I bought a friend that has dementia and the whole staff was very accommodating and helpful. He had a tooth removed. Was very satisfied with Gooch Dental!

I thought i was liking these folks but my second appointment, they would not do anything until i signed a procedural contract which actually made me mad. I guess the office looks so professional because they only care about the money. Never had an experience like that. I just left!

Always enjoy coming to have my dental checkup at Dr. Gooch’s office. The dental hygienists are always friendly and thorough and so willing to make you as comfortable as possible while you have your cleaning. It’s always good to see Dr. Gooch. He’s warm and outgoing and so easy to discuss anything with. I recommend his practice anytime I can!

I had the best experience this morning at Gooch Family Dental! I could not have asked for a better hygienist! Lilly went above and beyond to ensure that I felt comfortable and that I understood each individual step of the cleaning process. She was an absolute joy to work with! I always look forward to coming back every 6 months for my routine cleaning. I would easily recommend Gooch Family Dental as they are Birmingham’s premier dentistry!

This place will overcharge you. No transparent pricing. I have been charged 4 times and only once did I get a receipt - not even a detailed receipt of what I paid for. In 2 months they increased my bill estimate by $20 but didn't give me the printout of the updated plan amount. Also, the dental hygienist who cleaned my teeth stabbed my tongue with an implement so I yelled ouch! She also forgot to floss my bridge. I had to ask her. Billing acts as if you understand math without a calculator and if you ask questions about the plan, they make you feel like you're being cheap or something. Also, Dr. Gooch himself said we will do 2 cleanings, 4 hrs total. "You have a disease we will clean each quadrant an hour each". I didn't get it done right away because I had a slipped disc and when I went, I said I'm in some pain,. I might not be able to lie for 2 hours. This was supposed to be the first of two 2 hour appointments. Well guess what? The dental hygienist finished in 45 minutes. I paid $635 for 45 minutes! That's like $1,000/hr. The cleaning was supposed to take 4 hours total and it took 45 minutes! That means they're committing fraud - They are charging for a service that they did not provide. It is not a coincidence that they have a 3.8 rating here. I'm going to talk to the office manager and demand all itemized receipts, my records. They are literally overcharging me - more than the estimate I was shown. (Photo shows the amount of rinse you don't use (80%?). they tell you to use it 10 times it costs you about $50 and then they tell you to throw it away.)

With this being my first appointment, Dr. Gooch and the entire staff made me feel very comfortable and welcoming. They provided me with great feedback & advice and I look forward to all of my future appointments. I would highly recommend to anyone looking for great dental care. This is an amazing team who handles work with professionalism. Thank you for everything!

Had an amazing experience here! Chasity was my dental hygienist and she was so sweet, patient, and professional. She explained everything clearly and made me feel really comfortable throughout the appointment. She even brought me a warm blanket which was so thoughtful. The whole staff was friendly and the office was very welcoming. Definitely recommend!
