used that moment to physically express his anger. Leaving the practice was its own ordeal. Getting my trays, which I had paid for in full and were my property, was a battle. Getting my records proved equally difficult, and I never received them in full. I left with bonded buttons still cemented to my teeth that took two subsequent dentists to remove, teeth that had been unnecessarily filed down, and a paid-for Invisalign treatment I was never able to properly restart because he refused to acknowledge his errors or do right by me. This was one of the worst experiences of my life. Please go somewhere else.

Dr. Feldhake is the best dentist. He is very thorough and an absolute perfectionist. He did snap in implants on my bottom teeth, crowns on my top teeth and even made a partial denture for the top. There's nothing he cant do. This was in 2017 and both him and his staff were so kind and understanding also. I spent almost a year getting everything done but I was so happy. I had just lost both parents and my best friend of 20 years and had other traumatic things going on and they were so understanding. Im returning now this month and wouldn't want to go anywhere else!

Communicated with front desk about traffic and being a little bit late, front desk said it was fine! That was not the case. When I got there I couldn’t believe the service I received. The disrespect……. NICKHOLE (the one with the bad attitude & a haircut that is was worse than her Attitude…) RUDE, Inconsiderate and unprofessional. At the end of the day she wasn’t even being spoken to…. Don’t have a conversation around her unless you want your privacy invaded.. 0 stars to that girl w the horrible haircut!!!!

Going there for almost 3 years I think and it’s been great. Brad, my hygienist today, was super efficient, professional, and kind. He killed it

Dentists are my least favorite thing in the whole world. I frequently have bad experiences with dentists, and their offices in general. You can imagine how absolutely thrilled I am to have found Glendale Dental Smiles! The Dr, and staff were amazingly professional and helpful, the office was clean and welcoming, and after multiple trips to multiple different offices, I finally found a dentist that was able to work with me to setup a treatment plan that works, that I can afford, and for the first time ever, I don't feel quite so bad about all this stuff. If you are looking for a dentist, or not happy with your dentist, go see the good folks at Glendale Dental Smiles and let them put a smile back on your face.

Dr. Feldhake is the most skilled and competent dentist I have ever met. His abilities and restorations are unsurpassed. I am a dentist myself and can say with confidence that the level of his work is excellent. I have all my work completed there and everything he has completed has lasted decades. He makes each patient feel special, especially his special needs patients, which he has a surgical center with sedation to accommodate. The staff is friendly and professional. I recommend Dr. Feldhake without reservation and wholeheartedly.

I have been going to this dentist for almost over a year. They are great. The hygienists are really friendly and make you feel comfortable while you are getting your teeth cleaned. Dr. Feldhake is very nice as well. I love that they have days that they are open early so I can come and get my teeth cleaned before work and don't have to take time off. They also send reminders and emails to remind you it's time to get your teeth cleaned. I even recommended my mom!
