About Green Dentistry - Dr. Namrata Patel

Based on Post Street in the Union Square area of San Francisco, California, Green Dentistry - Dr. Namrata Patel is a dental practice serving the area. Holistic, or biological, dentistry applies standard dental diagnosis and treatment within an approach that emphasises material choice and conservative treatment, considering oral health as connected to the body more broadly rather than treating the mouth in isolation.

Continuity matters in dental care — seeing the same practice over time means your history, X-rays, and any patterns in your oral health are already on file, rather than starting from scratch at each visit. That familiarity is part of what a regular dental home offers beyond any single appointment.

Dental anxiety is common, and most practices are used to working with nervous patients — through clear explanations of what is about to happen, a slower pace where needed, and sedation options for patients who want them. Avoiding the dentist out of anxiety tends to make eventual treatment more involved, not less.

Children benefit from starting dental visits early, generally by their first birthday or within six months of the first tooth coming through, mainly so they become familiar with the setting before any treatment is actually needed. Establishing that routine early tends to make ongoing checkups far less stressful for both child and parent.

Payment and insurance arrangements vary by practice and by treatment, so it is worth asking directly what is covered and what options exist for anything that is not, rather than assuming either way. Getting that clarified before treatment starts avoids surprises once it is underway.

Beyond any single treatment, most dental visits start with an examination — checking for decay, reviewing the gums, and looking at existing fillings or crowns — often alongside X-rays where there is a reason to look between or beneath teeth. That groundwork is what a dentist uses to explain any findings and set out next steps before you leave. Do holistic dentists use fillings without mercury?
Practices describing themselves this way typically favour tooth-coloured composite and ceramic materials over amalgam. If material choice is your reason for choosing a practice, it is worth confirming directly what they use.
Are holistic dentists still trained in regular dentistry?
Yes. A holistic practice is a licensed dental practice that has chosen a particular philosophy around materials and conservative treatment — it is not a separate qualification, and standard diagnosis and treatment still apply.
Why do dentists take X-rays?
Decay between teeth and problems below the gumline are invisible to the naked eye, so X-rays are what reveal them. Modern digital images use a low dose and are taken only when clinically justified.

I have a high level of dental phobia. Dr Nammy & her staff put me at ease & gave me all I needed to get through the treatment. It’s a warm & caring group with lots of bonus extras to help calm patients down. The weighted blanket & warm neck wrap were great. Highly recommend Dr Nammy & her team!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5 STARS + BONUS +10! Dr. Patel is honestly the BEST dentist I’ve ever been to. I haven’t been to a dentist in years because of fear and anxiety around dental visits, so walking through the doors was a big deal for me. From the moment I arrived, the entire experience felt completely different. It’s honestly more like a dental day spa than a dentist office. The front desk girls, Lindsey and Christine, are Amazing !! the new addition to the team was very nice too Simin !! They are incredibly attentive, welcoming, and genuinely make you feel taken care of. They even have little touches like Hurricane Water, heat wraps or cold wraps depending on what you need. Those details make such a huge difference when you’re already nervous about being at the dentist. I’m a musician and I sing a lot, so I’ve always been very self-conscious about my teeth and my smile. Knowing that I had gone so long without seeing a dentist made me even more nervous about coming in. But Dr. Patel and the whole team made me feel comfortable and never judged me. That alone means a lot. I walked in with fear and walked out feeling like, “Why did I wait so long?” Professional, attentive, comfortable, welcoming, and just an overall amazing experience. 5 out of 5 stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ But honestly… BONUS +10! 🔥 If you’re someone who has been avoiding the dentist because of fear, anxiety, or embarrassment, this is the place I would recommend.

Fantastic services, amenities, and care. Dr. Patel is clearly knowledgeable, warm, and holistic-health thinking. The office and services are top-notch, including the professional and welcoming staff. Generous and thoughtful, while still taking time to explain practicalities and financial options. Great location and availability, especially if you have more complicated dental, oral, and health needs to address. On top of that, they donate and support environments, healthcare, & education across the globe!
