Goldsberry Orthodontics

Three decades of braces and Invisalign from a single-doctor Sugar House office on 1300 East

About Goldsberry Orthodontics

Most general dentists refer out anything beyond minor tooth movement, and the specialist they send you to spends a residency doing nothing but moving teeth through bone. That is the discipline Dr. Bart Goldsberry has practiced for more than three decades from an office on 1300 East in Sugar House. The work is braces, both metal and lower-profile options, plus Invisalign for patients who would rather not wear brackets, along with retainers, orthodontic emergency care, and in-office and take-home whitening once alignment is finished.

Before you book, the decision you are actually making is between a large multi-office group and a single-doctor office where the same orthodontist adjusts your wires every visit. The trade-off is real: groups can offer more appointment slots and more locations, while a long-tenured solo practice offers continuity, and the person who planned your case is the person who finishes it. Ask at the consultation who will be doing your adjustments, and how often the doctor is physically in this office.

Mechanically, both routes do the same thing. Brackets and wires apply steady, light force; the bone on the pressure side resorbs and the bone on the tension side rebuilds, which is why treatment is measured in months rather than weeks and why skipping adjustments stalls progress. Clear aligners achieve the same remodeling in a series of trays, and are excellent for crowding and spacing but less predictable for large rotations, significant bite correction and molar movement. An orthodontist will tell you which category your case falls into before you commit, and that answer, not the appliance you would prefer, should drive the plan.

The location is convenient in a specific way. 2025 South 1300 East is a short walk from Westminster University and minutes from Highland High School and Sugar House Park, which makes school-hours and after-school appointments realistic for east-side families. The office runs Monday through Thursday, opening at 7am, early enough to get a wire change in before first period, and it is closed Fridays and weekends, so plan adjustment visits accordingly. There is no evening coverage, worth knowing if your household cannot leave work mid-afternoon.

A single-doctor orthodontic office in Sugar House where Dr. Bart Goldsberry has treated braces and Invisalign cases for more than thirty years, with whitening offered once alignment is finished. The 7am Monday-to-Thursday schedule works around school hours for east-side families; there is no Friday or weekend clinic.

Frequently Asked Questions

Am I too old for braces?
No. Adult orthodontics is a large share of most practices now, and the biology is the same at forty as at fourteen: light, sustained force remodels the bone around the root. What changes is that adults have no jaw growth left to work with, so cases that would rely on growth are handled differently, and existing crowns, gum recession or missing teeth need to be factored into the plan first.
The office is closed Fridays, so what happens if a bracket breaks over the weekend?
This office runs Monday through Thursday, 7am to 5pm, and handles orthodontic emergencies during those hours. A loose bracket or a poking wire over a weekend is uncomfortable but rarely urgent. Orthodontic wax pressed over the sharp point usually gets you through, and a clean nail clipper can shorten a wire that is digging into your cheek. Call first thing Monday and the repair can be fitted in.
Braces or Invisalign, how do I decide?
The case decides more than preference does. Aligners handle crowding, spacing and mild bite correction well, and they come out for meals and brushing, but they only work if you wear them twenty to twenty-two hours a day. Fixed brackets are more predictable for large rotations, extrusion and significant bite changes, and they take compliance out of the equation entirely. Ask which category your bite falls into at the consultation.

We love Dr. Goldsberry. He has been a great orthodontist. He takes time with my kids every time we visit the office. Other offices we’ve been to the assistant does all the work and the orthodontist only stop in for a second at the end. Dr. Goldsberry is very involved in the whole treatment process which we love. We have had an awesome experience!

I had my braces done at Goldsberry orthodontics and it was an excellent experience. The staff was easy and fun to work with and it made scheduling appointments seamless. They were on time for every appointment and never kept me waiting. Dr. Goldsberry is funny, engaging, and made an otherwise awkward experience as enjoyable as it could be. Could not recommend any more!

We love Dr. Goldsberry! All four of my children have had their orthodontic treatment done by him. He treats everyone like family and the office staff is wonderful! My daughter had terrible anxiety one time and was crying and he let us slip in the back door so the waiting room wouldn’t see her come in. He genuinely gets to know everyone and is very knowledgeable. My children’s results have been fantastic. Highly recommend him!!

We love Dr. Goldsberry and all of the office staff. All of our kids were treated by Dr. Goldsberry. He is so kind and gentle. Explains everything so well and is very thorough. Does not recommend treatments that aren’t necessary. Office staff is so friendly, always smiling, and always happy to help make appointments work with our hectic schedule.

Dr. Goldsberry has treated all 5 of our children. A couple of our kids had pretty gnarly teeth that required some creativity, but Bart to excellent care of us. His staff are the best—always friendly and helpful.
