About Greenberg Dental & Orthodontics

Greenberg Dental & Orthodontics operates on West Hillsborough Avenue in the Northwest Tampa area of Tampa, Florida. Orthodontic treatment straightens teeth and corrects bite problems using braces, clear aligners, or similar appliances over a period that commonly runs from about a year to several years depending on the case. It is offered to both children, where early evaluation can catch developing issues, and adults at any age.

Dental anxiety is common, and most practices are used to working with nervous patients — through clear explanations of what is about to happen, a slower pace where needed, and sedation options for patients who want them. Avoiding the dentist out of anxiety tends to make eventual treatment more involved, not less.

Children benefit from starting dental visits early, generally by their first birthday or within six months of the first tooth coming through, mainly so they become familiar with the setting before any treatment is actually needed. Establishing that routine early tends to make ongoing checkups far less stressful for both child and parent.

Payment and insurance arrangements vary by practice and by treatment, so it is worth asking directly what is covered and what options exist for anything that is not, rather than assuming either way. Getting that clarified before treatment starts avoids surprises once it is underway.

Beyond any single treatment, most dental visits start with an examination — checking for decay, reviewing the gums, and looking at existing fillings or crowns — often alongside X-rays where there is a reason to look between or beneath teeth. That groundwork is what a dentist uses to explain any findings and set out next steps before you leave.

Routine attendance, roughly every six months for most people, is what actually keeps small problems small. A lot of decay and gum disease develops without any pain in its early stages, which is why regular checkups matter even when nothing seems to be wrong, rather than only booking an appointment once something hurts. Frequently Asked Questions

Where is Greenberg Dental & Orthodontics located in Tampa?

What days is Greenberg Dental & Orthodontics open?

How do I know if I need orthodontic treatment?
Visible crowding or gaps are the obvious signs, but bite problems — teeth not meeting correctly, jaw discomfort, or uneven wear — are just as common a reason, and those are best assessed in person.
What is the difference between an orthodontist and a general dentist doing braces?
An orthodontist has completed additional years of specialist training focused specifically on tooth movement and bite correction, beyond the general dental degree. Some general dentists also offer braces or aligners after extra training.
How can I look after my teeth between appointments?
Brushing twice a day with fluoride toothpaste and cleaning between the teeth daily covers most of it. Limiting how often sugary food and drink appear through the day matters more than the total amount consumed.

The best thing about this place is the long wait, two hours waiting for them to see me, so if you want your time not to be valued, come to this place

Unfortunately, they do not respect my time. I visited them twice and waited for four hours without any work being completed, and I had to take time off from my job.

Really unhappy with my experience. First time trying this company/office since moving to the city recently. I have always gone to the dentist twice yearly, never had any issues (last had x-rays/cleaning with my long term family dentist in January 2025) and somehow I magically have one cavity and possibly a second forming? I asked them for photo evidence as I am a clinician myself and did not really believe them (had just read on recent dental scams in the news cough cough). They had an attitude about that. I asked for the x-rays to be sent to my email so I could get a second opinion from my previous family dentist and they didn't send them. Had to chase them up for that the following days. Then I asked for the specific area and type of cavity they were stating I had. They then said "that's our information not yours", uhm....it's my medical record...what do you mean it's yours? On top of that, I was the first appointment of the day (7am) and I waited 35 minutes to be taken back?? How are you behind when I am first of the day? Then the cleaning aka torturing began. Like I said, I have always been meticulous with my teeth, and I felt like I was in one of those games from the SAW franchise. Being waterboarded while a guillotine was used as "floss". My teeth hurt as much as the day I had my braces put on as a kid. 0/10 would recommend this place.

My Mom called ahead to verify they took her insurance. She then called a Lyft and checked in with the receptionist. The receptionist kept her waiting in the lobby in excess of two hours until my Mom asked the front desk why she was not called for her appointment and the front desk staff stated they do not take her insurance. They made my mom wait 2 hours and did not even have the courtesy to inform her, while she was in the lobby. This was *after* call ahead to verify and to make the appointment in the first place!
