About Grace Dental Group

Based on Divisadero Street in the Lower Haight area of San Francisco, California, Grace Dental Group is a dental practice serving the area. Gum disease treatment ranges from a deeper professional cleaning for early inflammation through to more involved periodontal care once bone around the teeth has started to be affected. Bleeding gums are usually the earliest sign, and the early stage is reversible with proper cleaning and better daily plaque control.

A first appointment at a new practice typically covers a full examination, a review of your dental and medical history, and a professional cleaning, with X-rays if you do not have recent ones. It is also a reasonable time to raise any longer-term concerns, cosmetic or otherwise, so they can be factored into a plan going forward.

Day-to-day oral health still comes down to the basics between visits — brushing twice daily with fluoride toothpaste, cleaning between the teeth, and limiting how often sugary food and drink appear through the day matters more than the total amount eaten at once. Regular professional care is what catches whatever those habits do not.

Digital X-rays are a routine part of dental care because they show what a visual exam alone cannot — decay forming between teeth, bone loss below the gumline, and how developing adult teeth are positioned in children. They use a low radiation dose and are taken on a schedule matched to individual risk rather than at every single visit.

Left untreated, small dental problems tend not to stay small. A minor cavity that would have been a straightforward filling can progress to needing root canal treatment and a crown, and early gum inflammation that would have reversed with a good cleaning can progress toward bone loss around the teeth. Catching things early is generally the difference in both effort and cost. Frequently Asked Questions

Where is Grace Dental Group located in San Francisco?
Grace Dental Group is on Divisadero Street in the Lower Haight area of San Francisco, California (94117).
What days is Grace Dental Group open?

What services does Grace Dental Group offer?
Listed services at Grace Dental Group include Gum Disease Treatment. The full list is shown on this page.
What is scaling and root planing?
It is a deep cleaning that goes below the gumline to remove bacterial deposits from the root surfaces and smooth them so the gum can reattach. It is normally carried out under local anaesthetic, often over more than one appointment.
Can gum disease make you lose teeth?
Yes — advanced gum disease is a leading cause of tooth loss in adults. It destroys the bone and fibres holding teeth in place, which is why teeth eventually loosen, and it usually progresses without pain.
Why do dentists take X-rays?
Decay between teeth and problems below the gumline are invisible to the naked eye, so X-rays are what reveal them. Modern digital images use a low dose and are taken only when clinically justified.

So, I’ve had around 10 appointments over the past 6 months (don’t ask me why), and I’ve fallen in love with this place and the entire team. Dr. Lee is an amazing person and a true professional. The assistants are always cracking jokes, and the whole experience is genuinely fun. And a separate ❤️ goes to the adorable receptionists- those two girls are willing to do everything and anything to make their patients feel welcome and satisfied and also get their meds on time :) Needless to say - I will always come back.

I rarely leave one star reviews but I must because I question their business practices. Like another reviewer Grace Dental told me that I need to get 7 fillings. I went to Golden Gate dental and they said I only needed 1. Suspicious practices at best. If they tell you to get multiple fillings I recommend a second opinion.

I’ve been coming to Grace Dental since 2018, and I cannot recommend them enough! Over the years, they have taken fantastic care of my teeth, from routine cleanings to flawless filling and root canal work. The entire staff is professional, gentle, and incredibly thorough with every treatment. I’m currently doing my Invisalign treatment with them as well, and the results and guidance along the way have been amazing. It is truly a top-tier dental practice that makes you feel comfortable and valued as a patient!

I had been looking for a good dentist for a while, but when I only had HMO insurance my options were really limited and a lot of the offices I found had poor reviews. I actually waited until I could switch my insurance so I could come to Grace Dental since they were close to me and highly recommended. I’m really glad I did. I had a great experience with both Dr. Lee and Dr. Lin. I had a great cleaning and then needed fillings for the first time. Both doctors had great bedside manner, explained everything clearly, and made me feel comfortable throughout the process. The treatment plan and instructions were very clear, the office was clean, and the staff were all so sweet and welcoming. Definitely worth the wait and I would recommend Grace Dental to anyone looking for a caring and professional dental office.

Honestly one of the best experiences I’ve had at a dentist office. Everyone was super friendly and made the whole process easy and comfortable. The dentist explained everything clearly and didn’t make me feel rushed at all. You can tell they actually care about their patients and want to do good work instead of just getting people in and out. Definitely glad I found this place and I’d recommend them to anyone looking for a good dentist.

Like a well oiled machine, quick and efficient, but also kind, and personable. The whole staff was professional, knowledgeable, friendly, and welcoming. The office was very new and state of the art, clean and comfortable. I had a teeth cleaning as well as a cavity filled, both were competently performed with care, and an efficiency that surprised me in the best possible way. All went nice and smooth like you want it to when you’re stressed about your teeth! Happy to find my new dentist!
