About Great Expressions Dental Centers- Detroit Midtown

Great Expressions Dental Centers on Woodward Avenue in Midtown Detroit is built as a family dental practice, handling everyday care for one household under one roof - a toddler's first cleaning, a teenager's filling, a grandparent's bridge repair. The same office sees a child in for a routine visit and a parent in for a root canal on the same afternoon. One phone call and one address covers most of what comes up between checkups: a chipped tooth, a filling that's aged out, a cleaning that's overdue.

Cleanings and gum disease treatment cover routine maintenance, catching problems like early tooth decay before they become bigger repairs. Once decay has progressed, fillings and crowns are the next step, with a root canal - removing infected tissue from inside a tooth rather than pulling it - offered before extraction. Bridges fill the gap left by a missing tooth by anchoring to the teeth on either side, while cosmetic dentistry and teeth whitening address appearance rather than a specific problem. Emergency dentistry stands apart: a cracked tooth or sudden pain gets worked into the schedule differently than a six-month cleaning. Affordable dental care is listed as its own priority alongside the clinical services.

If you're the one keeping track of everyone's dental appointments - a kid's cleaning, a partner's crown, your own overdue checkup - having fillings, root canals, and emergency care under one address means fewer offices to coordinate around.

What any of this costs depends on specifics - a simple filling and a crown that needs a lab-made restoration are priced differently, and a root canal versus an extraction is its own conversation once the tooth is examined. None of that gets settled without a look at the tooth in question, which is normal for dental work generally. Great Expressions Dental Centers on Woodward Avenue suits households that would rather manage prevention, repair, and the occasional emergency through one office than split a bridge fitting from a whitening appointment across two practices. For a family whose dental needs shift over time, that consolidation is the practical draw.

Great Expressions Dental Centers in Midtown Detroit offers family dental care spanning cleanings, fillings, crowns, root canals, bridges, extractions, cosmetic dentistry, and emergency visits for households managing routine and urgent needs alike.

What is dry socket and how do I avoid it?
Dry socket happens when the blood clot protecting the healing site is lost too early, exposing bone, and it is notably painful. Avoiding smoking, drinking through a straw, and vigorous rinsing in the first few days is the main prevention.
Can I pay for dental work in instalments?
Some practices offer in-house payment arrangements and others work with third-party finance providers. Availability varies, so it is a fair question to ask when you first make contact rather than at the point of treatment.
Why do dental prices vary so much between practices?
Materials, laboratory costs, the time a procedure takes, and local operating costs all feed into the price, and the same treatment name can cover quite different work. Asking what a quoted figure actually includes is usually more useful than comparing headline prices.

The lady at the front desk was an absolute sweetheart. Got me checked in and had my paperwork ready for when I arrived. The girl who brought me back was okay she was nice but I don’t think she asked the correct questions it was as if she wanted me to pin point one issue I was having and that’s not why I was there entirely.I feel like I got X-rays taken for no reason and only for the one side she believed was the pinpointed issue. I scheduled for a cleaning and overall exam. But I could barely get that out because they seemed like they were in a rush. The dentist she came in looked in my mouth for 2minutes decided my wisdom teeth needed to come out but, did not check any of my other teeth so this wasn’t even a full exam like I expected it to be. She wasn’t in the room longer than 2-5minutes (5min is me being kind felt like 5seconds) in that time I didn’t even get to address my concerns to her. Mind you I was the 1st appointment when they opened at 8am. So I’m not sure why the dentist couldn’t even have a conversation with me. Then the other assistant took me to the hygienist very sweet girl I wish I remembered her name I enjoyed speaking with her while I waited on Reggie the Hygienist. Reggie is absolutely phenomenal, he took his time to actually clean my teeth very through. It felt like I had a brand new set of teeth and he was very nice as well. Overall the staff is nice and truly are why I rated 3 stars but I wish I could’ve talk to the dentist and didn’t feel so rushed. That’s why I transferred from the Great Expressions in Roseville. I don’t like feeling like you just want my money and for me to leave as opposed to actually seeing if you’ve addressed my concerns. I would simply come back to Midtown because of Reggie I haven’t had a good cleaning in a long time and he was GREAT! I’d also like to add I returned to Midtown because I was a patient there when Dr.Grey was the dentist and I always had great experiences with them so I thought coming here would’ve been better. The office looks nothing like when he was there it was kinda ran down and things looked outdated and old. Didn’t look very welcoming to me.

At 56 I've had a lifelong struggle with finding a good dentist. I've finally found her. I highly recommend. From the staff techs and dentist, all around great!
