About Greenburg Pediatric Dentistry

Based on Southwest Greenburg Road in the Metzger area of Portland, Oregon, Greenburg Pediatric Dentistry is a dental practice serving the area. Pediatric dental care is built around treating children specifically — dentists with additional training in child development and behaviour management, and offices designed to make a first visit unintimidating. Guidance generally points to a child's first dental visit around age one or within six months of the first tooth.

Children benefit from starting dental visits early, generally by their first birthday or within six months of the first tooth coming through, mainly so they become familiar with the setting before any treatment is actually needed. Establishing that routine early tends to make ongoing checkups far less stressful for both child and parent.

Payment and insurance arrangements vary by practice and by treatment, so it is worth asking directly what is covered and what options exist for anything that is not, rather than assuming either way. Getting that clarified before treatment starts avoids surprises once it is underway.

Beyond any single treatment, most dental visits start with an examination — checking for decay, reviewing the gums, and looking at existing fillings or crowns — often alongside X-rays where there is a reason to look between or beneath teeth. That groundwork is what a dentist uses to explain any findings and set out next steps before you leave.

Routine attendance, roughly every six months for most people, is what actually keeps small problems small. A lot of decay and gum disease develops without any pain in its early stages, which is why regular checkups matter even when nothing seems to be wrong, rather than only booking an appointment once something hurts.

A first appointment at a new practice typically covers a full examination, a review of your dental and medical history, and a professional cleaning, with X-rays if you do not have recent ones. It is also a reasonable time to raise any longer-term concerns, cosmetic or otherwise, so they can be factored into a plan going forward. Frequently Asked Questions

Greenburg Pediatric Dentistry is on Southwest Greenburg Road in the Metzger area of Portland, Oregon (97223).
What days is Greenburg Pediatric Dentistry open?
Greenburg Pediatric Dentistry is open Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday. Contact the practice through this page to confirm current appointment times before travelling.
What services does Greenburg Pediatric Dentistry offer?
Listed services at Greenburg Pediatric Dentistry include Children / Pediatric Dentistry. The full list is shown on this page.
Are dental X-rays safe for children?
Modern digital X-rays use a very low dose and are taken only when there is a clinical reason. They show decay between teeth and problems with developing adult teeth that cannot be seen by looking.
How do I stop my child getting cavities?
Brushing twice daily with fluoride toothpaste, supervising until they have the dexterity to do it properly, and limiting how often sugary food and drink appear during the day. Frequency of sugar matters more than the total amount.
How often should I have a dental check-up?
Every six months suits most people. If you have gum disease or a history of decay a dentist may suggest coming more often. The point of regular visits is mostly to catch problems while they are still small and cheap to treat.

If you're looking for a pediatric dentist who makes every visit fun and stress-free, this is the place! Dr. Eddie and his entire team are exceptional—every hygienist has been kind, gentle, and welcoming with my two girls. A special thank you to Maggie, who has an incredible gift with children. From routine checkups to major dental work, we've always had outstanding care. I also appreciate that Dr. Eddie takes the time to explain every option, including holistic approaches, without any pressure—just honest, professional guidance. I couldn't recommend this office more highly!

The best dentist I've taken my kids to. Kind and thoughtful. Don't push unnecessary work. Didn't push my girl into anything when she wasn't ready. 10 stars. Wish I could come here for myself lol.

I scheduled this appointment because my son was having gum and teeth problems, and I wanted those concerns evaluated in addition to his cleaning. During the visit, only the cleaning was completed. The issues I specifically mentioned were not addressed, and I was told that I would need to schedule another appointment for evaluation. This was disappointing because the purpose of the appointment was to address those concerns as well. I expected the dentist to examine the problems I reported during the visit rather than requiring a separate appointment afterward. Better communication about what would and would not be covered during the appointment would have been appreciated.

My kids 3 and 6 love going to the dentist! Everyone is so friendly, kids can watch shows while they have their teeth worked on, the dentist and hygienists are really great at explaining things-- to the kids and to me :) , AND they're open on the weekends and after school. The best!

We love going to the dentist office. Our son is still not the best at opening his mouth, but Dr. Eddie gets him talking and is able to get a good look at his teeth. That way the whole staff is really great with kids and does everything they can to make your kid feel comfortable.

We LOVE the staff at Greenburg Pediatric Dentistry. I have 3 kids (ages 6, 3 and 1) and this is the 3rd dentist we’ve taken our kids to in the area and they are by far the best. They know how to interact with kids, are kind, and have reasonable expectations. The comparison between them and another local pediatric dentistry off Barnes are night and day!

Dr Eddie and all the staff here are so kind, patient, and thorough. My daughter has been coming since she was 2 and they very slowly introduced the experience of going to the dentist to her without pressure while still taking care of her teeth. She is now just shy of 4 and is so excited to go to the dentist because of how great this staff is! The dentist has always been very thorough with answering my questions and we have never felt rushed at any of our visits. Would highly recommend for your child’s dental needs. Appointment reminders are excellent and front office staff answers phones and responds quickly.

I initially learned of Greenburg Pediatric Dentistry through my provider, Moda, last fall. Since becoming patients, my children have consistently received prompt and professional care. They eagerly anticipate each visit, thanks to the warm reception from the staff, which extends to the exceptional hygienists and doctors. Our family has quickly felt like part of the Greenburg Pediatric Dentistry family, and I am pleased to entrust my children's dental health to this outstanding practice.
